This was an excellent hotel for the price paid. It was so close to the station and to the bus services for the airport that we never needed taxis. It is on a busy street and has 2 very nice restaurants around the corner. The Citta Alta was also so accessible from here.I would certainly return if I use Bergamo Airport again.

There wasn't any available parking at the hotel although we had said we would be driving. The public parking was very close but very expensive!! We have stayed here before and although it is still difficult to find we would definitely recommend it!!!!

Staff is very helpful. There was some reconstruction going on in the reception area. Hotel is very centrally located, close to almost everything. Rooms were recently newly decorated, in a classic way. It is a good city hotel, in the new part of Bergamo. If you prefer a somewhat more romantic hotel, try one in the old city!

Travelled with two friends (all middle-aged ladies!) and despite our room having 3 beds it was spacious,as well as clean and comfortable. Staff were charming and couldn't have been more helpful. Location ideal both for the funicular to the beautiful upper city and to railway station for trains to Lake Como, Milan etc. Hotel exceeded expectations in all respects except one - the coffee at breakfast was awful - almost undrinkable. A pity - good coffee is one of the things I really look forward to in Italy. All in all, an excellent hotel and I would definitely stay there again - despite the coffee!

We stayed in a twin bed room at 6.th floor. It was fair enough. Staff, especially officers who was working at reception desk were really helpful, responsible. Breakfast was real good. Internet connection was real problem, but the officer (stated above) helped us too much to overcome this also. Thanks to them

Excellent value for money. great rooms, shame the breakfast is extra, but plenty of other options near by. Also, better not to have a car as parking is a bit competitive! My tip is get a street map before you go,as the hotel can be quite hard to find if coming from the airport, I would recomend a taxi, other wise every thing was great! Very handy for the shops & the airport.

At this moment, sept. '08, the hotel is working on a complete new inside look which promised to be very good. Furthermore the fact that the parking place will be reachable from the inside will be appreciated very much. Hopefully they will also make space for a small bar.

Staff were very friendly. We arrived too late to eat in the hotel but were directed to a restaurant around the corner where we had a great food and drink. Breakfast was good too, plenty to choose from for all tastes. Has a gym too which we didn't use.

We booked two triple rooms for a family of six. Rooms were very spacious, wll furnished and with excellent bathroom facilities. The art collection throughout the hotel indicated considerable taste as well. We were absolutely delighted with this convenient, spotlessly clean, welcoming hotel. Staff were particularly helpful and genuinely friendly.

Great place! Staff smiling and helpful, massive and comfy bed, bathroom with an actual bath-tub, air-con, fantastic restaurant just a few minutes walk away... couldn't have been better! Renovation going on, however, so there was some noise around 9o'clock in the morning. We had to get up anyhow, so that was not a problem. Breakfast was expensive, but bar round the corner did a coffee and croissant for one euro fifty! Moreover, it's only a fifteen minutes drive from the airport of Orio al Serio, but in a lovely location rather than some anonimous roadside patch. Bergamo is well worth spending some time in. Would go back any day

I was very pleasantly surprised with this hotel. Its location is perfect for access to buses,to town and to the station. The receptionists were all extremely friendly and helpful. Our room was a good size, newly refurbished and done to a good professional finish. The hotel is in a street just off the main avenue leading from the railway station,a pleasant 5 to 10 minute walk, not the usual seedy environ typical of most stations - after checking in we went for a drink and a stroll and even though it was eleven at night the atmosphere was like a Sunday family afternoon. Both Low and High Bergamo are well worth visiting, uncommercialised, friendly and very reasonably priced. I would like to go there again and would definitely stay at Arli. Tips: breakfast round the corner and across the road is delicious and cheap;the bus to High Bergamo goes all the way to the old town so no need to take the funicular;there is a brilliant Italian take-away up there so no need to dine in a pricey restaurant.

I have mixed feelings about the Arli. The price, €121.00, was very expensive for the type of hotel and limited facilities available. The lounge area was very small and the hotel lacked a bar or restaurant. Having to pay an additional €13 for breakfast was also annoying considering the room rate. That said the room was clean, spacious and the beds comfortable. We stayed on the night Italy progressed to the quarter finals of Euro 2008 and the final whistle brought a couple of hours of horn blaring and singing which was at first delightful to watch before becoming irritating and finally annoying. Why the people in the next room were banging on the wall was also puzzling. Maybe they thought we had a car in the room? The staff were helpful, friendly (and attractive) and there is a computer with printer which is handy for those flying Ryanair needing to print out their online check in card. Overall the Arli is a good quality hotel, a little expensive for what it offers, in a good location for the train station and buses to and from the airport. It isn't a place to stay for more than a night or two due to the lack of a restaurant or bar and the small public area.

Parts of the hotel are now beeing restored. Our room, however, was excellent, and the bathroom brand new. Others have recommended breakfast in a bar next door (because breakfast is not included in the price), but that breakfast was not good at all - and far too expencive. We had a great lunch in a fine restaurant later the same day, and we paid almost the same there as we did for the simple and bad breakfast. We absolutely recommend the hotel to include breakfast in the roomprice.

The hotel was as described on the site and the stay was enjoyable. The room was clean, warm, spacious and comfortable. The bathroom was pleasant with great toiletries. The staff were very welcoming and helpful. The only drawback was the noise from building work that was going on in the hotel, this started early in the morning even on Saturday and there were workmen on scaffolding outside the window. We would have liked to have known this before our stay. The overall rating would have been higher if it hadn't been for the noise.

We arrived late and there was no record that our booking was for a double plus child's bed. That could not be arranged at that time of night so our child had to sleep in our bed. The manager was very apologetic nevertheless and polite. We were given a bigger room. The price was too high not to include breakfast.

Great Hotel if you have a late flight into Bergamo or an early flight out. It is in the centre of everything and easy to walk to transport links and to the funicular to the old town, which is well worth a visit. We thought the room was great, chocolate on the pillows and Prosecco in the mini bar, fantastic! The staff were very helpful and we would definitely stay again.

The Arli is very easy to find and very well placed. The only problem 13 euro price for breakfast is really exagerate!!! I suggest everyone to go to the bar just near to the hotel 'cornetto + cappucino' = 2 euro.

This was my first trip to Bergamo. Initiated by the need to fly out of the Bergamo - Milan airport. I was impressed with the city and will return in the future to explore the city more as I only had one day this trip. I was impressed with almost everything about Hotel Arli. I did not stay for breakfast because of an early flight, so I cannot comment on that aspect of the hotel. Also, I cannot comment on the type and number of rooms available -- so I gave it a lower score as the software requires the question to be answered. The two young women who staffed the reception desk on the day of my arrival were spectacular -- helpful in every way. The hotel itself, I understand to be rated with 3 stars, but from the aspects of the hotel I saw, it should be 4 stars.

We found Hotel Arli to be a nice hotel right in the middle of the shopping area of Bergamo, with a walking distance from the train station and around the corner to a bus stop for the airport shuttle bus. The staff was friendly and helpful, with a good restaurant suggestion one night. The room was spacious, clean and quiet. Quite expensive considering the €140 rate did not include breakfast. We skipped the breakfast offerings at the hotel and grabbed an Italian breakfast in a coffee shop around the corner, for a fraction of the price.

Very clean hotel in a good location for visiting the old town and using the train station to travel further afield. Our tripple room was a good size with very comfortable beds. I agree with other comments that the price of this hotel should include breakfast but there are plenty of places round about to eat. The hotel organised a pick up from the airport for us as our Ryanair flight arrived very late, this cost 30 Euros. I would stay at the Arli again without hesitation.

My only criticism relates to the directions. I found it difficult to find a Bergamo map before leaving the UK, signposts to the hotel were misleading and the web map poor. So here are my easy directions. Come out of the railway station and go straight ahead up Viale Papa Giovanni and continue up to the traffic lights at the main junction with Via Tiraboschi. The Best Western is on the left hand corner and Arli is a few yards along Via Tiraboschi, set back from the road in what is known as Porta Nuova. And if you think breakfast is pricey at 13 euro, you won't be able to find the amount offered or variety cheaper anywhere nearby. So it is in fact good value for money.

We booked two nights accommodation in the Arli to start off our week in Italy. We were extremely happy staying in Bergamo and will certainly be returning. However, we will not be returning to the Arli. The public areas of the hotel have been modernised but the rooms seem to have been overlooked. While there is nothing particularly wrong with the hotel, there is also nothing particularly appealing either. There are many hotels near the Arli and most seem to be cheaper and have better facilities.

Great Value for Money. Excellent stay which was exactly what we expected for the price. Hotel was very central for the new town and the room was clean and spacious. The only negative comment was that the towels were not replaced. We put them in the bath and the wet towels were simply re-hung in the bathroom; however, this was not really a real issue for the two night stay we were on. Worth noting for the future.

The unique feature of this hotel is the interesting array of paintings and prints in the rooms and hallways, a legacy, we were told, of the owner's father, who was an artist. A decent, clean hotel with apparently efficient, English speaking staff, all of which is ruined when they forget to book the taxi to the airport, an unforgivable sin in Italy. That sort of thing is as crucial as hot water and electricity. The hotel's lapse cost us about one day and 500 euros. The room was modern and clean, although the area just outside the hotel got a little dodgy after dark.

Hotel Arli was in a fantastic location, situated in the lower part of Bergamo city, appx 5 mins walk from the Bergamo central train station. You could easily walk between the two with weekend luggage (eg. holdall, trolleybag etc.) It was only a short taxi ride - 10 mins/ €15 from Milan (Bergamo)* airport. *Ryanair fly there. The rooms in Hotel Arli were perfect for our needs, and the 2 receptionists spoke excellent English. The Arli was a good buy, with a reasonably spacious room at a reasonable price. Parking was available just behind the hotel, though for a fee. We were able to find a good place to have breakfast very near the hotel. The one problem was that the area immediately adjacent to the hotel was a bit run-down, though a half-block away was a nicer area and the center of lower Bergamo.
