Beds feature carved headboards and are dressed with Frette Italian linens, mattress toppers and down duvets. Select accommodations feature Italian Carrera marble fireplaces and sofa beds. Standard rooms feature Neo Classical design, and Parlor Rooms display Neo Classical or French Country décor. All rooms include minibars. Expert Tip. Originally built as a private residence, the 19th century Morrison Clark Hotel was converted in 1923 into an inexpensive club for soldiers and sailors. First Ladies, including Mamie Eisenhower and Jacqueline Kennedy, presided over the club. Years later, the club was purchased by M. Frank Ruppert who, following a trip to China, added the hotel's Chinese Chippendale porch and the Shanghai style roof.
