Ericeira is a charming seaside village located on the western coast of Portugal, in the municipality of Mafra, about 35 km (21.7 miles) from the centre of Lisbon. Its name originates from Ouriceira, which derives from Ouriço, the Portuguese name for a sea urchin. Very well refurbished, highly comfortable hotel in a beautiful location. Maintenance may become an issue though as they neglected to remove the cushions from pieces of furniture left outside during the night. They also neglected to clean outside tables after the evening drinks. The dinner from the menu was quite good and not too pricey with the 20% discount offered to residents, however, the service was slow and somewhat unprofessional. The breakfast buffet was fine.

Enjoyed balcony room with sea view and good bathroom. Excellent buffet breakfast. Pleasant, efficient service except a la carte dinner which was painfully slow [buffet option also available] so afterwards dined elsewhere. There are many restaurants near Hotel. Ericeira [an easy motorway drive from Lisbon Airport] was sunny and almost deserted in September which suited us.

We had a great time at the Hotel. We loved our room with a ocean view, with waves crashing on the rocks right outside our balcony. Hated to leave. We thought the 10 euro charge to use the Health Club facilities was excessive. In a 4 star hotel, the Health Club should be free. We would recommend the hotel highly for it's dramatic location.

Beautiful location all staff spoke very good english and were extremely friendly only one girl on reception a bit stroppy !! maybe having a bad day breakfast excellent with lots of choice

This is a very nice hotel in a beautiful location overlooking the sea. It is worth getting a room with a balcony facing the ocean. I found the room and the decor a bit dull but this is probably the local style. The town has been allowed to devlop too fast with lots of apartments being built everywhere. there are some beautiful beaches along the coast outside the town.

By car From Lisbon (IC19 state road): drive in the direction of Sintra and take the Ericeira/Praias exit. Follow along until you reach Ericeira, where the hotel is located.From Lisbon (A8 motorway): follow signs to Malveira, Mafra, Ericeira. Take the Ericeira/Praias exit and continue until you reach Ericeira, where the hotel is located.From the A1 motorway (Oporto-Lisbon): exit at Crel in the direction of Cascais. Follow signs to Sintra IC19. Take the Ericeira/Praias exit and continue until you reach Ericeira, where the hotel is located. From the A2 motorway (Algarve-Lisbon): cross the 25 de Abril bridge over the Tagus river and proceed along the A5 motorway in the direction of Cascais. Go past Monsanto and take the Amadora/Sintra IC19 exit. Drive in the direction of Sintra and take the Ericeira/Praias exit.
