It was the first time i had stand at Hotel Altstadt Spandau. The breakfast was very good. But i do not like when i book one single and one doubble room that they are in diffrent houses. The rooms aren`t as beautiful as on the website. In the single room the tv didn`t works when we arrived. The Welcome wasen`t very friendly but the men on the office was nice. He gave us a new single room because of the didn`t working TV.

Dark, old room and forniture. Strong smell of dust everywhere:curtains, moquette, armchairs, tapestry. No soap bar, no bath-gel, no hairdryer available, shower door broken. Extra small bathroom, I couldn't move! Room at 2nd floor without lift. Pictures on website completely different (much better!)to the room I got. I will never come back there again. 75€ for a single room! That's really to much for this hotel, so far from Berlin centre.Question: does a TV is enough to get the 3-star level?? By the way, TV-remote control was broken....

OK for a cheap hotel in the Berlin area - Spandau is 25 minutes on a frequent, direct train line from the bits of Berlin you'd actually want to visit.

Friendly staff, good breakfast, nice sourrounding--however, what I got was a room in the lower basement/cellar!--on the same level with the heating room, etc., etc.--not the place where one wants to stay when visiting a wedding--or when staying longer than one day in Berlin The 3-bed-room room was spacious--but quite old--no (!!) wardrobe (actually--a completely broken one), not even a place where one could have hung a coat--slightly cracked walls (the whole room looks as if waiting for a renovation and being used as a storage room for various things, TV-sets, etc.)--quite dark (only very small windows on the upper part), not very pleasant. It wouldn't be so much of a problem if one would be told what to expect--because the brochure looks quite good. Even for 60 Euros/single one could have expected a bit more. I will not recommend this place any further, however, the upper rooms might be OK--just avoid room no. 32 (and there is another one next to it).
