hotel outside The Campanile hotel of Villeneuve d'Ascq is located only 10 minutes away from the centre of Lille, right next to the museum of Modern Arts and close to many other sites that are worth visiting, such as the François Mitterrand science centre, a pony club, lakes with watersports and a golf course. Whether you are on a business trip or with the family, the hotel, where the guests receive a personnalised welcome, will meet your requirements and also dedicates a particular importance towards children. The property offers comfortable fully equipped rooms, a restaurant open for dinner as well as free private parking facilities.

We came to the hotel with 3 children, but were given rooms on different sides of the building, with the triple roome being on the second floor (external staircase), facing over a fence into some wilderness. Consequently, we had to split adults and children between the rooms, and could not communicate throughout our stay. This has all but ruined our holiday.

The map of the hotel provided on the website was completely incorrect. We wasted nearly two hours trying to find the hotel in Lille. It was very frustrating.

There was no air-conditioning and the staff looked blankly at us when we asked about the possibility of a fan. Since the only, small window that opened was straight out onto the motel-like walkway to other rooms, it was difficult to ventilate the room. Apart from the hotel's own restaurant, there are no other facilities in the near vicinity. Signposting to the hotel, which is tucked away in the middle of nowhere, is very poor. They attempted to charge me more than the rate agreed with Venere.com.

By car From Paris: from the highway A1 follow the A22 towards Villeneuve d'Ascq/Roubaix, then take the N227 for Roubaix/Villeneuve d'Ascq. Take exit 5 in direction of Flers/Château Cousinerie and at the second set of lights turn right for Cousinerie-Recueil. After 300 meters turn right.From Gand: take the highway A22 in direction of Paris. Take exit 6 towards Flers/Château Cousinerie. At the lights straight on towards Cousinerie-Recueil and turn right after 300 meters.From Dunkerque: follow the N227 towards Paris/Villeneuve d'Ascq/Roubaix, then take exit 5 in direction of Flers/Château Cousinerie. At the second set of lights turn right for Cousinerie-Recueil. After 300 meters turn right.

The restaurant concentrates on variety and quality, with a wide range of formulas, buffets and dishes à la carte. There are also menus for all children. Like all Campanile hotels, there is an all-you-can-eat buffet of hors d'oeuvre and desserts with a great selection of good quality products and a wine card. The restaurant is open from 7 p.m. to 10 p.m.
