Great surroundings for a quiet and relaxing stay. All extras are expensive. Employees will not entertain conversation. Buffet breakfast is very good although there is no possibility to have cappucino. No restaurant close except a pizzeria.

The stay at the Villa was amazing - if you are coming to the region and need a quite, friendly place to stay with STUNNING views - then look no further. Staff were welcoming and very helpful, especially in advising where we could go on the wine tour ! Breakfast was adequate, but to be frank dont stay here if you want a 5 star hotel breakfast - you stay here for the location and the tranquility - next to the hotel there is a fantastic restaurant which looks nothing from the outside - believe me it is excellent and you need to BOOK to make sure you get a table at the weekend - what else can I say, except we will be going back - soon !!!

Villa Sant'Uberto Country Inn is a superb find. It is 5km from Radda in Chianti (the local town with a good selection of shops and restaurants) in a county setting. The views are very impressive and the rooms more than spacious. We really thought we were very lucky to get such a room for the price. It is very peaceful and quiet and the swimming pool is large and deep. The rooms are well equipped with cutlery, plates and glasses etc. Our only disappointment was the local Trattoria (200 meters from the driveway). It as quiet but the service was very slow and all meals arrived at totally different times. You expect this a little in Italy but there were huge gaps. The pizza though was superb but my dish of roast Tuscan meats was very poor indeed. It was supposed to contain rabbit, chicken, pheasant and hare. All that arrived as literally a plate of bones. Just wings that had been cooked for so long all the meat had fallen off in the cooking pot so left just bones. There was one small 1/2 chicken breast but that was so over cooked that it was inedible. When I complained quietly and politely all the waiter did was to tell me to calm down!. I could not have been more calm so this went into out holiday folklore! Villa Sant'Uberto Country Inn is superb though and very underpriced. We can thank them enough for their hospitality, service and beauty of their villa and the sunset you are privileged to see over the Tuscan hills from your room.

Magnificient! Absolutely beautiful facility and surroundings. The suite was enormous and spotless clean. The wraparound terrace was wonderful and offered a spectular view of the countryside. The only non-positive comment would be the breakfasts could be improved.

This is one amazing place to stay in Tuscany. The reception was very warm and welcoming. The rooms nice and clean and the view is just amazing. The breakfast was good, enough to get you going until lunch. The selection was OK, but everything was fresh. I would highly recommend this place. I forgot to mention the swimming pool which has amazing views of Tuscany and is very clean. To sum it up: GREAT PLACE.

This place is a gem tucked away in the Tuscan hills. It is the perfect place to stay if you want an adventure in Tuscany. We rented a car in Florence and drove to the Inn. We stayed there for 5 days and it was our base for exploring all the wonderful little towns in Tuscany. The Inn was so quiet and the staff could not have been more helpful. They even recommended a great little laundry service in Castellina so that we could have clean clothes for the rest of our trip. You definitely need a car if you want to stay here, but if you are planning to explore the region at your own place, this is a great (and affordable) place to stay!

It is a beautiful traditional Villa located in a big park. The emplacement is also beautiful on the top of a hill with magnificent views over Toscana. It is very well furnished and both people at the reception were very kind and explained everyhing with detail. You must undoubtedly arrive driving a car. Almost no public transport!

This country inn is about 4 km from Castellina in Chianti on the road to Radda in Chianti. Therefor you need a car. But when the gates open and you get out of the car, you know this will be a very nice holiday! In the distance you can vaguely hear the traffic, but what you really hear is: SILENCE. Our apartment was in the back of a big house. It was spacious and very clean, with a well equiped kitchen. From the furnished terrace outside the door, you have a wonderful view of the Chianti landscape with Panzano in the distance. We made our own breakfast and dinner, but you can get breakfast in a spacious breakfast room for an additional charge. Very nice staff, lovely pool, lots of peace and quiet. Very good place to spend some days. Recommendable.

The timing must have been just right for us and the natural beauty of the Tuscan landscape to reveal itself in the autumn splendor of golden yellows, ruby reds and not to forget mentioning the silvery olive trees. It’s God’s country for sure, aided by the attentive details of its wine growers. It was one of the highlights of our stay in the countryside to be able to witness that incredible view in the early morning hours at Villa Sant’Uberto. It’s no wonder generations of families don’t part easily with this attraction. We had the good fortune of getting a suite on the second floor and could throw back the shutters on three large windows or access the generous terrace from two sets of “French†(oops) doors. We found our accommodations spacious and spotless with a bathroom large enough for a morning jog. Breakfast was the best we noted in the two weeks spent through Italy; and that again could be enjoyed on a lower outside terrace or in a handsomely appointed breakfast room. Giovanni and Sylvia, our hosts, spoke perfect English (as well as other languages), were friendly and just attentive enough and always very professional with information on local restaurants and wineries to visit. Our only regret was that we didn’t book Villa Sant’Uberto for a longer stay!! It’s a great find.

First time stay and location and room was great. Please note that if you want to drink your own wine they will not provide glasses - and they have a sign when you walk into reception stating this. We recommend that you buy a couple of wine glasses and take them where ever you go. Overall, we were very happy.

We thought that the Villa Sant'Uberto was even better in reality than it was in its description on the website. We would recommend it to anyone. Beautiful location, away from the chaos of much of Italy, but still within easy driving distance to places like Florence and Siena.

We had 5 wounderful days staying at Villa Sant'Uberto in May 2007. We booked the upstairs suite and it exceeded all my expectations, the view from the huge terrace was amazing, surounded by pinetrees and birds. The staff were very helpful in booking restaurants and with directions & maps to Siena and nearby winerys. The Villa is in a beautiful setting about half way between the small towns of Radda which has many lovely restaurants and Castellina where I would recommend, Trattoria la Torre for homecooked Tuscan food. There is a lot to explore in the area and we only touched the surface but we loved the little town of Panzano, Castello di Brolio is amazing and Siena and San Gimignano are absolute musts. We had perfect weather very sunny and hot during the day and cooler in the evenings. Every morning we ate breakfast on the sundrenched terrace taking in the vista planning our days travels - just perfect.

We absolutely enjoyed our stay at the Villa. We were treated with courtesy and professionalism at every turn. This was our first trip to Italy and it was truly the trip of a lifetime, with Tuscany perhaps the crown jewel. Ask the host for a dining recommendation in Radda. The restaurant in this quaint little town was great and the locals were always gracious. You must try the traditional wild boar. Very pleasant stay at the Villa and we would highly recommend it.

We visited this lovely B&B during the last week of June. Coming from hot and busy Rome, this place was an oasis of cool breezes, rolling hills and peaceful solitude! Our apt. was facing the hills and swimming pool and was clean and spacious. Out hosts were wonderful and all in all it was a great place for families, couples, whomever! The surrounding towns of Radda and Castellina in Chianti are less than 10 minutes away. The grocery store in Castellina was chock full of local produce, meats and staples. The town itself is warm and welcoming with good restaurants, an internet stop, great little Tuscan shops and of course, wine! We took day trips to Lucca, Pisa, Radda and had fun driving the curvy roads to see what spectacle would appear next. There are several winery choices; we chose a free tour at one of the larger ones: Castello D'Albola and were not disappointed. Do not hesitate to book this B&B if you want to experience the Chianti region at a leisurely pace. Note: when renting an apt., breakfast is an additional charge. Although the offering was ample, we chose to purchase a few groceries instead. Service is available throughout the day for coffe, drinks, etc. The pool was clean and open 24 hrs a day. The grounds were superbly kept and just lovely.

Villa Sant'Uberto is the place where one should go to drop off all the stress and tierdness of a busy and hectic life like the one we are living in. From there, you can connect to other Tuscany cities. Breakfast is pretty good. Standard cold cuts, bread, croissants, cereals, etc. Hotel room was one of the most spacious during our stay in Italy. We had a wonderful stay and would highly recommend Villa Sant'Umberto. It is an especially great value for the price. Very good breakfast and the service bar was a very nice addition. We were able to choose from a nice selection of local wines and have them served to us on the terraces and balconies of the Inn. Our only two (minimal) complaints would be that our host recommended restaurants to us that were not open (when we specifically asked what restaurants would be open that evening) and also gave us misinformation re: vineyards which would ship to the U.S. We drove specifically to the place he recommended (about a 45 min. drive) only to be told they did not ship wine and we would have to purchase their wine from a shop which would ship it for us.

We were pleasantly surprised when arriving at the Villa Sant'Uberto Country Inn in that the website photos and description didn't do the place justice. The website info looked and sounded great but the villa was fantastic, the rooms and furnishings were gorgeous and the exterior grounds were a real treat. The innkeepers were quiet yet very accomodating with all of our requests. Every recommendation made i.e. restaurants, wineries, etc., turned out to be a jewel. Breakfast was simple fare, nothing hot except toast. My only small complaint is that when I was looking at a book from a bookshelf in a common area I was told by the owner "don't touch those without asking permission" and then told I couldn't read those books. My friendly advice to the owner is to remove all personal belongings from the common areas as most travelers will assume that they can peruse books that are kept out in open.

We absolutely loved the villa! (And were so very unhappy to leave it!) It was beautiful in all ways, and we have every intention of returning in the future. Our room and bathroom were both huge, comfortable, and tastefully decorated. The same can be said for the villa. We loved the pool and the view of the rolling hills of Tuscany. We loved the quiet serenity of the place. Breakfast was excellent--the best brioches we had in Italy! The people who run it are wonderfully nice and very helpful. Every suggestion made to us by them(we took them all!) turned out to be magical. We could not recommend this place more highly. It felt like a second honeymoon. So romantic!

This is one of the best places we stayed in Italy (probably the best). It's in the country and requires a car... and is about 5 minutes west of Radda, 5 minutes east of Castelina, 25 minutes east of San Gimignano and 30 minutes north of Sienna. The owner spoke perfect English and was very helpul in planning activies. The room (a junior suite) was huge... about 20' x 20" and a large ensuite bathroom (and private access to a huge deck that look northward to Florence. The pool wasn't open because we were there in late March. I truly fine establishment that we will surely return to in visiting Toscana.

Find this hotel before dark! The address is Radda, but it's actually much closer (about 5 km) to Castellina in Chianti. The hotel is an old villa, fixed up nicely. Views from the terrace are spectacular, and you can eat breakfast overlooking the hotel's own beautiful grounds and the Tuscan countryside. The room and bathroom were spacious, the bathroom very modern. There's a swimming pool which we assume is available for guests. The fellow at the desk was surprisingly aloof for an innkeeper and gave us incomplete driving directions that forced us to change a side trip.

The accomodation was faultless and the owner extremely helpful and knowlegable. The setting is idyllic and perfect for relaxation. A number of excellent restaurants recommended by the owner were easilly acessible.

The location of this Villa is perfect - in the middle of wineyards, in the very center of Tuscany and Chianti. A pitty that the pool wasn´t already opened...although it was still quite fresh:-) Overall we spent nice holidays in "Villa Sant'Uberto Country Inn" and highly recommend this nice place.

This was a very enjoyable place. It is obvious that the family who own and operate the inn are new to the "hosting business", but they were very nice. The qualiy of the breakfasts could be improved...dry bread/rolls and rather bland coffee.
