Eventhough we reservated the hotel 5 months before arrival, we were contacted by the hotel one week before arrival with the message that we only could stay there 3 nights and not the 5 we reservated because of renovation... But since we were 8 people travelling together we could stay anyway after some discussion. But a Great hotel with the perfect location in Rome!!

We spent three nights/4 days in Rome at the beginning of our trip. My husband had never been abroad...I had been to Rome a few years previous to this trip and fell in love with the area around Piazza Navona. When I found this hotel, I knew it would be prefect for the both of us. The staff at the front desk was incredibly welcoming, and helpful in every possible way. The roof top terrace was a wonderful place (albeit a little pricey for drinks, but the food was amazing) to have cocktails and dinner. I can understand, however, why many people are discouraged as to why the room rate does not include a continental breakfast, as the majority of the other hotels do. Other than that, we do not have any complaints!! Say hello to Dario on the roof top!! Always the gentleman. Grazie!! Grazie!!
Fantastic position. Loved the rooftop restaurant and bar. Rooms were great, staff very friendly and helpful. A great stay.

Best location in Rome, 10 minutes to the Vatican, 25 minutes to Trevi Fountain, and 30 minute walk to the Coliseum. Hotel was perfect.

Excellent Hotel, we were beyond pleased, we would stay there again. The location was great, the service wonderful, and the rooms/beds were very comfortable.
9.2
Hotel is in a wonderful location but very expensive. Good clean medium size room with small bathroom. Choice at breakfast should have been better. Roof top restaurant, open to the public, meant that residents could not gurantee a table for drinks.
We loved the location and the service was excellent. We walked everywhere we wanted to go from the Raphael. The hotel is a beautiful old hotel on the outside and a renewed modern facility within. People who want comfort and convenience and are willing to spend a little more will be very happy here.
very nice hotel in a wonderful location
This is an excellent hotel in a quiet corner of a very central location. Without doubt the best hotel I've used in Rome. Would recommend without hesitation.

Very good
The Raphael exceeded our expectations. Upon mentioning we would be celebrating our anniversary while in Rome, we were given a room upgrade. The staff was nothing but friendly and helpful. The location of the hotel could not have been better, with wonderful antique shops and delightful, romantic restaurants just seconds away. We are already looking forward to our next visit to this magical place.
5.9
Expensive hotel in great location but prices are too high in relationship with what you get. Primarily you pay the hotel's good name and service, the really excellent location and one of the best roof-terraces in Rome. Especially standard rooms and bathrooms are very narrow. Separate billed breakfast for EUR 26/Person/day too expensive and does not pay out. Picasso plate collection is fantastic, but I can't see the benefit for the customer paying for it.
9.1
There were three minor problems in an otherwise excellent experience: mold on the wall over the shower, a rattle in the air conditioning unit, and no breakfast included in the price. Every other hotel we stayed at in Italy included continental breakfast, and the Raphael was the most expensive place we stayed.
Sehr gute zentrale Lage;sehr geschmackvoll eingerichtet; wunderbare Dachterrasse, Essen etwas teuer, aber viele Restaurants in der Nähe Auf Wahl zwischen alten und neuen Zimmer hinweisen.

we had a ten year wedding anniversary and chose Rome for its beatufil climate and scenery for our celebration, Raphael with its location, good amenities and excellent service fitted perfectly into our plans and imaginations, we would defininately recommend the hotel for other couples
3.8
Too expensive. Breakfast is not included as usual and it is also very expensive. The service I got when check in was very bad. They did not show any interest in really helping a customer. It's a shame to have so good location and so bad service.

When I could not find the hotel, they sent someone to find me in Piazza Navonna and escort me! Thank you!
We stayed at the Raphael twice during our trip to Italy, for the first four days of the trip then two days at the end. Although both rooms were small, they were both cozy, romantic and wonderfully furnished. The location is great, right off the Piazza Navona and close to everything. Althoguh the hotel is located in a very noisy area, we never heard any street noise inside the hotel. The staff is friendly, knowledgeable, and always eager to assist you ( special thanks to Yurien and Domenico)....susnet from the rooftop terrace is not to be missed. We would return to the Raphael in a heartbeat!

The best.
The Raphael is in the perfect location to see the sights of Rome

We really enjoyed our stay and felt the staff was extremely friendly and professional, as well as helpful. We would definitely stay there again.
Great hotel and wonderful location. My personal preference is more local flavor. Sort of too nice for typical Rome hotel but wonderful.

Right From the word Go we had a fantastic stay @ Hotel Raphael. Granted we did receive a an upgrade to a fantastic suite (Wedding Anniversary) but that said all the staff on the Front Desk and Rooftop Restaurant were more than helpful. Yes it's not a cheap hotel, but we never mind paying the money when you get the service that we did. Would definately stay again.
It's just lovely to arrive at an ivy-clad hotel right in town. The rooftop terrace is simply superb. It doesn't matter that the food is average and more expensive than in an equivalent restaurant round the corner. Rooms are truly quiet, if also really small, though there are 2 larger room categories. Pretty much the best hotel I've found in Rome so far.
Like someonelse said, we felt more like guest than client. Wonderful and warm welcome by a multilingual staff (not very common in Italy). Their french and english was perfect ! The dinner on the terrace was a dream, and when a friend arrived after dinner, he was graciously offered a glass of wine ! The location is great. Just next to the Navona square. The pleasure to be in the very center without the "pleasure" of the noise. Only one regret... our stay was too short ;-)

I reserved the two twin rooms on 5th and 6th on May, but the venere send the wrong reserevaion on 5th and 6th of MARCH! to the hotel and I had to owe the cancellation fee of big amounts of €480 (one night fee of two twin rooms)which have been withdrawn by credit card automatically. The venere com. have sent me wrong confirmation which I didn't bewere its mistake. I am very unhappy about it. I would never use the venere anymore if they do not pay me back a part of my cancellation fee. (I stayed Raphael hotel on May 5th and 6th as I planed by booking through other agency. I was in rush to book the rooms on 5th and 6th of May.)
This is an excellent hotel in the best location in Rome. Right next to Piazza Navona, the staff are excellent and the rooms are well maintained. I would recommend this hotel to friends.

We had a newly refurbished room and it was a very modern room on the 3rd floor compared to what was shown on the website. It was an excellent room. The area was great and easily accessible. We did not eat in the restaurants for breakfast/dinner. Staff spoke excellent English and very helpful and obliging. Would return to this hotel.
This is a FABULOUS place to enjoy as a tourist in Rome. We enjoyed feeling like guests, not clients and the location is excellent
7.4
The location of the hotel is excellent. Service is very good. The room is o.k.(a separate shower would be preferable). The prices of the breakfast en the bar are ridiculously high. Th kitchen of the restaurant is mediocer.
8.3
The hotel and staff were quite pleasant. Our room was spacious and very clean. The rooftop terrace was great, however due to inclimate weather we were not able to enjoy it. Maybe next time!
Just an excellent hotel in one of the most beatiful places in the world
8.5
We had a room at 5th floor. It was not very spacious but definitely quiet and clean witha lovely little terrace for our breakfast. Rooms were cleaned in the morning and in the nught as well. The service was efficient and employes friendly and helpful
Hotel was wonderful only draw-back is that the prices on the roof terrace are extortionate. The view is breath-taking but so were the prices even for non-alcoholic drinks.
I am a user of gyms and spa. During my stay for the last 3 days nobody clean the gym, since there were no towels and no glasses for water, and everything looked like the day before. It could be a lack of supervision on this details. It could also help to review the job performed by maids at the rooms.
Room very little
First class hotel. Best location to see old Rome. Everything you want to see within easy qalking distance. Staff was very good and very helpful. Have already recommended this hotel to many people.
Excellent location, bedroom on 5th floor a little small but quaint with bed upstairs on a balcony with sitting space and bathroom downstairs.
The hotel staff was wonderful. They spoke good English and were accommodating in every way. They assisted in making my train reservations before I arrived. The location was very convenient to sightseeing, and my room was upgraded. I have traveled quite a bit and this property rates excellent in all ways.
I would certainly recommend the hotel, we got quite an interesting room with balcony and semi-views and it was nicely decorated and well kept. Bathrooms were excellent and had Bulgari soaps! We got one of the special rates which made it excellent value (for Rome hotels) - locations is brilliant. But I think some of the normal rates are a bit high. The staff recommended a restaurant which was spot on, best meal we had. If you are looking for a good location, smart hotel, without worries, then this hits the mark - if you get the discounted rates!
6.6
Good service and pleasant rooms in an excellent location. Price was a touch too much for the standard and we did breakfast at a cafe each day rather than paying the rather steep 20 to 30 Euros each.
I thought the hotel was very good indeed. Staff were friendly and helpful, location was very good. Was within walking distance of many of the well known sites of Roma. There was an occasional passing noisy party but not too many and not for too long.Great variety of eating places in the immediate vicinity to suit a variety of tastes and income. I would have no hesitation in returning.
Subdued elegance, but most of all, the best location in Rome: easy access to lots of points of interest.
The hotel staff were very helpful and the location of the hotel was great. I think breakfast was a little overpriced and the room we had though well appointed probably needed some refurbishment with the wall paper, and was slighly on the small side. But other than that it was a very comfortable stay. I would definitely return to say there again.

This was a beautiful hotel, in an ideal location. The bathroom was spotlessly clean and the bedroom was beautifully furnished and well - kept. The only quibble I would have is that when we arrived we were unable to check in and were left sitting for an hour and a half even though the room we were to occupy was vacant. Overall, a very comfortable hotel at a great price!
In my opinion Hotel Raphael is really a great place for a stay in rome. Its location is perfect for exploring this beautiful city. All the sights (Vatican city, fountain of trevi, spanish steps etc.) are in walking distance. The piazza navona and campo dei fiori(flowermarket),lots of restaurants 'al fresco' and beautiful medieval lanes are just around the corner, nevertheless Hotel Raphael offers a very qiet and peaceful place. We really liked the interior design of Hotel Raphael; the reception, the bar and the restaurant are of a simple and pure make, white walls, some paintings, indirect lighting and some antique furniture. Unfortunately the photographs on the web pages can't represent our positive point of view. The rooftop terrace offers a wonderful view over the city. The rooms of the hotel are very charming: handpainted wallpapers with warm colors, comfortable beds and a small but nice arranged bathroom. We spent a wonderful time in Rome and at Hotel Raphael in August and that's low season for Rome, in this way we really got a bargain at venere.com.
This is a quality hotel in a great location for seeing the sights of Rome. The room was really nice and all rooms are individually decorated.(the bath robe and slippers are a nice touch). The staff were very helpful and courteous. on a down side our bill had use of mini bar and telephone calls on it, we never used the mini bar and the phone did not work. Overall though i would recommend this hotel.
