We have no idea why this was rated as a 4 star hotel! It shares nothing in common with any other 4 star hotel we have ever been in. In fact, it might be more appropriately rated as a 1 or 2 star accommodation. Here is a list of what was missing: no elevator, no help with luggage up and down stairs, no restaurant, no bar, no lobby, no parking, no towels for the nearby beach. The on-line directions to reach the hotel were completely wrong. We were lost for over an hour and when we finally found the correct village, there was no way to find the hotel without asking for help from the locals. The bathroom facilities were clean enough, but the towels were worn so thin you could almost see through them, and after drying my face with one hand towel I noticed disgusting brown stains on it. Here is what you can expect to get for your four star price: a very basic room with white walls, no decorations, and twin beds (despite requesting a double), a basic and acceptable breakfast, and a nice view of the Talamone area from the rooftop patio which closes at 7 pm. If you go with the expectation that you will be staying in a 4 star hotel, you will definitely be disappointed.

Location is nice, personnel kind and friendly but not speaking English well. No taxi, almost impossible to find bus, dont go there without car!!! Not even boat to visit Porto St Stefano that is 10 km on the other side... No kayak, no windsurf, no tenniscourt, no swimmingpool in the vicinity, the beach is rocky and dangerous. Nice view from the top of the rocks.
We made this reservation at the last minute as we were looking for some beach time within a reasonable distance from the Rome Airport on our last day before departure. Unfortunately we lost a couple of hours trying to find the hotel, which is in Tanamone, not in Orbatello, which is what the info on the website indicated. The room was very crowded and we had trouble finding room for our suitcases; however, the bathroom was huge and newly renovated. Apparently there are rooms with balconies, but they were all taken. The beach, which was lovely, was only a few minutes away from the hotel. Breakfast was disappointing, and the hotel doesn't have a single iron or ironing board available.

First of all, Talamone is a gem of a small town on the rocks above the ocean. During the 3 days we were there, we only met 1 other american but his family had a house there. The town has several tasty restaurants but the beauty of the town comes from the Etruscan fort that sits on the top of the hill right above the Hotel Il Telamonio. Room are very small but comfortable. Our daughter's single room was so small the shower sits above the toilet. Our room was a bit bigger with a small balcony overlooking a small piazza. Breakfasts are well stocked with local pastries, meats, cheeses, etc. The desk staff was not so friendly but the rest were helpful. My only complaint is that the pics on their web site are deceiving. the roof top swimming pool is the size of a hot tub not the large pool on the front page of their web site. I would recommend Il Telamonio since it is so centrally located and the town is so fantastic. Also seek out Il Burrata, the restaurant in the hills outside of town. One of the best outdoor farm eating places we have been

We had a very pleasant stay at Hotel Il Telamonio. Great cafes and bars nearby, but the hotel was quiet.

Our first visit and we are recommending it to friends. It was just as we had hoped - a small quiet pretty village with good restaurants, harbour, enough shops for basics, helpful tourist information about access to nearby nature reserves. The hotel was in the central square but very quiet at night (the church clock was turned off), well sign-posted and well-run with good buffet breakfast. We liked the roof terrace with jacuzzi and close access down to (stony) beach for swimming. They arranged free parking nearby.

This hotel is in a beautiful location that is mostly populated with Italian tourists. The whole town has just a few restaurants - mostly on the pricey side, and a beautiful harbor. The hotel is high on a hill with an amazing view of the water surrounding the town. You will need to park your car high on a hill above the hotel - about 5 minute walk. Staff is very friendly and helpful. Breakfast is excellent. We spent a day on the Island of Giglio which you can get to on a ferry boat from San Stefano - a short ride away. Beaches were limited, but swimming is wonderful. Giglio has wonderful character.
