This simple and cosy property offers 52 fully equipped guest rooms, as well as a reception open 24 hours, a terrace, two fully equipped meeting rooms with a capacity of up to 100 people, an Internet Point, a bar and a restaurant with a terrace.

double room The property offers spacious single and double rooms featuring nice furnishings and a private bathroom with hairdryer. All of the rooms are furthermore equipped with telephone, individually controlled air conditioning, cable TV, mini bar, writing desk and safety box. The rooms also feature a private balcony. Baby cots, ironing facilites and non-smoking rooms are available upon request.
A copious breakfast buffet is served every morning from 7 a.m. to 10 a.m. in the cosy breakfast room.

the rooms with a window opening on the street are nice, but the rooms opening on the inside galery are very uncomfortable. However the price is the same. So when you make in reservation in this hotel INSIST to have a room whith a window on Obispo street.

We stayed in Ambos Mundos between Mar 10 and Mar 13 2008. Overall the hotel was what we expected, great history, not perfect quality. Our room was huge (following a CUC10 tip to the bell-boy) we actually got the one 2 floors below Hemingway's (306) with 3 balconies overlooking the old town. Beware that some of the rooms actually don't even have a window at all! 2 problems with the staff: (1) after some time it became a bit obnoxious how all the bell-boys offered us cigars to buy claiming that their brother worked in the factory (the chances of all of them working there are rather slim :) ) (2) we asked for a taxi for the morning of our check-out as we needed to catch a bus. As it never materialized, the (rather chubby) receptionist lady, was anything but friendly to our request for assistance (it was actually their fault as they forgot to order it) in fact refusing to do anything about it. It was clear that she followed a "no tip - no help" policy... On the upside, trully great breakfast on the roof.

Have not completed all sections as not qualified to comment as a quick, first time visitor BUT I am very concerned about our treatment at Ambos Mundos. You know we paid for two nights months in advance consciously choosing that hotel. On our arrival we were advised it was not possible for us to stay as all the rooms were full. I asked how this could be since I had all the emails showing confirmation. No reason was given simply a statement it wasn't only us but other guests too had to move. We made an emphatic case but no good. The hotel we were sent to was OK but the location was not nearly as good - we'd chosen Ambos Mundos for its location to what we wanted to visit. Ambus Mundos insisted we return to them for the second night even though we preferred not to move once we were in one hotel. Also the email said that 6 peusos an hour applied to internet. Reception staff said they had sell me a card but their computer was "not connected". This may have been a language thing but I had an emergency need for internet so was disappointed. Lift was hard to access as small and old and lots of tourists not staying in hotel using it. As you can see we were very unhappy.

As we were only staying for one night the hotel stuck is in a room with no window, not even an internal window looking over the courtyard. Very claustrophobic and wouldn't want to stay there for more than one night.
DISTANCES From the beach: 20 minutes by car.From La Habana-José Martà international airport: 25 minutes by car.
Guests can park their cars for free in the hotel's private parking, which is located two blocks from the property.
The property features simple and comfortable guest rooms whith private balcony and all the necessary amenities to ensure a pleasant stay.
The bar is open during the whole day and is perfect to have a coffee or a drink at any time.
