hotel front view The Edwardian San Francisco is a quaint boutique hotel with a distinctive European flavour located in downtown San Francisco, close to many of the city's popular attractions including Union Square, the Moscone Center and Chinatown. Situated on Market Street, it lies within walking distance to the Performing Arts District, Main Library, Civic Center, Convention Halls, antique shops, the newly renovated City Hall and numerous fancy restaurants. With front door access to the city's major transportation facilities, guests will discover ease in reaching destinations anywhere in the Metropolitan Bay Area, as well as any of San Francisco's numerous points of interest and entertainment. Services and amenities include free Wi-Fi Internet access on the first floor and 24-hour complimentary tea and coffee. Renovated in Autumn 2005, the hotel now features a newly opened wine bar serving international wines and mediterranean food.

double room deluxe The property features comfortable and finely decorated standard, deluxe and European rooms, all recently refurbished and each designed to provide guests with a warm, intimate atmosphere. All rooms feature fresh flowers and provide cable TV, Internet access, clock radio, direct dial telephone, hairdryer, ironing facilities and bistro table with chair.

When we arrived at the hotel after travelling for many hours, the receptionist said he had no record of our reservation through venere!! He rang the owner but when that call ended he said the owner had been no help. We didn't know whether to laugh or cry. He then said he'd give us a room and deal with other bookings when they arrived! We were tired so were happy to have a room at all, but it was small, dark and shabby. The light in the bathroom didn't work, there was no shower curtain nor towels. Towels arrived that day, the light was fixed the next day, and a shower curtain appeared the day after that. Unfortunately the room stayed the same. On the plus side, the people on reception seemed pleasant enough, but avoid this hotel if you can.

Hotel quite expensive for the service provided: small rooms, common restrooms & bathrooms. Overall is clean, the employee at the door is nice. The surroundings have some homeless in the streets, but didn't look so dangerous.
By airplane The San Francisco International Airport (SFO) lies around 16 miles/25.7 km from the hotel. Approximate driving time is 20 minutes. Take 101 N to the Civic Center Exit, then take the Ocatavia St Exit and turn right on Market St. Proceed for 2 blocks and the hotel is on the left after Gough St.
