The Raj is supposed to have a 24 hr reception, when I was coming in at 3am it took me 10 mins for somebody to let me in. Either they need to start handing out keys or have a permanent presence on reception.

Last summer I stayed at Elena hotel for three nights and everything was acceptable enough. That is why I decided to come back this time. I knew the hotel is basic but this time I was very disapointed. Our room was on the ground floor. I booked a triple room and I was given a room of single size with four beds on it. TV did not work. Coffee and Te was not available. Bins had not being emptied and when we moved the beds we realized that housekeepers dont do that very often... I dont think Hotel Elena is following the low regarding the smoking band. The semell of cigarettes was horrible so we had to have the windows opened, therefore did not sleep much due to the noisy road the hotel is located at. I thought that breakfast would make up the horrible room, but when we got there (09.30) not much food was left and when we asked for certain items where told that breakfast was over even if this is served till 10. So we just have some white toast. Not exactly what I call full english breakfast. Defenitly dont even give it a go. Not worth it.

This motel is cheap, that is its best quality. It is on a very busy and loud street making it difficult to sleep. Our room was hot, but we didn't feel safe leaving the window open. We had a television, but no reception. We were traveling with our children, and our rooms were on different levels, no where near each other. Their room seemed to be quieter. The staff was helpful when we checked in early, getting us a room, but it really didn't make up for the fact that the rooms were really, really run down and loud. Breakfast was okay. I would not stay here again. On our way home we found a wonderful motel (with a pool and everything) next to the airport for less, so even if your on a tight budget there are better deals out there than this one!

Easy-way hotel, no luxuries, bathroom ok, small room but clean, good English breakfast. Best relation price/quality! If you are paying by credit card they will increase the total amount!!! Hotel sencillo, ningún lujo, baño correcto, habitación pequeña pero limpia, desayunos completos. Gran relación calidad/precio. Si pagas con tarjeta te incrementan el precio total!!! ojo!

A very good hotel. Excellent value for money. Only £32 anight! Rooms are clean, breakfast is good and is self-service so you don't have to wait. TV is tuned in. I only have one criticism. The bed sinks a bit in the middle, which desn't do your back a lot of good. Bear in mind the hotel is situated nearer to the Essex Road station end than to Islington Green.

Breakfast was better than at some more expensive Hotels , and overall , it's basic but clean with good staff. If you're on a tight budget , it's perfectly adequate. Would stay here again if working in the area in the future. Would probably go more up-market if bringing the family.

first the hotel is located at 20mn by foot to angel station so be careful. then it's the fisrt time in my life that we were agressed by some customer in the hotel because we asked to be more quiet( it was 1 hour ) . nobody do something included the manager. we had to push the chest of drawers and the bed behind the door to protects us because they wanted to fight and kill us. we had to call the police our self . at last we left the hotel in the midle of the night and of course they didn't want to get's our money back,it's the true. Althought it's not expensive its a DANGEROUS PLACE.

London seems to have a horrible price - quality ratio. The carpets are... and the bathrooms... But the breakfast was good! And Islington nice. I also liked, that the bus just stopped in front of the door. This should be communicated on their site.

Oltre ai mezzi indicati sul sito si devono aggiungere 7 fermate di bus. Hanno preteso una maggiorazione del 4% perchè ho pagato con carta di credito

Yes it's noisy, yes it's basic, but it is clean and in a great location and for this kind of price I would definately go back. I found the staff pleasant, friendly and polite. The walls are paper thin as it is a converted house, so it does get very noisy, my advise is take some earplugs. However, the location is great, being in walking distance of the centre of Islington which has tube links to the rest of the city. The rooms, although full of mismatched furniture, were clean and pleasant, with tea and coffee making facilities, a vanity unit and a colour TV. The shared bathrooms were very nice and clean and decorated to quite a high standard.

the crew is not nice. there's only one hairdryer for 33 rooms. the room was too hot. the window could not be closed ! the walls are too thin and the first neighbours were really noisy and insane all night long even if you or a crew member asked them to shut'up. but the last nights were more quiet. the breakfast is good and the location is really interesting to move with buses or subway.the TV is a good point and the room is clean. the crew has to perform with the customers and it will be better for all !

This has to be the worst hotel I have ever stayed in, they wanted to add a charge for using credit cards, The bathroom was out of toilet paper, and the bathroom floor appeared dirty. It was worst than a back backers

D'ont wait a smile of the employees. It's really trading and not friendly! The rooms are ordinary and very noisy but it's clean. For our first journey in London, we were disappointed by this reception!

The location of the hotel is good, just few bus stations away once one out of the subwaystation. There is a bus station in front of the hotel, and loundrystore, supermarkets are also near by the hotel. Room and the bathroom in the floor are clean, staffs are nice and friendly, although the veriaty of breakfest is limited, but quite satisfying.

For that price one can not expect anything better in London. Rooms are clean but very basic. The Hotel is not at all in the center. It is about 20 minutes walk from angel station. But there are busses and nightbusses. It is a very nice area, but still i would not recommend to walk there allone as a woman in the night. So you might have to add like 8 pounds for taxi. Nevertheless, if you are young and don't like to follow the usual tourists paths it is a perfect place to stay.
