The Grand Hotel Russischer Hof is a traditional early 19th century hotel, formerly used as a museum and military hospital, located 500 metres from the Bauhaus. The 126 guestrooms feature modern, pastel decor with dark wood furniture and framed wall prints. All are equipped with cable television with pay movies, wireless Internet, VCRs, multi-line phones with voicemail, coffee and tea making facilities, refrigerators and complimentary weekday newspapers. Bathrooms include shower/tub combinations, bathrobes, hair dryers and toiletries. After breakfast, guests can relax with a complimentary newspaper among the 18th century tapestries and gold-leaf paintings in the lobby. Guests can work up a sweat in the gym then unwind with a steam bath or Finnish sauna and top up their tans in the solarium. A range of massage treatments are available on request. In the afternoons, freshly baked cakes and pastries are served in the Wiener Kaffeehaus, a traditional Viennese-style coffee house, and in the evening, guests can sample a selection of cocktails, local draught beers and cigars in the hotel's informal bar. Characterised by colourful striped fabrics, wood panelling and chandeliers, the Restaurant Anastasia serves seasonal national, international and regional dishes with an experimental twist. The hotel houses six conference rooms, the largest of which is able to accommodate up to 126 people. Multilingual staff at the 24-hour front desk are on hand to arrange limousine hire, exchange currency and provide information on local attractions. Guests arriving by car will find garage parking available nearby (surcharge). Those interested in Weimar's cultural heritage will find Goethe's house and gardens within 1.5 kilometres of the hotel. The Bauhaus museum, 500 metres from the hotel, houses a collection of works reflecting the area's famed early 20th century artistic movement.
