The Hotel Margherita has a very welcoming atmosphere and provided a very comfortable and enjoyable base for our 5 days on the Amalfi Coast. The views from the room balcony and swimming pool are spectacular and add to the overall quality of the hotel facilities. Our room was large with good storage capacity and the bathroom was large, clean and modern. Breakfasts were excellent with plenty to choose from, and gluten-free bread was provided on request for my wife. The hotel also has a very good restaurant with a good range of meals, including a number of gluten-free options. The one downside for the Margherita is that it is up a fairly long hill from the main road through Praiano, and the walk at the end of the day on the Amalfi Coast was tedious. Having said that, the hotel will happily send a car down to pick you up and there is an infrequent local bus that stops at the door if your timing is right.
Very well run yet relaxed atmosphere. Courteous, friendly and respectful staff. Convenient position with local transport available frequently. Lovely large rooms, views forever.

By far one of or the best hotel that we stayed at during this 3 weeks journey through 4 countries. While the room is basic (the bathroom is very modern and there's even like a spa bath. The rooms are spacious and clean. Ours had a view directly out to the water but not to the left or right, we were not high enough. The breakfast served in the morning is nice and just enough to get you through to a late lunch (this is good if you are touring)The restaurant on site is one of the best within all towns of Positano, Praiano and Amalfi. We ate there 3 out of our 4 nights there! This hotel is very accommodating in a down to earth REAL way. You are almost treated like family. It's a complete family that runs the place and while we were there Suella added 2 more (twins)... Suella's mom Margherita is a gem and so interesting to talk to! Andrea and Gennaro another added plus for sure!! Giovanna and Rocco icing on the cake!! So because I went on this site and trusted the reviews here about Hotel Margherita I made the best decision and had a worry free/hassle free wonderful time on the Amalfi Coast!

We would so happy to be in a tiny town near Positano and Amalfi. The bus stops right outside the hotel and we had a balcony room overlooking the sea. Perfect.

our stay was excellent and would like to go back again. we stayed in a double room for 3 nights

Praiano was a great place, the hotel was nice and very friendly and accomodating. We enjoyed touring around Positano and Amalfi which you can take a bus to either place and the locals are really friendly even if they don't speak any or little english. I would return.

Pleasant stay and would recommend.

nice hotel in good position for seeing the amalfi coast. bus goes past hotel and public transport generally is very good on the peninsula. food is very good at the hotel and all the staff were really friendly.
The hotel was very comfortable, our room had a super view of the sea. The only criticism was that we felt the food served in the restaurant varied from excellent to poor, which we did not expect for the price we paid.
Very welcoming atmosphere. Nice hotell with great people. We only stayed one night, but the people at the hotel was really helpful. They picked us up and made arrangement with the owner of the apartement we were moving to. They also drove us down to the apartement with no extra cost.
Sehr schönes und gut ausgestattetes Hotel in ruhiger Lage. Tolles Badezimmer. Sehr freundlich. Toller Meerblick. Große Terrasse. Frühstück für italienische Verhältnisse top. Sehr gute Busverbindung nach Amalfi und Positano. Dort auch schöne Bademöglichkeiten. Einziger Wermutstropfen: Das angebotene Abendmenü erscheint zu teuer.
This is a great family-run hotel with lots of pride. They gave us free rides into town, all the Interent time we asked for and even stored our car (again for free) in the hotel parking garage for 3 days while we went to Capri. Could not ask for more. Twins are due in October, 2008!!!

This was the last two of 8 nights my wife and I spent in Italy after a transatlantic crossing. It was the perfect place to end our stay as all aspects of our stay here were Great! The Amalfie coast road bus stops right in front, tickets available thru the hotel at a discount, prepared tourist sheets at the counter, multiple languages spoken by the staff. Great food in the spacious restaurant. The view is amazing from the balcony. Parking is included and directly in front of the hotel or their inside garage. Beautiful tile floors and a relaxed atmosphere. There was a rooster that crowed at sunup each morning, so I marked it down a little for that, but I think I would have gotten used to it in another day. Then again, we had no alarm clock with us, so this wan't all bad either! We were usng a GPS to find the hoel, and it missed by a few hundred feet and made one wrong turn away from the ocean. Should have just gone stright another 500 feet and we would have driven right in front of it, which we did after one u-turn. No biggie, just continue straight ahead keeping the ocean alongside after you climb the hill - this will make sense when you're there, which I recommend you DO!
8.4
The nice thing is there there is a busstop in front of the hotel from where you can go to Positano. Besides the owner brings you to the center where you can get the bus to Amalfi. He also brings you to the beach. There is a rather good restaurant which offers you a menu.
7.3
we had a sea view room and this was great (not the case if you don't chose this type of room : the "normal" ones have no view and don't have the same charme. the staff of the hotel is a bit "cold" and doesn't really care of the clients of the hotel. but this is a nice place, quiet and charming.
We stayed at the Margherita for three nights and it was our favorite hotel. The rooms are spacious, very clean, great view. The staff is extremely accomodating and speaks good English. The bus to Positano picks up directly in front of the hotel -- very easy to tour the area from this hotel. We loved everything about it.
Andrea and Suela were wonderful hosts. They helped in so many ways, including taking us down the hill to get us started on our sight seeing. The bus stop outside the door was so convenient for a trip to Positano. The veiw from the balcony was awe inspiring. Best of all, as a small hotel, we were treated as friends. My high recommendation for a holiday on the Amalfi Coast.
The staff was very nice and very accommodating. They provided transportation to and from the bus stop for us. (The bus stop was at the bottom of a huge hill.) They even opened the restaurant early for us one night. The food was wonderful. The view of the sea from our balcony was absolutely stunning. I would definitely stay at Hotel Margherita again.
During a month long trip to Greece and Italy, the Margherita was the nicest, cleanest, most comfortable hotel in which we stayed. The view is incredible, the hotel is spotless, the staff is super nice, friendly, and helpful. The dining room is excellent with Margherita herself taking your dinner order during breakfast. We yearn to come back and we compare every hotel with this one.
This was a lovely hotel deserving of more than a three star rating. We were a family of five traveling through Italy during Christmas vacation and we loved this property. The views were amazing and the location was perfect for experiencing the Amalfi coast.
Get an ocean view!!! The Amalfi coast is gorgeous! We stayed at the hotel just after the on-season had ended. We were welcomed by the staff and given rooms next to each other. There is computer access for a small fee and a nice common area in the hotel. The pool area and deck is suitable for sunbathing and cooling off. The included parking is key, and is one less headache to the exciting driving experience you will find on the coast. Praiano is less touristy than other locations. However, it is much more quaint and relaxing. The town is spread out on the hillside and though there are close by stores around, you won't find much of the bustling around like in Amalfi or Positano. The busses are easily accessible to the other places, and even with a car, we used the busses. For the bold and willing, you can hike to Positano or Amalfi, get your breath taken away, both literally and figuratively, and then take the bus back. We found the location giving us many options, but away from the typical tourist crowd. We ate at the hotel for a few nights and also in the town. The food was terrific, and the local wine is good and not expensive. Find another country to drink beer in, because even if you don't like wine, you will like it here. The breakfast was terrific, and the atmosphere for both occasions was social not only with the staff, but other guests as well. If all else failed, you could sit on the deck, look at the ocean, and not even imagine what your next cool experience would be. There is resort feeling to the area, but you feel like you're staying at your Uncle's condo, able to sneak in at a good value in a nice location. Renting scooters here is an option to get around, as parking isn't good. The adrenaline rush you get will exceed the caffiene rush from the cappucino. Cast danger to the wind and trust everyone to do the right thing, and you won't end up in the side of the SITA bus or over a cliff! There are many little towns to simply exp
Magic view.Wonderful restaurant. Bus to Positano leaves from the front door. We loved every minute of our stay at Margherita.
Very helpfull staff. They volunteered to drive us to other bars and restaurants in the town and collected up later. Including collecting us, from a restaurant, one night at 1am when it was raining. I can't praise them enough.
Breakfats were excellent. I thought the menu del giorno was a bit pricy, for what there was, (e.g. one ball of ice cream for dessert)but it was actually around the same price as the few other places we looked at. As the summer season had just ended the small pool was covered up. We stayed in two rooms; the first had an old bathroom, but was large. They moved us (at their request) to a room with a new bathroom, but the bedroom was smaller. There were few shops or restaurants in Praiano, but I liked the place a lot.
This was a wonderful stay with Suela and Andrea as our hosts. They couldn't have been mor pleasant, accomodating and jus overall superb hosts. I have already reccomended this hotel to alot of people, and one day we will return. This spacd doesn't allow us to really say everything except superb and magnifico! The Baxter's North Vancouver BC Canada.
Very helpful and welcoming staff Splendid views from our rooms Dinner in the main was good but the chef was overstretched and my main course was disappointing
single room, spacious, excellent view, quiet, clean,
We had a great stay at Hotel Margherita. We met a lot of fun people from all over the world. When we first arrived at the bus stop, a local vendor helped me call the hotel for them to come and pick us up (the SITA bus stop is down a steep hill - too much to walk up with luggage). Domenico picked us up - what a cutie! The whole family was super nice and attentive. The food was excellent as well. My husband and I ordered off the menu because the prixe fix was too much food for the both us - the food was delicious. And, tasting other people's dishes (we had dinners with a couple of other couples that we met there), the prixe fix food was also delicious. The breakfast is mainly continental but Margherita or someone in the family will come around asking if you want eggs. Also, if you needed to be dropped off at the bus stop (down the steep hill), the family was always nice enough to drop you off - I don't know ONE hotel/business that will do that for you. The family really goes out of their way to make you feel comfortable - very hard working people. I felt sad leaving because we had met so many nice people and we had such a fun time at the hotel. We enjoyed the pool a couple of times. Our room had a beautiful view of the ocean - worth every penny to get an ocean view room. We were more than happy with the location and the room, I liked the quietness of Praiano. Positano is a 10 minute bus ride and you can always catch the bus in front of the hotel (the hotel will give you a schedule when the bus will come by. Be aware that the bus does 1 1/2 loops before it heads to Positano. If you follow the schedule, you'll catch in on the loop that heads to Positano, otherwise, you get a short tour of Praiano - not such a bad thing either.) To me, this hotel felt like a youth hostel. Only in the sense that all the guests were so friendly and not afraid to get together to drink and eat. We would definitely come back!!

First time at Hotel Magherita and would definately recommend. Fantastic family hotel, superb food, facilities, price and of course the view is spectacular. we were in a party of 10 and everyone loved it!
The hotel accommodations exceeded our expectations. The website is what really sold us on your hotel. Keep improving your virtual website. The reviews also helped us in choosing your hotel. Recognition also to Margherita for her public relations. Directions to your hotel could be better. A more detailed street map should be placed on your website. The meals were excellent. Coffee machine was also excellent. Margherita knows what Americans like for breakfast. (side note: waffles and pancakes could be added to breakfast menu as well). Mille Gracie...The Mele's, Cavalieri's and Sanchez....
We had a very good stay at Hotel Margherita. They were more than happy to make us something extra for breakfast, or to accomodate our frequent request for ice! They even offered to bring some to our room. The staff was very friendly. The rooms were clean, the air conditioning worked and the balcony was very nice. It is a little bit of a walk to the SITA bus stop. The walk back is almost all uphill. It didn't really bother us, and I also think the hotel would take you down there if you requested it. They offered to do it for us.
was first put in room 24, very moldy dirty bathroom but staff very receptive and changed our room right away with no hesitation to a beautiful apartment for same price. very service oriented staff, very nice location, not too touristy but close to all other villages.
This was a great hotel for our honeymoon! The staff was fantastic, the location was great, and the food was wonderful. The bathroom was spacious and the terrance had a great view. We could not have been happier with our choice...if we have our way we'll be back soon.
First time in Italy and first time at Hotel Margherita - will definately go back to both! Hotel was friendly and welcoming, very relaxed and unobtrusive. My only wish was that the pool area was a little larger, but the views made up for it! We had a triple room which was quite spacious and very clean. Would have liked a little more variety on menu, as there was alot of fish (which I do not eat), but I am pretty sure they would have prepared something special had I requested it. Had my five year old daughter with me and hotel was child friendly. Praiano and Positano beautiful...
We had a great time and really enjoyed our stay. Margherita would come around the breakfast tables making sure everyone was happy and to offer anything else that might not be out for breakfast that one might like. The bus stopped right in front of the hotel and you would go to the beach or to positano for only 1E and a very short ride.
We picked Praiano because it was between Positano and Amalfi. It was the more affordable of the area. I am so happy that we did. I loved it here. It is such a pretty place and the people are sooo friendly. It is a lot less touristy, and the views are spectacular. The pool is nice, and the deck is huge!!!! The breakfast was great. The staff helped us so much during our stay. They even spent the time to help us find the best and easiest way to reach Rome. We can't thank them enough for their hospitality. I miss it and can't wait to return...
The staff were extremely welcoming and nothing was too much trouble - including looking up local events on the internet and driving us all (two seperate car trips) to local places of interest. Praiano itself is beautiful - quieter than Positano and Amalfi but having a good range of restaurants and an amazing nightclub at the sea front. Would recommend a day trip to Capri - taking in Positano on the way, also a day in Amalfi. Local bus links are excellent and cheap, stopping immediately outside hotel. Request a room with a sea view - its definately worth paying any extra - the views are fantastic.
this was our second hotel during our 30 day visit in italy. location was great to visit positano , amalfi , and ravello( see villa cimbrone- great view of coast) by bus or car. garage parking was available at hotel. also close to sorrento , pompeii , and paestrum (worth drive to see greek temples and museum (museum closed on wed.)positano and ravella were 2 favorite cities. great views , good shops and beautiful churches/villas. driving amalfi coast breathtaking. hotel modern with spacious rooms , good sized bathroom and great view onto coast(ask for seaview with balcony) praino very quiet but interesting . at night go down to la spiaggia (beach) there are several restaurents right on the cliffs by the ocean. breakfast at hotel was great. margherite made great omlettes to order and fruit , rolls , meat, cheese all very good. margherite was great hostess and good source of information. only regret is we did not stay longer. good value for money
We had a wonderful stay. The staff was friendly and very helpful. Breakfast (with made-to-order eggs and fresh patries) was delicious. Good location although a long walk to the beach. Great overall experience.
GREAT HOTEL
Lovey Hotel, the staff wer very friendly and helpful. A steepwalk from the village but not a poroblem if you corordiantaed with the local bus serviced.
This hotel impressed us more than any other during our visit to italy. Although only rated 3 star you get 4 star service and comfort. The room was charming with it's hand painted furniture and original artworks and sesational view from the balcony. It also featured a large screen LCD tv. The staff were outstandingly friendly and helpful and could not do enough to ensure that our stay was stress free. I would certainly recommend this as the ideal base for a visit to the Amalfi Coast and we plan to return here for a longer stay.
A recommender
What a beautiful hotel - we ejoyed the family service and attention to detail - we loved that we could order ahead for dinner what we wanted. We would definitely return here.
8.0
good dinner and breakfast
8.1
We loved the food and location of the hotel. Our room was small and located on the back so no ocean view. The beach of Praiano was a nice walk and very beautiful. Lots of pottery to buy. Dirving in could be a problem for those not familiar with the Naples race. Somewhat scary.
6.9
Our room was nice, with a beautiful view. Unfortunately the walls seemed to be very thin and it was a bit noisy. However the food at the hotel was excellent and Margherita and the family were fantastic. They were very friendly and helpful. Praiano is a lovely little quiet town but if you want to get to other places along the Amalfi Coast during your stay it would be best to have your own transport. Although the local bus will pick you up right in front of the hotel, it can take a long time to get anywhere! We would definitely hire a scooter next time.
We loved it to stay in this hotel. It was perfect.
This hotel was everything we hoped for and MORE! It was a beautiful location with excellent rooms and delicious meals. We would not hesitate to recommend this hotel to anyone travelling to the Amalfi coast. The convenience of the bus stop right in front of the hotel, and free parking were a definite asset to our stay.
As Americans traveling to the Amalfi Coast for the 1st time, Hotel Margherita was an excellent choice. There was always someone available who spoke excellent English and would go out of their way to answer any questions. Most important, the local bus stops directly in front of the hotel. Additionally, the staff went on online to help us find the bus/train schedule to Sorrento/Naples.
This hotel was exceptional. One of the really nice things about it was the free parking which is very scarce in Praiano. Margerita was very helpful and a great cook. She took special orders from my whole family and fixed a great dinner. The staff was extremely helpful and pleasant and all spoke good english. The rooms were all sea view and nice.
An excellent family run hotel in a superb location. Represents extremely good value for money. Restaurant very pleasant with a good breakfast and competitively priced evening meal if required. Roof terrace with spectacular views. Helpful staff and a frequent bus service from the door to Praiano and Positano. Recommended for a relaxing holiday!
8.6
The location is excellent....fantastic view of the coast from the balcony. Room spacious, nice furniture, clean. Bathroom fine. Was my wife's birthday and were greeted with a glass of sparkling wine and nuts...nice touch! Staff all helpful and attentive. Swimming pool a bonus! parking adequate, very important in this area because you willnot find anywhere to park. In fact it's much better to leave car parked during your stay, and take the bus which stops right in front:it avoids a lot of heart-stopping moments on the winding traffic-ridden coast-road.And in any case, you will not find any parking in Amalfi or Positano (unless at extortionate 3euros/hr) Bus costs 1 euro and goes direct to Positano;another goes down to the beach. Only negative note at hotel was dinner. we took it once, and, although not expensive (18euros), quality (compared to restaurants outside) was very mediocre. Chips soaked in oil, small portions and non-imaginative side-dishes.Not bad, just mediocre. Suggested restos are Alfonso and Armandino down at Praiano beach, just metres from the sea (buses run till late), and Al Gennaro (fantastic scialatielli allo scoglio and beautiful sunset over Positano and Capri from terrace) in Vettica (a 10minute stroll downhill,or wait for bus to Positano) Tip..to go to Capri, book a boat day tour from Positano (about 50euros inc alcoholic drinks), and ask them to pick you up from Praiano beach..it's free! Overall I would highly recommend this hotel for staying in; some reservations about the restaurant though.
7.4
The Margherita was even better than we had hoped for. We loved it and we loved Praiano. The breakfast provided was wonderful.Well done Venere, for having this lovely little place on your Website. We will tell all our friends to go through Venere, thoroughly trustworthy.
9.6
Splendid 1 week stay. Highly recommended as a spot where you can easily travel (either by bus or by car, best by scooter) to the towns in the neighborhood. We even had free parking in the garage. This family run hotel responds to all your needs.
Our room was very clean and comfortable. The balcony overlooked the pool area and the coast which was strikingly beautiful and breathtaking. Signora Margherita prepared great meals and Mansuela was very good with sightseeing and directions. Thank you all for a memorable time in Praiano!!
The hotel is run by a very nice family. Everybody makes you feel welcome. The food is excellent and the location is great. We had a nice balcony whit a view on the see. the room was spacious and claen. We are a family of 4 and we realy enjoyed our stay there. We would go back.
We enjoyed our stay very much at Hotel Margherita. Dining area was wonderfully displayed with Margherita herself cooking our meals. The view from the room was breathtaking! Will remember this place fondly as Italy won the world cup the evening we were there. We were a little over budget for the one night including dinner but the beauty of the town was worth every penny.
9.5
Very good personal service. We were picked up at the bus stop by car. Fantastic seaview from room. Quiet surroundings
The hotel is an excellent place to stay. Getting there (from Naples or Sorrento) is quite a long process. The best way we think is to take the MetroMare (commuter boat) between Naples and Positano then take the local bus system (not SITA) to Praiano which drops you off right at the front door. The train and bus combo was harder longer and more confusing to us. But the hotel is worth every minute and the food is great. Staff was extremely accommodating and gracious, the best we had on our two week trip to Italy. If you can't get a sea view, there is a lovely deck that overlooks the entire coastline and when we were there, there was never anyone using it! Our family of 4 (including two teenagers) had a great time.
We had a wonderful 10 days at Hotel Margherita. Praiano is a wonderful little town and the Praiano-Positano bus stopped right outside the door. From Suela to Andrea to Margherita and Francesco we enjoyed staying in this wonderful family-run hotel.
9.4
Great hotel, great location, great staff, great value, couldn't have wished for a more pleasant stay!
The quality of personal service received from the management and staff was first rate. Definitely to be recommended.
The staff were very helpful. they spoke english well and we friendly and helpful when we wanted to get the ferry to capri and best things to do in the area. We arrived late (9:30 pm ) and their kitchen was still open & were happy to get us dinner. It is a family run business and it really showed.
We had a fabulous stay with Senora Margherita, we had dinner here every night. She arranged special dinners for us which were delicious! We would certaionly stay here again, a perfect location to see the Amalfi Coast.
Margherita has impeccable taste. Each room is perfectly appointed in delightful style, and even better than the photos. We chose to take our meals at the hotel restaurant, and all our requests were granted. The food - delicious. Deserves more stars!
While it is often difficult to select a hotel purely on the basis of internet reviews, we were grateful to have selected Margherita for our recent visit to the Amalfi coast. The owners and staff were outstanding and went above and beyond in the service provided. For example, the hotel provided us with a prepared schedule of buses connecting to ferries between Sorrento and Capri, and between Positano and Capri; and also provided overnight storage of our rental car when we went to Capri - all for no additional charge. It is the "little things" that turn a vacation into a great memory - thank you to everyone at Margherita for making this happen for us!
Family run business - very professional and helpful with local knowledge. Great view from our balcony and large room and bathroom. Staff spoke English well which made it easier to communicate and understand directions. A bus literally at the front door takes you to Positano - 1 Euro each way which made a day trip extremely easy. Highly recommended!
The Margharita is an excellent family run hotel where they are willing to do anything for you from parking your car to cooking your favourite meal. The views are amazing and the area great for walking. The village is not touristy but Positano and Amalfin are easily accessible by bus if you want that sort of thing.
Hotel Margherita is a very well run family owned hotel. Everyone was very friendly an welcoming and would gladly assist with any request that we had. If travelling by public transport to the hotel, contact the hotel to come to pick you up from the bus stop in Praiano as the hill to the hotel, with cases, is a long one. Once at the hotel, the public transport to Positano leaves from outside the hotel door. The buses are the best way to get around as they are frequent and cheap. The rooms were well appointed and clean. Breakfast was well presented and if what you want is not apparently available, just ask! The orders for the evening meal are taken at breakfast and whilst there is a menu, if you think of something particular that you would like, again just ask. All our requests were provided cheerily. All the meals were of a good quality and the house wine is more than acceptable. Praiano is a beautiful place to stay and not as busy as Amalfi or Positano. Would we recommend the hotel - YES! Would we return to the hotel - Most definitely. Good value and nice people.
regarding meals, the dinner that was offered was of excellent quality (home made) but the price charge was exhorbitant.
This was one of the best locations and most welcoming hotels I have ever been to! I cannot wait to go back! The area of the hotel is secluded yet still close to things in the area. The people that work at the hotel are amazing! We felt like part of the family! We went in March and it wasn't as warm as I would have liked but there were no crowds for things. I think maybe May or September would be perfect.
The hotel is charming, unless the cleanliness is not enough accurate. The room is quite spacious and very beautifull; the view from the window, especially in the morning, is terrific. The personnel is really kind.
quiet, beautiful wiew, good rooms.food (seafood) was great and not expensive. not recomended for guys searching for fancy lobby +coffe i'll stay again
a welcoming & friendly family run hotel. great accomodation & food in a lovely setting with great views The Margherita provides a great base for exploring Amalfi coast we left our hire car in the hotel car park all week and used the local(very cheap)buses.
I would recommend this property to anyone travelling to the Amalfi coast. Especially the service was very good and the location with the view was beautiful. The only problem was that some noise was carried from the other rooms through ventilation.
For the price we were extremely happy. The rooms and matresses and pillows were very comfortable. Staff was very helpful and spoke good English. They were able to drive us down to the main bus connection. The menu was varied and we found great meals for Euro 30 for two. Location was up a steep hill when walking but there was a bus 4 times a day which stopped at the hotel door.
what can I say. the view was beautiful, the food was excellent, the service was great, the breakfast was splendid. Best 2 days that we have ever had in Praiano.
The hotel provides an excellent base for exploring the Amalfi coast. Life appears to go on in Praiano without the tourist trade, unlike Amalfi and Positano. It is well worth exploring the lanes (interesting shrines, cats, lots of steps, etc.), plus there is Piazza above the hotel (by a church) where you can catch a great sunset. There also seems to be some good walking up in the hills. There is a small pebbly beach that's free (but watch for glass), but the beaches at Amalfi and Positano are better. The buses are an experience, packed with tourists but fun nonetheless. I would advise getting a room with a sea view. We spoke to a couple who had a nice view of a rockface. Our room on the third floor was fabulous with a neat balcony and good bathroom with bath and decent shower. Room had a flat screen TV for those into watching TV on holiday. Internet access was available and I think you can get a broadband connection wirelessly if you bring your laptop via tin.it. Breakfast was good a plentiful. We stayed seven days and the variety was also fine. The dinners are also good and you can request anything special at breakfast (and La Brace down the hill and along the main road - by the other hotels on your right - is an excellent restaurant).
Room furnishings and design is too poor.
This was a lovely hotel with friendly and helpful staff with excellent English (for those without Italian). The location was perfect, there is a bus stop right outside the hotel with frequent local service to all towns along the Amalfi coast and the hotel was on the top of a hill and had amazing views of the Amalfi coast. It is excellent value for money, the rooms were great and I would strongly recommend this hotel to anyone.

The location and views were great. The bathroom shower had so much mold we were afraid to use it. Fortunately, we were only there for two days. We ate at the hotel restaurant twice and then went elsewhere to eat. Our first day we tried lunch and dinner in the restaurant and we received the same simple menu for both meals showing only limited 1st, 2nd, and dessert courses. We saw people at other tables eating food that was not on our menu, but they were French and Italian while we were American. We had experienced this discrimination against Americans previously so we just started eating elsewhere. I will find someplace else to stay on my next trip.
A delightful location for exploring the Amalfi coast. The food at the hotel was ver reasonable and was a good alternative to the restaurants in the town. The owners were also most accommodating. We would definitely go back.
We had the best time at this hotel. The view is gorgeous. The restaurant is great. Margherita would come out at breakfast and ask us what we wanted for dinner ,whether or not it was on the menu.(15 euros) Parking was free. You can take a bus to Positano. We met several people who took a cab from the Naples and didn't have a car. The pool was beautiful. The only room we've had with a flat-screen TV. Don't even think of staying anywhere else.
The room was very nice and clean and with a delightful view, the food also was good and the service excellent.
Excellent choice-Margherita & her staff were like family. Home cooked meals, inexpensive and made to order. Family member always on duty and location of hotel was perfect. Will definitely recomment and return to. A must!
We were so pleased with Hotel Margerhita. The town was wonderful. The bus to Positano and Almalfi stopped in front of the hotel, very convenient. The breakfast was good, you have to ask for eggs, but they will make them anyway you like. We took them up on the offer of a price fix dinner and it was wonderful. One of the best meals we had on our trip. We are still thinking about that lemon cake!
We had a great stay! However it would have been helpful if the website mentioned the small orange bus which can be caught at the bottom of the hill to take you to the hotel. We walked!! Great views, and only minutes by bus to Positano, and 2 hours to Pompeii. Plenty of good restaurants, especially the one at the waters edge down the stairs. The seafood is definitely worth the long climb back up the stairs! Best seafood ever !!
Bravo Francesco! Grazie!
Fantastic, great value for money. Staff were very helpful and went beyond the call of duty. We enjoyed our stay here very much. The rooms are huge and very clean. Breakfast has endless and dinner fantastic. We chose to leave our car at the hotel and explore the coast by the local bus. It was the best way to see the views and a great rest from driving. Do yourself a favour and stay at this family run hotel and catch a ferry over to capri. But be careful in capri and always ask for prices before ordering as you may be ripped off. Maybe take a picnic with you.
