It is not a four stars hotel, but only a three stars one. Breakfast too expensive. Service of car parking not very effective. However, personnel was very kind and tried to remedy to all lacks and unsatisfactory conditions I reported.
7.1
Lovely hotel in beautiful setting, laid bak staff, Though breakfast spread extensive and separate price very expensive.
7.5
There were refurbishment going on, so I was the only one stuck in the hotel, whereas my friends, who I wanted to be with, were moved to another (better) hotel. Somewhat of an inconvenience. The rest was pretty much fine.

This is a lovely hotel and I asked for a room with a view and was delighted to be given one. Often rooms with single occupancy don't have a pleasant outlook. Urbino is a hill town, so expect hills!! I walked from the bus station up a steep hill to the main square and then down again to the hotel, but one could take a lift, or even a taxi. The staff were very helpful. Sadly the expected restaurant was now only for groups so I had to go out alone into town to find a restaurant at night. As it turned out this was not a problem, as the staff recommended several suitable places. Breakfast was extra, as forewarned, but very substantial, and I ate in a beautiful, flowery, sunny terrace. I would certainly recommend Bonconte to a single female pensionner!

Drive through the Piazza del Repubblica, down the steep Via C. Batisti, along the Via Delle Mura and you are rewarded with the Bonconte and it's breathtaking views of the surrounding countryside. Parking is a breeze. The parking permit, a refundable 50 euro deposit, allows you to park next to the hotel right along the city wall. Our room was smaller but elegant. The staff was always very welcoming and helpful. Breakfast, a reasonable 7 Euros, in the charming outside patio was a great way to begin the day. There are also several nice restaurants at the Piazza del Repubblica where, after dark, everybody seems to congregate.
9.9
The hotel is a little old-fashioned (as one guidebook had pointed out) but it is in the most beautiful surroundings with the most amazing views. The room was well-presented and the view made up for the fact the slightly well-worn decor. The staff were welcome and very helpful. I would have preferred not to have music in public areas but I realise this is a personal preference. The room, however, was really quiet and tranquil.
We loved our room(s). There was a separate, connected single room which was perfect for our teenage son. The rooms were attractively furnished and very comfortable. The hotel staff was friendly, helpful and accommodating. We would definitely stay at this hotel again.

Hotel Bonconte is a lovely property situated minutes from the Piazza on the outside wall. There is also a lovely terrace with spectacular views to enjoy. The staff was very kind and competent. Patrizia and Helena were particularly helpful in arranging a birthday party for our son. Guests at Bonconte also have rights at the San Domenica Hotel in Urbino, as well as the Vittoria Hotel in Pesaro, which is seaside with a swimming pool. It is an inexpensive and easy bus ride to Pesaro with a short walk from the station through the shopping district.
3.4
The only one positive fact that the hotel is on a good place. But: The prospect mentioned that the restaurant of the hotel offers special local foods. The fact: there isn't any restaurant in the house. There isn't any help for the luggages, and it is possible to entry into the hotel only by lot of steps. We didn't get any smile from the staff (in Italy it was the first such case in our life!!!) The room was very dark, amortized. The carpets on the floor were endangering, every pieces were slippery.
9.3
This hotel is probably the best situated in the whole of Urbino, with the most wonderful views over the countryside to the east of the town. It is in a peaceful location, yet within 10 minutes (uphill) walk of the central piazza. In early May it was a little too chilly to make much use of the hotel's terraces and garden, but in warmer weather they will undoubtedly be a bonus. Also, hotel restaurant not operational at that time, but nearby La Morgana good value. Breakfast not included in the room price, and is expensive if you're not after much more than a coffee and croissant, in which case a nearby cafe is better. Only niggle was inadequacy of instructions on how to drive the last few hundred frustrating metres to the hotel door; try to extract specific details from them if you can.
9.6
We were very comfortable and found nothing wanting in our modestly sized room with a garden view. Desk staff extremely helpful and friendly. Location offers perfect access to all of Urbino on foot, and parking is made very convenient and easy with the pass provided by the hotel for a refundable E50. Great restaurant recommendations by staff were also within easy walking distance to hotel. Delicious regional wines, especially verdicchio.
Never really understood the 4-star rating, but the price is right for this level. Staff was very helpful, even showed me shortcut to sites through garden. Easy to find the "long" way around, but faster with the shortcut.
7.4
Travelling through Italy to find the best small towns and we decided to stop in Urbino. The Hotel Bonconte is in a very convenient position as long as you realise it is in a one way street and access is from only one entrance to the old town of Urbino. The hotel staff are very professional and the hotel itself very comfortable. We imagine in summer it would be even more beautiful.

5.6
Rooms are not clean at all. Both rooms had a long black hairs in both bathrooms. Didn't get parking, as was promised before reservation.

nice and friendly

My rating may seem all over the board but that's because we were booked into two different rooms; I'm considering what could have been as well as what actually happened. I don't know how hotels decide who stays in which room, but our reservations were made about 8 months prior to our stay so I can't believe they were fully booked at that time - especially in an August. That being said when we first checked into the Bonconte we were shown to an upper room that was built into the dormer. I'm a pretty tall woman, and if I was to stand up on my side of the bed, I would have hit my head. In the bath I would have had to stand with my head in the sky light to shower. The wallpaper at the head of the bed where others had rested was greasy. I don't know what we would have done about accommodations in Urbino if they didn't have another room available, but we went to the front staff to express our dissatisfaction and since we were staying two nights they moved us to a very lovely room on the lower floor. It was elegant, of ample size, with a gorgeous view of the valley, with a complementary bowl of fruit and candies. The staff were kind and helpful with sufficient English. The breakfast is not included so we opted to eat outside the hotel, but from what we could observe it seemed to offer an ample selection. The location made it easy to come and go by car to explore Le Marche. Would I return to Bonconte? Yes, but only if I could choose the same room we stayed in this time.
9.1
Set in abundant hills, this hotel has character. It has a small garden shaded by fig trees for breakfast (v. good), and a terrace overlooking the ancient landscape to lounge on, so no need to feel hemmed into your room. It retains the charm of a family-run pensione without being intrusive.Everything is within easy walking distance. Highly recommended!
Great hotel, location ideal, free parking. We had room 114 which was a suite with spectacular views of the surrounding countryside. Urbino is a very quiet place but as we found it to be a very interesting hill top town that was well worth the time spent there, which was 2 days.
8.9
I stayed one night in Urbino during my trip in Italie. It is a nice town. The Hotel is in the centre of the town. I enjoyed my time there very much
We much enjoyed our stay in spacious and very quiet rooms, also very good service and a superb location. However, hotel text ought to include a warning for those arriving by bus! It seemed no distance to walk, but even with taking the lift, the narrow, very steep and cobbled lanes down to the Hotel made dragging our cases not only difficult but exhausting.Do advise people to take a taxi from the bus station!

Too noisy service room at the morning
7.7
We had a quiet room facing the interior garden. The hotel is very close to the center; parking is also available - you get a special permit from the hotel. Breakfast was excellent. I found the hotel a little pricey for the comfort it offered, but again Urbino is pretty expensive so I guess it was OK after all. Get a good map since it can be hard to find it if you arrive at night.
A lovely hotel, highly recommended, in an old villa in lovely quiet position just inside the walls but only 5 mins walk (uphill) to centre. We had the largest of the standard rate rooms, Room 106, and although not large it was perfectly adequate with a lovely view out to lawns and trees and not overlooked. A small corridor outside the room led to a terrace with lovely views over the surrounding hills to the front of the hotel. At 77 euros per night plus 11 euros each for breakfast it was very good value. The breakfast buffet was superb, served outside in the garden or inside. 24 hour bar/snacks service. Trattoria del Leone and Le Tre Piante (with outdoor terrace) good value local restaurants. Friendly staff. English spoken. Felt very comfortable. Would definitely stay there again if we go back to Urbino - hope we do!John and Gerry Barton

The clietele varied in age, seemed quite educated, and was not an outwardly affluent group -- teachers, young couples, etc. We stayed in one of the lowest priced rooms, and it was quite small, with no windows. However, it was sparkling clean, quiet, and had skylights that opened up to the outside, which was really a fun touch.
This is a really nice hotel in a wonderful little city. The staff were excellent and the hotel was great value for money. However, if I have one quibble, it is that although rated as a four star hotel, the room I stayed in was not four star standard (to be fair the cost of my stay was not four star either). I would certainly recommend this hotel to anyone who has the good fortune to visit Urbino.
piccole camere sotto il tetto. L'hotel 4 stelle non aveva assolutamente percisato che al sistemazione era in relazione al livello di prezzo pagato
9.4
The hotel offered another hotel of their group, named San Domenico situated in the city center and more spacious.Only one unfunctioning equipment was room safe.
9.2
The only place in Italy where we didn't get breakfast as part of the deal. They said that Venere customers don't get breakfast and have to pay 11 euro per person.
We had requested a quiet room at the rear which was spacious, peaceful and very clean. Ensuite bathroom had only a small bath. Front rooms have glorious countryside views, quiet at night but during the day the main road outside the city walls was busy with noisey traffic Reception staff very friendly and helpful. Suggested good restaurants for meals within walking distance of the hotel. We travelled by car and found parking outside the hotel easy (hotel provided us with a parking permit and the hotel is on a one way street which gets very little traffic. If arriving at the main bus station it would be about a 10 minute walk to the hotel(steep uphill for 5 minutes and then downhill for 5 minutes) All in all would love to visit this beautiful city again staying at the Bonconte of course
The staff were very helpful in finding us a restaurant and organising a birthday cake for our 3 year old son. When we arrived the staff were a bit slow in checking us in and were not particularly forthcoming about what to do in Urbino etc.
The staff at the Bonconte were very helpful. I would stay here again.
6.4
Buon albergo, trovo eccessivo il prezzo di 11 Euro per la prima colazione, però è disponibile un abbondante buffet
8.2
somewhat rundown and old for a 4 star hotel, but the price is really low, so it's OK.
Hotel Bonconte was a fine value for the money. It is located on a tiny street down the hill from the city. (Remember to ask for a parking permit to park on the street.) Bring your walking shoes! This is a hill town and very charming, but you must walk up from the hotel and it is a steep climb. We each had a single room, and though they were small, they were extremely clean and well cared for. The staff went out of their way to help us with information. Urbino is off the beaten path for most tourists, so it is a welcome respite from the crowds.
6.1
This hotel is in a great location. The room was large and clean. There was a bar right under our window, and was very noisy through most of the night. The windows were not insulated enough and every little noise came through as though the window was open. Other than that, it was nice enough.
8.8
Hotel Bonconte was fine in every way, especially the helpfulness of the front desk personnel. My only complaint would be the noise level. It is near the city walls of Urbino, and the front of the hotel is just above a traffic circle which cars seemed to use all night long. I recommend the hotel, but our room in the front, with view, also came with lots of noise. Ask for a room in the back.
breakfast was not included in the quoted price and although very good was quite expensive so we paid more than we anticipated
A very nice hotel. Very quiet with spectacular views. Staff were very good and friendly. No restaurant, but there are plenty in the town, a shoret walk up the hill.
The receptionists were very gracious and extended themselves to be not just accommodating but quite helpful. Upon arrival I found that I had lost my passport or it was stolen somewhere prior to Urbino. The receptionists called back to our previous hotel, got the passport number and assisted as interpreters with the local policia in filing a report.
We found the hotel very easily, were able to park outside as we had no need of a car while visiting Urbino. The view from the front of the hotel is stunning and a short walk from the centre of a very interesting and historic small Italian provincial town. You couldn't chose a better place to stay in Urbino. (Being able to park the car so handily was a huge plus.)
A fine, small hotel; we had an excellent room. Breakfast was not included (which we knew in advance) and was pricey, so we skipped it and ate elsewhere...but that was not a problem. The location is excellent...at the edge of the town, along the walls. It's a short and beautiful walk to the top of the hill and the center of the town. We arrived by car, parked easily near the hotel, and didn't have to move the car until we left town. There was no additional charge to park. The directions provided were inadequate, but Urbino is small and we had a map, so that is not a big deal. Also, the photos/description do not do justice to the hotel: it's better than we expected.
9.5
We experienced Bonconte as a wonderful hotel very near to the center of Urbino.
Very elegant, excellent service, beautiful views of countryside. I'd definitely stay there again!
Charming hotel. Breakfast on the garden terrace was a real treat and the same area was a very pleasant place to sit out of the sun in the afternoon
Nice hotel, but air conditioning was a little weak by USA standards(yet not intolerable); some rooms had low bath room ceilings, making a stand up shower impossible (my 6 foot tall son had to sit or kneel in tub to wash); location is on opposite side of town from bus stop (a strenuous hike w/ luggage)-- hotel shuttle (pickup / drop off) service would be appreciated given the price paid for a room!
Excellent hospitallity and service. Very friendly and helpful staff.
We stayed in 4-star hotels in 7 Italian cities on this trip, and the Bonconte was by far the best hotel we stayed in. Very nice little hotel, and very reasonably priced. We highly recomment it. Ron & Pat Jones Hong Kong
Rooms are tastefully decorated, remote control air conditioning, modern bathroom. Excellent room and service for the price we paid. The breakfast on the terrasse was lovely.
Very pleasant environment with very helpful people Tony Wade
Bonconte is a 4* hotel in Urbino. We had one of the cheaper rooms so had good facilities for our money. The buffet breakfast catered for all tastes and nationalities.
No evening meal if required. Breakfast little expensive but ok
we have been visitng italy for 7 years as our main holiday and this was by far the best all round hotel we have stayed in.
The room was rather small for 2 people and 2 big suitcases.Staff and location were excellent.
A Beautiful Hotel in a very good location for Urbino. Parking was in a free public area about 5 minutes walk from the hotel.
Every staff person was helpful and friendly. Great breakfast. Great location though a bit difficult to find; better directions would help. Very restful, we would definitely recommend this hotel.
My stay at Bonconte was exactly as I wanted it to be.
7.2
Lovely hotel in the historic city of Urbino.
Bonconte is a great value place to stay. The staff are very welcoming and rooms comfortable. The only downsides would be that parking is limited, and breakfasts rather basic.
The room allocated was small but adequate being located in the roof space. The location of the Hotel itself was ideal being just within the city walls with potential views over the surrounding countryside, our window was in the roof!
Very satisfactory. Help in carrying in suitcases would have been welcome. Very good buffet breakfast. Car parking was some way from the hotel outside the city walls which was not very reassuring.
By car From the A14 motorway, take the Pesaro exit and follow signs to Urbino (S.S. 423 Urbinate national road). Once in Urbino, follow the indications to centro (city centre) and then to Hotel Bonconte. The hotel is located within the ancient walls of the city.
Parking facilities available within close proximity of the hotel.A transfer service to and from the airport or railway station can be arranged upon request.
