Absolutely magnificent,quiet and serene,with old charm in very confortable modern setting, an old modern chateaux in lovely rolling hills
This was simply the most incredible place we have ever stayed. The staff was fantastic and my partner and I felt very comfortable and at home. I've already recommended it to 5 people just since we got home.
As the sun was setting, we rounded a curve in the road and found Castello di Velona perched on its own mountain. It is a magical place. In November it was very quiet but the staff was so attentive. We felt as if the Castello was our home. Superb renovations during its conversion to a hotel. The cuisine and excellent wines spoiled us. Wish I could have stayed. Hopefully I shall return. Your website made it an easy choice for our Tuscan stay.
it all was so exellent, except when I was checking out and saw that 4 days of internet usage was over a 100 USD$ ! When we checked in , they told they had a wireless conection, but it never worked the whole time. Now when I rthink back on it, I feel we should not have to pay these ridiculous charges, there is no reason for it. Thanks, Wanda Sobran
By car From North:From the motorway A1, exit at Firenze Certosa and take the superstrada Firenze Siena, in direction of Siena. From Siena, follow the Buonconvento - Montalcino - Castelnuovo dell'Abate signs.From South:From the motorway A1, exit at Chiusi-Chianciano. Follow the Montalcino signs.
