Competence of employees: Just one person could talk English. And the next day there wasn't anybody who could talk English to us, just Italian. So, we couldn't complain about: - The bed that there was a broken shelf. - And when we arrived, in the evening, there was no hot water in the shower. In the morning this was solved. Hotel surroundings: - The view to the lake is perfect. - The road to the hotel is terrible. We could hardly find the hotel in the evening because it wasn't in the village of Plesio but in Ligomena. We have surged for more than 2 hours in the dark. The road to the hotel, well let's say and pray when you have to ride there in to the dark.

Only one drawback, the rooms are not sound proofed. Apart from that very enjoyable. meals are very good, staff are very helpful and welcoming. The views from the balcony are to die for.

cheap hotel but you dont get much. loud(restaurant downstairs and the street) and hot without an aircon. wouldn't stay longer than 2 days. but the few from the restaurant was really fantastic. the dinner is cheap and good, but don't try the breakfast

The hotel should be easy to find once you see signs for Plesio. It is difficult to get to unless you have your own transportation. The webpage picture of the hotel is misleading because I didn't expect the hotel to be halfway up a mountain. Because of this, the hotel affords beautiful views of Lake Como which was unexpected. Don't book this hotel if you're expecting a spa or any of the other ammenities mentioned. Some exist, some do not. Book this hotel if you want a good value for your money in the beautiful Lake Como district AND make sure you try their restaurant if you love fresh fish. Most of the staff do not speak English but they were helpful and hospitable anyway. The breakfast is ok but make sure you are aware that it is not included with the price. Finally, please be aware that the roads in this part of Italy are very small. They are barely wide enough to fit approaching midsize cars. Pray you do not encounter a truck on the opposite lane.

Fantastic views over Lake Como. Lovely village location with local shop and bar and frequent bus service to Menaggio. Ideal for numerous walks and hill climbing. Excellent food in hotel restaurant and friendly helpful staff.Highly recommended.Room 14 is special with its own elevated patio and lake view.

The staff was very welcoming, view from the room was fantastic and the restaurant in the hotel has the best pizza that we had in Italy! We very much recommend visiting this hotel, we had a great time!

There weren't enough rooms, so the manager gave us an appartment. Apparently it was great, but there were two rooms with a double bed and a bunk bed each. And a toilet with a shower. I'd have preferred a bath, but it was ok after all. The location was really nice, but in my opinion too far away from Menaggio, so we couldn't go out at night, because the road is too bendy. The restaurant is really good, superb pizzas for a budget price. All in all, an excellent choice!

The room was large, simple and clean, although outdated. It was very hot and humid and since there was not any air-conditioning or a fan it was a must to keep the window open to cool the room some in the summer. Unfortunately our room was located on the street and it was very noisy: dogs barking all night, traffic, people talking loudly. It was impossible to sleep between the noise and the heat. The pizzeria was good and affordable and the view of the lake is nice, but I would not stay here again. It's worth to it pay more for a good nights sleep.

Only some staff speak English, but others are very happy to try and communicate with you. Hotel is really out of the way and the bus times are infrequent, so a car is recommended - but there is a bus from outside the door of the hotel to Menaggio. Beautiful view! The restaurant in the hotel does very good pizza.

The breakfast is deserving of special mention. The terraces are excellent but the car parking is limited. From our balcony the views to the lake and mountains were wonderful. However, ensure no school trips are expected during your stay. All the staff were friendly and extremely helpful. The evening menu is excellent value for money.

The only positive thing to say- great views. The facilities and services offered are non existant- if you want a spa, sauna or anything else they promise- you have to head into town! Bad advertising and poor staff!

Chambre correcte mais pas toujours bien rangée. Petit déjeuner copieux. Bon restaurant (surtout les pizzas) d'un bon rapport qualité prix bien que cuisine un peu trop grasse. Bière pression un peu chère. La vue sur le lac depuis la terrasse est très belle dommage que toutes les chambres ne donnent pas sur le lac. Bon rapport qualité prix dans l'ensemble.

Very pleasant hotel in a very quiet place. Menaggio is very near (approximately 5-10 minutes by car). The rate price/quality is excellent.

Estuvimos en agosto. El servicio fue excelente y la habitación muy tranquila (y con hermosas vistas al lago). Sin duda, lo mejor el servicio, tanto del personal de recepción como en el área de restauración, nos trataron muy bien y el ambiente era muy cordial, familiar y acogedor;las cenas, excelentes (sobretodo por las deliciosas pizzas). El único punto débil es la accesibilidad al hotel, pero merece la pena.

Well even though most of the other reviews are positive I do not agree with them. Positive: Nice views, good price, really good breakfast. Negative: Dirty rooms (spider webs in the corners, etc), a lot of noise. Our room faced a disco club and it was right above the kitchen, so every time we were opening the windows... noise & smells. At 6 am a rooster started to "sing" so we were forced to wake up prety early. Not a nice experince, I would not re-visit the place.

Great room overlooking lake Como. Make sure to get room number 14 with the balcony. Yummy food at the restaurant downstairs made by the owners wife. Really enjoyed our stay and will definitely visit again.

Nice view on the lake, Varenna and Bellagio. The hotel is 10/15 minutes far from Menaggio with a car but restaurant within the hotel is OK, prices reasonnable and view on the lake.

We've had a nice stay in this very well hotel. The welcome, the rooms and the Wellness area were clean and comfortable. We did not expect to get full board as it was not mentioned on the webpage, but in fact we got, and it was very good. But there was one big issue which spoiled the whole stay - there was a discotheque without noise protection within the hotel building, and they played techno music until 03:30 in the morning on saturday! It was so loud that the walls were vibrating. We had no chance to sleep. And there was nobody that really understood english (or they did not want to?).
