The flat on top of the building could have been excellent. But the mainproblem is the terrible noise of the Aircondittioning machine on top of the building which is making terrible noise day and night. So it is very hard to sleep which makes your stay in Rome very hard. there is also allways the smell in the flat of the pizzahouse on the groundfloor. Kitchen is very poor, even not a micre-wave. The location was excellent and the windows are good so that you don 't have problems with the street noise. The welcoming lady was very friendly.

This was Waaaaay better than a hotel. It's your own private 2-roomed apartment. Theres quite a good Bathroom with bidet (shower was a bit tight); a cute little Kitchenette with fridge for your own breakfasts and snacks; quite a large Living room with flat-screen TV separate from the Bedroom. The stairs are a bit tight & steep, but once inside its really quite spacious. And its right THERE! I mean, RIGHT there! The view is directly across the road to Piazza Navona. OK, its not brand-new (this IS Rome) but it has been done over very nicely in typical quaint style and was very clean - thanks Serena. The dble-glazed windows kill any noise and the air-cond was great (36deg+ and we slept like babies). This is an apartment so no concierge, no phone (who hasn't got a cell these days?), no laundry, no mini-bar, no pool, no internet. But who cares, outside, in the city is where its at?! There's a supermaket around the corner and restaurants galore within meters. All the sights, the shopping.....EVERYWHERE is within a 10 minute walk. If you don't quite get the 'Hotel' thing, prefer being close to the atmosphere, are a little self-sufficient and would rather 'discover' things for yourselves, this is VERY highly recommended.

My husband and I stayed here in May 08 for a week. We wanted an apartment, as we were going to be bringing our baby (in the end we didnt take the baby). The apartment was well fitted out and had everything we needed except for a laundry. The kitchen was very small, and only useful for cooking the most simple meals (we only used it once for cooking steak), but handy to have for breakfast and tea/coffee. The only two problems we had with the apartment was the lack of english TV channels (only BBC world) - for those chill out times and the stairs. We were on the top floor, which meant we had to climb about 8 sets of very steep and narrow stairs. Lucky we didnt also have to cart the pram and baby!! I do think they probably would have given us a lower floor if we had the baby, but if you have a problem with stairs definately request a lower floor (even if you dont have a problem with stairs!). On the whole though, a nice apartment which was very clean and well located (literally accross the road from Piazza Navona).
this is the first time we took a aprtmnt, and it was great. excellent location. just near piazza navona. 5 minw from the penteon. i really rocomend!

we have a 3 months baby.we were really happy when we saw the apartment.it was perfect for our baby. The location, the cleanliness...the kitchen was right. if we come back to rome we will chose the same place. thank you very much for making my holidays easier.
Two friends and I booked the apartment at Casa Navona for the Christmas time period. The location was perfect. Piazza Navona is literally right outside the front door. The Pantheon and Campo di Fiori within a 5 minute walk. Within a 20 minute walk of St. Peters and Ancient Rome...or just a short walk to the major bus routes. We booked apartment 1, but actually received apartment 2...but no problem. The stairs are not as steep as expected...but are stone and rather uneven which makes them a little dangerous...but we had packed light. The room had a double bed in a bedroom and a pullout sofa in the living room, so we thought we were going to have to share...as we had been told by the property manager. We were pleasently surprised to discover that the footstool in the living room folded out into a cot as well, so we had three beds. Even with the christmas market right across the street in the piazza, we could barely hear it with the windows closed. The downside to this is with the windows closed, the apartment got rather warm and the smell of pizza from the pizza shop on the ground floor filled the apartment.
Excellent adress

We were delayed but still met by a friendly Claudio who showed us all we needed to know. Very helpful service. Room was basic but very clean. Location was spot on, just minutes from all major sites (15-20 minutes walk to Collesium, 15 to Vatican, 10 to Spanish steps & Trevi fountain).

We have just returned from a fantastic weekend in Rome with friends. We have not stayed in an apartment before but we would now thoroughly recommend it. Casa Navona 1 is brilliant. Clean, spacious, quiet, secure and the apartment is yours, no interruptions from cleaning staff etc. We were on the top floor with views into the top of the Piazza Navona which is a wonderful central location. The only thing to consider is the stairs, they are quite steep. If you have mobility problems or young children ask for the lower apartments. Top tip: If you fly into Ciampino do not buy a bus ticket at the airport or on the flight. Local buses take you straight to Termini for 5 Euros. Grab a cab from there :)
American family: self, wife, 2 college-aged girls: Casa Navona was safe, clean, with private bath, across the street from the Piazza Navona. Claudio and Serena are as described. Very accomodating and accessable. One member of our family doesn't take the elevator, which was not a problem, because there isn't one. We had known this before booking. The stairs are steep but the railing is strong. (if you're in really bad shape, then stay elsewhere). We comfirmed our reservation in February for mid-May. With no further contact, we arrived on schedule and our apt. was waiting for us. Works for me.

ref. our e-mail dated 03.04.2006 - we thanks you for your very quick answer dated 04.04.2006.
The Casa Navona apartments are in a great location, are spacious, nicely renovated (with new kichenette, new bath, new electric, etc.). Overall I loved it. There were a couple of negatives: no elevator, a rubbish smell at the ground floor entry (non of which entered the apartment), a noisy street (which the windows almost completely sealed out), but most of all the furniture in the living room is extremely basic and banal, giving the room no character whatsoever. All in all I would stay there again though, for the location and size/value. Also, this is an apartment, so there are no maid or laundry services included.
We are a group of two adults and two grown-up children. The location of the apartment is superb and all major attractions within a walking distance. Piazza Navona is just across the street and this gives the neighbourhood an enjoyable feel. The soundproof glass in the windows means that the noise from the street can be shut out. The apartment is small but clean, in a very good general condition and has all that one requires for a short stay. We stayed during the height of summer and the airconditioning worked quite well. Serena Tino and other members of the staff were both professional and helpful. The only drawback is the lack of an elevator in the building and the narrow stairs, especially if one has to climb up to the fourth floor with a heavy suitcase.

I ended up staying at the apartment #2 in stead of #1. If you have a heavy luggage, you need good muscles to go up stairs since there is no elevator. The location is convenient to go everywhere, but it's quite noisy at weekend. The staffs are very courteous and nice.

The location of the apartment was excellent, within very close proximity to most attractions. It was a little disappointing that there weren't any tea/coffee supplies or even any salt and pepper! It can get quite loud outside if you have the windows open, but the double glazed glass keeps out all noise when shut. Overall, a very good stay.
The apartment is well located, comfortable, clean and sensibly furnished. The kitchen is fairly well equipped. Heat and hot water were good. Claudio Bertini was very pleasant and helpful. Our only issues were that we found the staircase difficult, particularly with luggage, and there should be more provision of hooks and shelving in the bathroom and kitchen particularly, for toiletries, food, towels, and so on. Some shelves in the living room and bedroom would be welcome, also, as would CNN.

Great location and very confortable stay. Only issue was insufficient hoy water for four consecutive showers.

the room was great and right in the middle of everything. the room was nice and spacious even for 4 people. claudio was very nice and helpful to us. definatly stay here if you can, it is worth the euro. building is also very secure.

Very nice place. Very convenient to restaurants, old Rome. Busy road beneath but excellent soundproof windows. One suggestion: ask guests in upper floors to take off shoes, especially late at night. Claudio (manager) welcomed us and was helpful above and beyond the call of duty. Thanks Claudio.

Place should be more convenient for two people than for four. Place lacks a small elevator to lift luggage.
Great location just off Piazza Navona. Mr Bertini was very welcoming and they were also able to accomodate our request for early check in as our flight got in at 7am. Spacious, clean rooms with wooden beams/ceiling. Had a great stay at Casa Navona.
the flat was immaculate and a pleasure to stay in. The kitchen was very bijou and should really be called a kitchenette. We walked everywhere and the location was simply perfect. The stairs leading upto the flat are very steep, hence not for the elderly. We would love to return to casa Navona. My 4 year old loved the pizzeria downstairs.
This was an absolutely perfect place! The flat was quiet, comfortable, and in a great location. We highly recommend it!
