An excellent choice for a stay in Ravenna. Very good value for money. Close to everything, easy to reach the station, local transit, restaurants and shops and the main piazza. Top marks for friendliness and helpfulness of staff. Rooms small but clean and stylish. Fresh, high quality breakfast provided daily. Definitely would return and would recommend to others without qualification.

The first room I got was loud but they changed it immediately, the bath room was very small. The breakfast was good, the location is excellent, within the area pedonale, just 1 minute from Piazza del Popolo! So, the hotel exceeded my standard.

We had 2 nights in two "economy" rooms. The "economy" classification refers to the size of the rooms. It is good enough for 1-3 nights, but definitely not suitable for longer vacation. The hotel offers "normal" rooms as well, choose one of those if you plan beach activities. The hotel staff is excellent, friendly, helpful. They helped us a lot finding parking, good restaurant (try the home made pasta in La Gardela nearby - perfect!!). This accomodation is value for money, you get exactly what was promised and what you expect.

The hotel was within 2 minutes of the tourist office where they offer free bicycle hire, the best way to take in all the sites around the city. Breakfast was adequate enough for us to skip lunch!

The hotel is in a "traffic limited zone", so it's very quiet. The bedroom was modest in size, but the bathroom was surprisingly spacious. A small fridge was a welcome amenity. Everything was clean and well maintained. The people at the reception spoke good English and were helpful and friendly.

We would definitely recommend the Centrale Byron. It's perfectly situated in the center of the historic district. Our room was clean and nicely appointed, the staff was very professional and polite, and the breakfast buffet was excellent with very attentive servers. The hotel isn't hard to find since there are signs directing you towards the hotel throughout Ravenna. After unloading luggage, parking is another matter. Make sure to ask the staff to trace on the map they provide the best way to get to the parking since many of the roads are one way. The public parking lot for 2.5 Euros a day just west of the Museo Nazionale is just a short 10 minute walk down the Via C. Cavour to the hotel and is a great option.

Staff was terrific! Coould not have asked for nicer people. Hotel location is spectacular, 4 doors away from main square. Room was minimal sized, just barely enough for one person, but do-able. One-meter square stall shower was impossible, with folding doors that did not keep the water off the floor. Ask for a bath!

We loved being the heart of Ravenna and easy walking to restaurants and sites. Knowing you cannot drive in Ravenna we parked outside of the city and walked in in hopes of making it easier to find our hotel. It still took us one hour to find the hotel. The staff was then very helpful in giving us directions to approach the hotel and drop of baggage and then drive to the parking area. The hotel itself was very nice and clean and welcoming. We did not appreciate the reception person smoking however. We understood that Italy no longer allows smoking indoors. There was no smoking in any of the rooms or the breakfast room. The buffet for breakfast was very good and servers were wonderful and efficient.

A very pleasant and central hotel, very nicely refurbished. The bathroom, in particular was super and the staff extremely helpful in letting us check our email. Breakfast was good BUT the air-conditioning was centrally controlled and switched off in the night. Each night I awoke hot and opened a window, so getting badly bitten at one stage by mosquitoes.

We stayed here for the first time and certainly will come back! The hotel is perfectly located, clean and well refurbished. The breakfast was lovely and all staff very helpful. This hotel is better than my expectation. The room is spacious and clean. Atomosphere of the room is better than the pictures on the wab page. One of the best thing is breakfast. The quality of bread, ham and juice is the best during my travel. I can enjoy breakfast. No need to say, the location is the best! It's center of Ravenna.

The room was ok the location was excellent. You couldn't be more central. Breakfast (included was good. You can't drive into central Ravenna unless you tell the hotel your number plate so you don't receive a fine in the mail when you get home. The cr park is a good 10 minute walk with luggage to the hotel, but only 2.50 euro per day.

Had a great time. Ravenna is a gem. Getting to the hotel with a car (to drop bags) is a real mind-bender, so pack light and walk. The 'Centrale' in the name is well-deserved. The rooms were clean and nice for an inexpensive hotel...a much needed price break from Venezia!

We wanted to be right in the historic center of Bologna & this hotel is certainly there! We had our auto with us & the staff suggested we park it in a nearby piazza & we could pay the Hotel for the parking permit which was 7 euro for 24 hours. This was a great solution as we were somewhat worried about where we would find a place. The parking area was less than a block behind the Hotel and it worked out perfectly. I have to admit that we were pleasantly surprized by the nice decoration of the room we occupied and its feel of comfortable coziness. All the staff were quite friendly & helpful and we regretted we had so little time on this trip for Bologna. We definitely plan to go back soon and I would certainly stay at this hotel again.

The location is very good, right in the middle of everything. If you arrive by car, be aware the central district is closed to unauthorised traffic and you'll get a fine unless you ask hotel reception to notify the authorities that you are a guest there and so can drop off/collect luggage. Good, cheap parking available nearby.

Everything was good. The location of hotel is excellent - near the centre square of city, but it was no noise in the room. The only problem was that I couldn`t recive any fax information about my reservation, which I needed for making visa to Italy. The hotel manager answered me one time and didn't answer to my other letters :( But offline contacts with personnel were nice.

The hotel was ideally located, just off the main square, however, my room facing the street was noisy. The configuration of the very small bathroom was a bit dangerous, with the edge of the shower stall right up against the room needed for the door to open inside the bathroom. I tripped on it a couple of times just trying to get through the door. Also, the front desk person forgot to return my passport when I left and since I didn't discover this until I got to the next town, I was obliged to return to get it. I think it is the responsibility of the hotel to return passports without having to ask for them or at least to make some kind of amends when they forget.

There was major resurfacing work being done in the street on which the hotel main entrance is. Although we were changed to a room looking towards the back in order to avoid noise, other residents must have been woken up early - should there not have been a warning at the time of booking and was there a discount for affected clients? The room furnishing were clean but looked a little "tired", the stairs and vast staircase area looked a bit like those in a 1950s hospital and the lift was tiny.

My husband, two kids and I spent one night at Hotel Byron. It is in an excellent location, just off the main piazza. The price was right for the accomodation and area. It was what I expected. It was basic, the beds were comfortable. No private baths is a problem. The breakfast was not good. If they bought a few fresh croissants each day, or even supplied a toaster it would make a big difference. Also, there were no telephone books so one couldn't even phone a taxi or look up friends in different hotels. We walked everywhere, so the location while a bit futher than some hotels from the action was not too far. It was only a few blocks from the train station so we could walk faster than a cab could get us there. The people were lovely, kind and really wanting to be helpful. It was spotlessly clean. The matress was the most comfortable of the entire trip of 17 days. For the price, I'd stay there again.

We were two couples who arrived just as the World Cup finals were beginning in the nearby square. Although we were only briefly in the room before going out to join the crowd we noticed how quiet the room was. The room was small but very well appointed, modern and clean. Breakfast was excellent and the staff very helpful and friendly, allowing us to leave our bags in the office a few hours after checkout. It was an easy walk from the train station with backpacks, and a great location for viewing the mosaics. I would definitely stay here again. We had lunch at the central Market's cafeteria which was very good. Of course we loved being there for the final and the mosaics, and found the people of this lovely town very hospitable.

The hotel is right in the middle of the town, so it's the perfect place to start from for a tour of the town's monuments, since there is plenty of them in very little space: you can always get back to the hotel for a little rest.
