The hotel staff was friendly and helpful. Some of the ameneties were lacking . . . the pool was green, the bed/pillows were very lumpy, etc. With decent economy/discount hotels lacking in the area, this was the best of the bunch.

Nice hotel by Cuban standards. Furniture and other equipment was quite old, but so it is almost always in Cuba. The staff was friendly and helped quickly. Possibility to take private salsa classes. Hotel breakfast was ok, buffet with different options. Location is not very central, but within walking distance from many sights in Santiago de Cuba. Restaurant Pizza Nova at the nearby Melia hotel is very nice.
