We were disappointed that Venere description said there was a free hotel service to the airport, that was my primary reason for booking, we were told that was only summer but their car was sitting outside - taxi cost us 15 euros. Otherwise very happy with the accomodation, lovely people on the desk and big breakfast. Couldn't get us any English TV !!

This is my third stay at the Fortuna. When I eventually return to Ancona, then I would definitely return. It is either a bus ride or a good walk to the city centre (I always walk). The train station is just across the road, which is great for early starts.

The hotel was very conveniently located; literally across the street from the train station. The rooms were larger than normal and clean and quiet, if a little old-fashioned.

Many might see Ancona as a jump-off point for Croatia or Greece but it is woth staying there for a couple of days not only to visit the parts of the od town that survive but also the surrounding area such as the zoo at Falconara, the castle at Gradara and the aquarium at Cattolica.

This was the first time we had visited Ancona and found the hotel location ideal for a stay of 2 to 3 days. Because the hotel is across the road from the train station there was no long walks with heavy luggage and a very frequent bus service was available to easily access the town centre. The hotel room was spacious and clean and the hotel staff were all pleasant and helpful. The drawback for this hotel is that there are few restaurants in the near vicinity and most of Ancona shuts on a Sunday.

The hotel is situated in a perfect location, excessible to the train and bus. This was my 1st stay at the Hotel Fortuna, on my way to Rome. The staff was very helpful and pleasant, and I would definitely recommend this hotel. I enjoyed the breakfast offered.

Low marks on service due to 1 employee who was on reception when we arrived 15/07/07 (around 12.30pm ish.) He was very rude and gave us extremely misleading information regarding train access at Falcona Airport- saying that the nearest station was 2 miles away from the airport, when in fact there is a railway station on the airport complex itself! He also gave us incorrect timings for the bus service to the airport. Why????? Other employees were very helpful and friendly.

excellent accomodation and personnel absolutely lovely. it's not very close to downtown though, and public transportation in ancona is not too good. i really enjoy my staying there and do recommend it.

Fortuna is an older hotel, but good value for your money. The washrooms are very spacious, everything works well, be advised if you need Wi-Fi that they only offer it on the first 3 floors, so ensure you get a room on those levels if you have a laptop. Very clean. The only downside is that all the restaraunts around the hotel are terrible, but because of the location of the bus/train station to the hotel, you can access just about any part of the city with relative ease. The breakfast is free, and therefore, not top notch, but if you like croissants and cold cereal, you will enjoy the selection. It's much better than anywhere else in Ancona, and it's included. Skip the coffee.

This is my second stay at this hotel, and I would have no problem returning for a third time. Apart from being conveniently situated opposite Ancona Railway Station, the hotel is very comfortable, the rooms are very clean and the staff are all very courteous and helpful.

The only offered Hotel in Ancona near to the main station, no parking included, bad entrance, very loud in the night (maybe there is a factory in the neighbourhood. Fortunatelly the (day)employees were very friendly on the phone and during the stay.

The whole hotel was immaculately clean. My room was comfortable and spacious. All the amenities worked perfectly. My bedroom was at the back of the hotel, so was quiet and peaceful at night. The hotel is situated directly opposite Ancona train station, which suited my purposes. The staff were efficient. I would happily stay at this hotel again if I ever return to Ancona.

Hotel Fortuna was well located to the railway station. The facilities were adequate, and the room (at the back of the hotel)was very clean and quiet. Excellent value for money. The staff were very helpful and friendly - and even assisted in getting us to the hotel from the ferry terminal in the rain when there were not taxis.

The hotel is just across the road from the central station. The exterior was not as good as the interior. Very helpful staff and room was good and quiet. Breakfast was not as good as the rest of the hotel. This was a one night stop over on way to Venice so would stay here again. Within walking distance to nice restaurant area.
