Good stay, excellent site and excellent quality/price ratio. I strongly reccomend this hotel. Only an issue: chimes of the church bells could be annoying.

This is a very nice hotel. It's right in the centre of Gubbio, so it's a perfect choice if you want to go sightseeing in this town. The rooms are clean and the staff is kind.

We have a lovely stay at Hotel Gattapone. The desk staff were among the friendliest we encountered in Italy, and the room was among the cleanest. I should explain the lower score for quietness: the hotel is next to a church, and the bells in the clock tower sound every quarter hour throughout the night. This was probably more an issue for our room than others, since our room faced the church. Over time, we got used to it. There were no problems whatsoever with noise from the street or from other guests. Finding the hotel was a bit of a challenge; the entrance actually doesn't face the street listed as the address. Thanks to the kind help of an older man sitting on a bench (who was forgiving of my Italian), we were put back on track. Throughout our stay, we found the people of the city to be similarly warm and helpful.

Hotel Gattapone provides a comfortable stay in an interesting, non-touristy town. Only one staff member speaks English, but everyone was helpful, and communication was not a problem. Parking is available in a public lot a few short blocks downhill from the hotel.

The position of the hotel, the outlook and the size of our room was good. We stayed for several nights and had the impression that a skeleton staff had been left in charge and there was nobody in authority. The breakfasts were extremely disappointing. Very little choice. Service at breakfast practically non existent. We had to seek out a member of staff every morning for basic things like spoons and butter. I'm afraid we couldn't recommend this hotel with its present staff.

Stanza molto luminosa con buona vista su Assisi. Purtroppo difficile prendere sonno dato il continuo scampanio che si fa sentire interamente ogni quarto d'ora!!! Colazione piuttosto scarna. Costa troppo per quello che offre.

A beautiful hotel in the middle of a very well preserved medieval town. Had a bit of trouble finding it (had to ask several residents for directions) and it is difficult to reach by car. Also, the bells from the church next door pealed until early morning. But these were minor inconveniences compared with the lovely room and common areas and wonderful view from our room. Also, the breakfast was ample and well serviced. Note that not all staff are comfortable communicating in English.

Great atmospheric setting, right in the heart of Gubbio. I definitely had a 'room with a view', overlooking the Chiesa San Giovanni Battista. Gloriously peaceful, with the only 'noise' being the chimings from the Palazzo's clock tower.

Fabulous! Your location is wonderful and we liked the fact that though this not a car town, you were situated close enough to the parking. Your beds were a bit too hard for my liking but the rooms were clean and nice. It was an easy walk to restaurants, etc. and just really a nice hotel - I would highly recommend it to anyone!

Hotel very good. Gubbio excelleny. Ony problem was the incessant church bells all night!!! I guess the locals just dont hear them. Had a great (but pricey) meal in the Taverna de Lupo (owned by the same people as the Gattapone)
