hotel outside In heart of the charming historical centre of Maratea, lies a Medieval village dating back to the 15th century, that has carefully been transformed into the oasis of relaxation known as Capo Casale Hotel. The property and its rooms are equipped with all necessities to ensure guests a pleasant and enjoyable stay. The hotel's panoramic roof terrace affords a magnificent view of the city and its surroundings. Experience the historic centre of Maratea on foot, by walking through many of its alleys and small streets or by going shopping in the many original shops that the centre offers.

The room was very spacious and clean. The terrace provides a beautiful private panoramic view. The hotel is very difficult to find, esp. in the dark. The road is curvy and mountainous, the hotel is on a one-way street that requires some navigation to find. The hotel staff did not carry our bags to the room even though it was up 4 flights of stairs. No elevators. Located very near the center of town, but still requires uphill climb to return. Regular bus service is available to the beach, about 15 minutes away. The huge Jesus statue is visible from the hotel balcony and worth a trip up the mountain to visit. Parking on the one-way street is difficult--the road is very narrow, and one way. Driver needs to climb out the passenger side. They did help carry the bags at check-out--

A delightful place but exceedingly difficult to find; parking can be tricky and the drive down to the seaside and the main road is fairly complicated. Mountain driving skills are a definite plus. Lovely rooms, beautiful view, excellent breakfast, very helpful, nice, intelligent staff with good English language skills

The Hotel was under renovation but did not affect our stay. Our room was very new, very large and well equipped, with great views over the town. When it reopens next year it will be a brilliant place to stay and I would love to return to see how it turns out.

The hotel was very difficult to find but we were helped by a local who guided us (carefully)the wrong way down a one way street. The direct route was impossibly steep for our large motorcycles. Disappointed there was no restaurant but we were guided to a very good one in the town. Wonderful views all around

We were nicely greeted by a man who helped us with our lugguage up to the hotel. And we loved the gentleman who greeted us each morning and prepared our breakfast. While the woman who worked the desk accomodated our request to change our room to one with a balcony (which had no outside furniture), her overall demeanor was not very friendly throughout our stay. Parking was a huge problem and caused us to limit our activity due to the inconvenience & difficulty of finding nearby parking when we returned from a day's outing. For instance, we did not go to the beach as we intended to do. Also, because the car had to be parked against the rock wall along the road, I had to crawl over the console in the car to get out on the passenger side; also the car was damaged by a passing truck due to the extreme narrowness of the road. The hotel was spotless, the room was very comfortable, breakfast was lovely, but the website photos were inadequate and parking should have been discussed - or arrangements made for cars in town. The desk person never introduced us to Maratea upon our arrival and did not point out that literature on the area was available there in the lobby. Unfortunately, we did not notice it until we were checking out.

Excellent, we loved it although difficult to find.
A great hotel, our room was large, had wonderful views and was spotlessly clean. The only drawback was that it took us about an hour to find, it was worth the search though.

Capo Casale is a beautiful hotel in a wonderful location. The staff are extremely helpful & friendly. Breakfast is amazing, served on a terrace outside overlooking the town, 4 different types of croissants (still hot from the oven), choice of fresh juice, fresh fruit, cold meat & cheese, excellent coffee. The beach is a few kilometers away but is easily accessed by the public bus that runs regularly from the town. Also visit Porta de Maratea, again you can get the bus. There really is no need for a hire car. You'll need a taxi to get from the train station but there are taxi numbers posted up, that is if the taxi driver is not already waiting. I spent 4 days there in August & it was bliss, I just wish I was there now. (If you're agile the steps from the town are not any hassle but maybe if you're aging it may not be the most suitable location).

The room was comfortable and rustic, like in an old Italian villa, with a huge bathroom. Both overlooked the village below. The town was like a medieval village with little paths leading through it, just waiting to be explored. Finding it was a little difficult, but worth it.
This hotel is difficult to find and has (currently) very little parking. However, some wonderful views, a first class breakfast and good service. A huge bathroom but drainage from the floor needs attention. Be aware that the address (via Capo Casale)is a one metre wide footpath. Better directions to find hotel would be: Drive into the old town and turn right at the second piazza - continue up this road but not as far as the main road from which there is no access.

We found this a charming, well cared for, hotel. The rooms were comfortable, the siting on the hillside spectacular, the use of color and general ambience most pleasant. The hotel was hard to find, particularly because the road into this hillside town was not well marked. We kept missing it. However, once there we thought Maratea was a charming place to visit.
Very friendly staff, we felt at home. The view from the room and the breakfast area is just superb. We thought from the webpage that the hotel was in fact close to the beach but it is high up on the hillside overlooking the town. We loved it and would gladly return.
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at this nice, fairly new hotel overlooking the hillside town of Maratea. We were able to bring our dog, a 10 kg animal, with us, and he enjoyed the room and the terrace, with its breathtaking view of the bay (especially during sunset). Breakfast was enjoyable, although the air conditioners are right below that terrace, creating a slightly unpleasant white noise. The owners were especially helpful, helping me find (and transport me to) a mechanic when my little Seicento overheated and exploded the radiator. One clerk speaks excellent English, but others speak none. Our stay was for two days, and we look forward to a return.
What a great hotel located in beautiful surroundings and only 5 minutes walk to Maratea. The staff were very helpfull and friendly and the hotel was lovely and clean. The rooms were spacious and nice and cool. Great breakfasts which consisted of fresh rolls, assorted croissants, fresh fuit like honey dew melons and strawberrys and different cereals.fruit juice and coffee made to order. The great thing about it also was you could eat your breakfast on the terrace with a superb view to greet you every morning. I highly recommend the hotel Capo Casale. I had a very pleasant stay there. Thanks a lot!! Best Wishes Tim Swindley (England)

A beautiful hotel set high above the town with lovely views. The rooms are spacious and very quiet. The breakfast buffet is delicious!
The hotel is a hidden gem. It is a little difficult to find, and access with luggage awkward, but once settled in, the hospitality and location are unsurpassed.
This was a brillient hotel with amazing rooms and views, the only problem was it was hard to find. Also you might want to brush up on your italian.
Out of the ordinary, as the hotal seeks to recreate the "houses on the street"of the old Maratea. The decor was also true to historical traditions and pleasingly simple. The complex is still in course of completion so the public areas were still provisional.
Lovely .. well worth the hike up the hill ... first class breakfasts .. great views .. highly recommended

Wondrful hotel in a new structure in charming position. Difficult to be reached, you have to cross Maratea center.
adresse a recommander, vue fantastique, calme et petit dej de tres grande qualité.
This hotel is an undiscovered gem and long may it remain so. Fantastic welcome and service with brilliant facilities. We loved it and will return.
The rooms were great -- much character as well as space. The air conditioning functioned well and the breakfast was super and served on the terrace with the fabulous view. Only warning -- if you're arriving by train, call a cab. Regarding the town, it's very picturesque but there's not much to do!
We were very impressed with this hotel, the location set high up in the historical part of Maratea looking down on the main village with panoramic views over the countryside with a glimpse of the sea below. Our room was split on two levels and was extremely spacious and had a lounge area. The hotel manager could not have been more friendly or helpful, he sent a car to pick us up from the train station and gave us plenty of helpful advice during our stay. The breakfast was excellent too, sat on the patio area with undisturbed views over the countryside and the village. When we come back to this area again we will definitely be staying at this hotel. Top marks!
First-class hotel with friendly and helpful staff, excellent buffet breakfast and comfortable rooms. The hotel is located within idyllic surroundings and panoramic views of Maratea and the mountains. Excellent value for money and I would strongly recommend this hotel.
bello il posto, le camere(grandi e accoglienti), e la struttura. molto gentile il personale e le persone.....ottimo lo consiglio. è in centro citta.
A beautiful hotel that they are expanding. A really nice place to stay and I wish that we had been there longer!
This is a lovely location - above the old town of Maratea with stunning views of the town and valley below. Very charming and helpful staff. We were the only ones there and every morning we had a lovely breakfast of local meats and cheeses, breads, etc. and wonderful cappucinos on a balcony with a gorgeous view. It was a heavenly spot.
A little gem- would recommend- not good for handicap persons- problem with loading in luggage- no elevator
Set in a wonderful location, outstanding views of surrounding mountains. Set in lovely Maratea, easy walk down alleys to beach, 1 hour away. Details of location of hotel very poor.
Probably the best hotel in Italy and one of its best kept secrets. Staff and service were absolutely fantastic, rooms very spacious and the location was amazing. I'd recommend Capo Casale as it is the cherry on top of the beautiful cake that is Maratea!!!
The situation is amazing, just upon the village. Breakfast is nice and people very friendly.
