I enjoyed my short stay to this hotel. Considering the price you pay, the room was very good without anything missing. I also liked the overall decoration. The hotel has character. Breakfast was very good with variety and the working stuff was polite and helpfull.

Great little hotel, nice and clean and the beds were very comfortable. Staff were fantastic and very helpful, considering we did not know much French, but their english was excellent. The only complaint would be that the renovation taking place over the road at the local church caused some noise problems early in the morning and on one occasion late at night.

I booked the stay late and this was an excellent hotel for what my Son and I needed. Finding it was not easy as the maps where not clear but once you find the cathedral it is easy. Breakfast was excellent and available from 06:30 on a Sunday which was a pleasant surprise. Room was good but there was some noise from other residents in the corridor at night

first time in Valenciennes,the hotel is well situated to village and train station,easy access to Paris from Valencienne and to Brussells from lille europe which is 40 min apprx from Valenciennes.would reccommend staying here,staff friendly and helpful,for a two star hotel i felt very comfortable,restaurants close by and if you like mussels and chips go to Wantiers which is 2 mins from hotel they also have a varied menu,which is worth trying out.

A very friendly welcome was given to us on arrival, rooms were clean but very noisy at night. as the weather was very hot, and there was no A/C in the room, a fan would have been a help at night. The food was very good,and although we only stayed 2 nights we did feel it was good value for money.

The location was ver good for shops etc We used it for a short weekend stay and it was adequate,I dont think I would use it for a 2week break though,mainly because of the location.

We knew Hotel Notre Dame from a previous visit, so we came back and did not get disappointed.

The hotel is a very old French property. The staff were lovely and the people in general, in Valenciennes, were very friendly. There was no lift and the stairway could be improved upon, as the carpet is very old. The amenities were adequate. Everyone seemed to partake in le petit dejeuner and it all looked fresh and clean. The rooms were quite large with clean linen and adequate space for clothes and the plumbing was very French. Value for money, could do with a Spring clean in public areas, but we enjoyed the weekend very much.

Some of the comments passed on to me by my colleagues that actually stayed in the Hotel are as follows: The room was awful and would never stop there again. Mould on the ceiling. Paint peeling off the walls. Rotten skirting boards, and door frames. Brown stains in the toilet bowl. Don't know about the bed, daren't look under the covers. Having experienced the basement rooms, we were very reluctant to investigate the dining facilities, and departed at the earliest opportunity.

Nice location but spoilt during this visit by major road works in the centre of town. Room was looking in need of "refreshing" but basic facilities were all OK.

We very much enjoyed this hotel. The staff were kind to the children and were very welcoming. Our only problem was that we kept getting parking tickets from parking our car outside the front of the hotel. The website promised a proper parking facility.
