Booking said bath-room and we have only a shower and only one defect in this hotel : the breakfast (pastries, butter, jam, fruit juice and cheese were iced).
8.7
The location was perfect. We could walk to most art and historical sites. The woman who worked at the bed and breakfast, Lori, spoke three languages and was very nice and helpful. The rooms were charming. I would recommend 3 Coins Trevi Fountain to everyone. The one difficulty was in confirming our reservation with the B&B before arrival, but that was soon forgotten. One room we had was at the front, on the busy tourist street, so we slept with earplugs every night. The other room we had was quiet. Great coffee. We loved our trip.
8.4
Location was fantastic, literally ten steps out the door and you are at the Trevi fountain!! Lack of reception mildly inconvenient if you don't know your specific arrival time, however welcoming was very warm and helpful. Breakfast was very ordinary but in keeping with other's we had in Italy. It was nice having a fridge in the room.
7.2
petite chambre agréable, propre et soignée. Localisation bien centrale. La chambre ne donne pas sur rue et n'est donc pas bruyante mais la vue sur cour n'est pas très attractive.Les étages sont hauts quand on porte les valises. Accueil agréable en anglais.
5.9
we got the impression that there were private parking for the bed & breakfast, but there were no. But there is a parking house right across the street. Wery expensive, we payed 70E for 2 days!! very simpel breakfast, but cosy. Good service, clean towels every day and they make the room once a day! Smal rooms, but the location is the best in Rome!
6.1
Great location. Upon arrival at the B&B we were shown to our room. The next morning the girl working there asked me to make payment for the 2 nights that we were staying. I handed over my dredit card and was told that i had to pay cash. The website clearly states that Credit Cards are accepted upon arrival and that they are their 'preferred' payment method. When i told her that i didnt have it in cash she rang the owner who proceeded to tell me that we were 'upgraded' the night before into a larger room and because of that, i should pay her in cash. This went on for a while and she said that she was going to have the girl confiscate my passport until i payed her in cash. Luckily i was able to get the money out at a nearby atm and return it to the B&B within the owners time frame. Service was rude and they didnt seem to understand why i wouldnt want to leave my passport with the owner who was going to take it with her when she left the hotel. Apart from that, the rooms are clean and the location is to die for. Make sure you pack light as the B&B is loacted at the top of 3 flights of stairs and there is no elevator!!!!
5.6
If location is what matters the most, this is a not so expensive way to go (yet 96 euros is no bargain...). It is at least 3 long stores up, no lift and cripy stairs. The front door is permanently open (falling apart, actually), and there is no recepcion or front desk (or even front personel) - there is a very friendly and helpful romenian lady who clean the place tough (not much English, but great will to help and comunicate). Common rooms are nonexistent. On the bright side, it was clean (not spotless), breakfast is what other reviewers say (industrialized bread and very good coffe/capuccino, avaliable at all times I must add). If you realy choose location as your priority and is considering to pay 96 euros for a doble, you must know (strong) chances are you are going to get one of the 2 rooms in the attic, and since the photo on the B&B homepage doesnt make it justice, I urge you to see mine! The room is pretty much what you see: after the bed ends, there is just enough space to operate the door. You will have to manage to accomodate (and handle) your luggage in a one chair on the bottom of the bed, since the so called closet is anaccessible given to a desk in the midle of the way. The other room in the same floor is just the same thing (it seems rooms on the 3rd floor are bigger tough). Manager is never there, and the romenian lady can´t operate the credit card machine. I would stay there again only if I had a single day in Rome and wanted to make the most of it (and couldn´t find anything near any metro station).
7.7
Location was outstanding - couldn't be better. A struggle to get up the stairs, but we knew this beforehand from info provided. We were on the 3rd floor (the lowest) so it wasn't too bad, but we had emailed ahead to request this floor (don't know if they got it). Wireless internet was a problem - the equipment is there, but nobody could give us the security code. However, there is a network cable connected to the modem in the dining area, so we went in after hours and connected directly to the internet with our laptop - no problem. Breakfast is cramped and more basic than you would normally expect from a B & B, but there are food choices if you ask (yoghurt, juice, cereal, croissants). Good shower, toilet, bed. Overall, the location made up for the few disadvantages.
4.2
There is no mention on the information that you will have to pay the full amount on arrival. There is no taxi service available as indicated on the website. Breakfast is served in a very small room. There was another couple staying in the hotel who paid significantly less than we did. Also, the price quoted in the hotel was less than what we paid. There is no lift in the accomodation and it is at the top of a flight of 5 stairs. The rooms are clean and quiet. The hotel is perfectly located. However, value for money is poor.
4.1
Positives - extremely central, lovely helpful girl who cleaned and provided breakfast, clean, bathroom was just down the hall and very available. Negatives - security, front entrance is always open with no foyer or personnel. We had a homeless man wonder in and sleep out our 5th floor landing on our first night. Police from Fontana de Trevi moved him on. Room on 5th floor in attic, no lift, couldn't stand up in half of the room due to sloped attic ceiling. Great coffee but didn't eat b/fast offered, very ordinary. Recommend room at a lower level which appeared much better.
4.4
I do not usually complain too much about details not in order, but sadly, in the case of '3 Coins Trevi Fountain', all the small details which were not satisfactory, summed up. The room was extremely small - so small that we had to step over our two normal-sized suitcases, no matter where they were placed. It is the smallest hotel room I have ever slept in. Please see the images. The toilet (same miniature size as the room) suffered from poor ventilation giving rise to small black spots of fungus in all corners. The sink drain was almost blocked, and the hinge of the toilet seat was broken. Our receipt stated that the use of the wireless internet connection was included in the price. Sadly, no wireless signal was found, and the staff did not know about it. The breakfast was industrial toast crackers with jam and butter, served in the crammed kitchen. Sadly, I cannot recommend this B&B despite its very central location. You simply do not get enough value for your money.
6.2
Photo's are not representative to all rooms. Location is perfect, very central. Breakfast is very poor, some biscuits with jam or chocopaste.
1.4
Worst place I have ever stayed! The taxi driver left us off 1 street away, which I was glad of when we got there. It looked like a crumbling slum - scaffolds and falling masonry - I was embarrassed to go in. There were 67 steps to get to our room, which was in an attic with a sloped ceiling so that you could not stand up, and both of us hit our heads on the beam that was only 2 feet above the bed. *Breakfast* was barely warm coffee and a stale pre-packed roll in plastic. Room service? You must be kidding, unless you wanted to carry your coffee and roll back into the room. There was not only no internet connection, but staff could not even tell me where in the neighborhood I could get one. Only things right were the location - yes, very close to the Trevi Fountain and the bathroom was clean and in good repair.
Room was fine. Location was very good. Eating area was very, very small. A lot of steps to rooms at upper levels.
8.9
price was a bit high.
2.8
we asked to be changed rooms as our first one was so small you couldn't open your suitcase, you couldn't even open the bathroom door all the way beacuse if hit the toilet. carpets are so dirty you need shoes to walk around. breakfast wasnt even a european breakfast, packaged dry croissants, packaged dry toast, good coffee though and thank god for the 2 young romanian girls that worked there, they were nice. you have 3 flights of narrow stairs to walk up to reach hotel, very grungy.Even the front door is not appealling.
6.7
Your location is perfect and a cosy place to live. The room was a bit small, but okay. And good with the fridge and air con. Was in Rome only 6 days.
8.1
8.2
The girl who serves breakfast and cleans the rooms is very nice and helpful. Rooms are not very big but clean (and bathroom aswell). No lift. The location is fantastic! You can walk to all places! We will return, sure!
I have been to Rome 1 other time. This was a great value for the size and location of the room in the city. It was very safe, but a bit noisy. The staff, especially, Katie, were wonderful, helpful and friendly - spoke good English. When our taxi did not arrive as ordered, Katie personally walked two blocks away to flag one down and bring it directly back to our doorstep so we would make our train on time. If you want to be in the midst of activity, this was a great location, near the bus stops and some main attractions, but a bit far from the subway. The main drawback of our stay was the bathroom sink clogged(on a weekend) and we were unable to use it for 2 days. The shower was quite large for a Rome accommodation. The flight of stairs to get to these 3rd floor units, is treacherous, due to the loose carpet runner. We were 4 ladies traveling together, and this large 2 single bed, 1 king bed unit was quite spacious for all of us. A couple with 2 children would also enjoy this unit. We did not eat breakfast there often, but we had access to the kitchen 24/7 and to the goodies served earlier that day, We brought back meals to eat there and cleaned up after ourselves. If you open your windows, the pigeons perched outside may keep you awake with their cooing!
3.9
Very good situation but very bad welcome !! We made the reservation 6 months before, nevertheless the day before we arrived they wrote to tell us they had no more room for the first night !! They sent us to another hotel which conditions were different (no breakfast included, nobody to welcome you, difficulty to get the keys and to give them back...). This cost us a foreign phone call, the taxi to get to and back, the breakfast...). We never saw Maria (the owner). A girl from Roumania welcome us asking for payment before showing the rooms ; There was not much to eat for breakfast : only "biscottes", but no bread !! No breakfast if you leave before 8:30...
It's all about location, location, location. This hotel is walking distance to most everything a tourist wants to see. It's a clean place to sleep and a good price for this high-end location. My room was very small but I'm only there to sleep. The only draw back is its' on the 5th and 6th floor(U.S. floors). Lots of stairs. Will stay again!
1.5
DO NOT STAY HERE! We had a terrible experience that I wish I could forget. We arrived at the hotel and walked up to the 3rd floor with our luggage. We checked into our room and noticed the air conditioning was on and the windows were wide open. Anywhere in Europe this is absolutely unheard of. We went to use the bathroom (Quad Room) and noticed a terrible smell. It was late, and we hadn't eaten, so we went to grab something. An hour later we returned and noticed that the smell was still there. The person who checked us in was gone for the evening and we were stuck in this stinky (literally) room. Found out the next morning after sleeping with such a horrible stench that it was the sewer! Found out that they had the problem a few days earlier! And they still let us stay there! So we told the lady at the front that we would be checking out due to the smell. She stated that the problem would be fixed. We agreed that if it wasn't fixed by the time we got back in the afternoon, we would be leaving. Later that afternoon, we checked the room and it still smelled to high heavens! The girl once again said that it had been fixed. As we picked up our bags to leave she called the property manager. He came by and tried to give us a bottle of wine thinking that would smooth things over. He inspected the drain and found that it had not been fixed - that only a rag was shoved down the drain - by the receptionist!!! We again tried to leave, but the manager said we must pay for two nights!!! WHAT! Because we didn't check out at 10am we had to pay for the night. After argueing for about a half an hour we left and found a terrific hotel around the corner for 20 Euro more - well worth it!

We stayed at the 3 Coins Trevi Fountains for 4 nights. The rooms are much smaller than expected but for a short stay it was ok. The room, as well as the bathroom, were clean and this was much appreciated. And it was also very quite, although it was in the middle of the city. We didn't take the breakfast, therefore we cannot comment about this. The B&B is located on the 3rd floor (without lift), which should be mentioned on the homepage. One of the highlights is, that it is very well located, everything can be reached by walking. The only thing we disliked was that the towels were not changed daily. Conclusion: we can recommend this B&B really.
9.4
The maid/recepcionst & the owner were not aware that we were arriving. They were unaware of the reservation, too. Fortunately, they turned out to be very friendly & even more fortunately, there was a vacant triple room, which they gave us for the first day (we had to move to other room on the 2nd day). We had a very early flight on arrival, so we cheched in the pensione around 8 AM & had no problems with waiting for the cleaning. B&B is very clean, cozy, at a perfect location, climatized, persoell very pleasant. The only drawback is the narrow staircase to the top floor & small rooms & bathrooms - large or elderly people should have this in mind.
A very nice stay. We would stay here again. The hostess was welcoming and informative. The location is great- within walking distance of many sights (Forum, Palentine, Spanish Steps), and right on major bus routes to take you to others (Catacombs, Vatican, etc.) Everything was clean. The four flights of stairs was a downside, but it made for a quiet retreat in a busy city, so that was nice. Also, our room (one of the cheapest) had a low ceiling, which was annoying, but we knew about it going in, so we can't complain. Breakfast was small but friendly.
9.7
Excellent price to stay in the center of Rome. Especially witht the US/Euro exchange rate. Staff was VERY friendly and helpful. We stayed as a family of 4 (children 12 and 8yrs), very large room for 4 people. Highly recommend 3 Coins Trevi.
9.5
Our stay at 3 Coins was fantastic. We went for a three day shortbreak and wanted a nicely decorated room as central as possible at a good value for money. I was impressed by its location...the first thing you find steps away is La Fontana di Trevi!!!. Rooms was small but quite pretty and the shared bathroom was modern and very very clean. Basic breakfast(coffee and pastrie)... we opted for little bar in the corner to start the day in the italian way...Excellent value for money. No lift.
Nice stay and very good location but Third floor without lift and the place for breakfast is very small.
4.9
I was told upon arriving that I could not pay with credit card, strictly cash only despite the large sum we owed, however, the morning of check out, I saw another traveller paying by credit card. This, combined with the terrible breakfast consisting of melba toast or stale pre-packaged croissants and jam and the fact you have to climb 4 flights of stairs to get to the reception, were some negatives. The room we occupied was in the attic and had a sloped ceiling and was therefore extremely cramped; claustrophobes beware! However, the B&B is clean (particularly impressed with the bathrooms), there is AC in all rooms along with a small bar fridge, and it is literally steps to the Trevi Fountain making it an excellent location from which to see the sights. If you're looking for a relatively inexpensive, clean, and safe place to stay in a central location, I would recommend it.
Outstanding location - can't get any closer to heart of Rome. Overall stay was excellent - Jena was an outstanding host...went out of her way to make us feel welcome. Be aware that the main rooms are on the 4th floor - may be difficult for older couples or someone with large luggage.
The B&B was very well located in the centre of Rome, on walking distance of most of the touristic places. Compliments to the hostess Gema. She gave us good tips/suggestions about Rome and made us feel at home. If we come again, we definitely would stay again in the 3 Coins. If a negative point has to be mentioned, it would be variety of the breakfast.
4.3
"breakfast" is one mini toast package with jam, and the woman gave me a very dirty look when I came down in the morning to eat. they were helpful with giving directions and advice. the room was on the 4th floor (no elevator) and the ceiling was as tall as my nose, do not stay in room 6 if it can be avoided. shared bathroom worked out fine. location is very central, good for a quick trip but if you are there more than 3 days find somewhere else to stay. (the rooms on the 3rd floor looked nice but the 4th floor is the attic and if you are tall or claustrophobic you will be miserable)
9.2
we stay in this guesthouse 3 nights, it was ok for this short time. the room was small but for us it was ok. the surroundings were great too, as the price for the rome's citycenter! Gena was nice and we had a good welcome. she offered us some nice breakfast with very good coffee! if we'll come back in roma, we'll go to this guesthouse again!
9.8
We were delighted with our stay! Gena was warm and welcoming and full of informative suggestions and advice for our Italy trip. The location was beyond excellent - right down the street from the Trevi Fountain, and a quick walk to the Pantheon, Collesseum, Forum, etc. Plenty of shops and restaurants nearby. The property was clean and enjoyable. We had a shared bathroom, and it was in the hallway across from our room and always clean and available. We would definitely stay there again!
Me and my wife spend 5 days at the 3coins, and was all in all very satisfied. The location is of course fantastic, just beside Fontana di Trevi, and in walking distance of anything else. We were treated fantastically by Gena(?) at breakfast everyday. If we are going to put the finger on anything, it must be the fact that it is located in the 3rd floor, narrow steps up, so large amount of luggage is not recomended !
This visit to Rome was our first and this b & b was the ideal base for it. It is situated so closely to everything a siteseer would wish for as it so central. Also there are some lovely restaurants very close by. The room was lovely, just like a bedroom in a private house rather than a hotel. The lady who runs it is phenomenal as she can speak 5 languages and is eager to help. I stayed with my husband and we would both be happy to stay there again, although I wouldn't suggest it for young children due to it's being on the third floor with no lift. Otherwise, fantastic!
7.3
Excellent position, very good rooms and bath cleanliness. We will return certainly in this B&B.
The hotel is right in the center and the welcome of Jenna was again faboulus!!! Thanks. The rooms are really tiny, but enough for a short stay!
The B & B was clean and we got an interior room, so it was good for resting. Staff was very friendly and helpful. First night we couldn't get the room we had requiered even though we had booked 2 months in advance and confirmation booking said it was ok. B & B is exactly what you can see in the website pictures, no more or less. Price is super expensive in comparison to other countries B&B we have stayed, but for what we had seen in Rome we got a low price. Location is perfect, and is worth paying for it. 100m from Trevi fountain and 5-10 minutes walking to all places you might want to visit. In the web map it looks like it is located in the front-side of the fountain, it is in the back!. We have been told stories of Rome hotels, and for our experience, we will recomend this one.
6.9
Location, Location, is everything. This was very well located B&B. Near many streets with shops, bars and resturants. May be a little difficult to find if not looking closely. There is Bar on right, and new ristorante on the left for B&B enterance. Little plaque on the wall near the door buizzer (3 coins trevi). 2 block walk to the Trevi fountain and your in your own Italian holiday. Stairs are many, 3 or 4 flights. We loved it.
Great place and great location (and quite!). With 2 kids we had a room for 4 big enough for 6.Unbelivable Quality Vs.Price for Italy and the lady speaks a perfect English.
8.5
The hotel attendant, Jenna, was extremely helpful and nice. She outlined the Rome sites for us to see in the limited time we had to tour. She was pleasant and responded to all our requests and needs.
My boyfriend and I stayed at 3 Coins trevi Fountain in sep 2006 and we had a very nice stay there and felt welcome from day one. The place is extremely central with all the big sights of Rome in walking distance. Our room was clean as well as the bathroom and only minuses would be the smallness of the room (we both banged our heads into the sloping wall) and the missing of fireescapes and safety arrangement.
7.9
This was an excellent location. The people were very nice. The cheaper room was quite small - cramped really. Good if you were a hobbit, but for the location it was still a great deal - walking distance to everything!! (Vatican, Ancient Rome, Pantheon, etc.)
excellent location, reasonable price, poor service and rooms
7.1
very small room, but very well located... no water in the room....
5.3
The rooms are to small to give for a double as regular.
We had a great welcome, thanks to Janet, who was very helpful. Room n°1 was small but very quiet and confortable (I wonder whether toilet seat + bulb got replaced since then?!) Apart from these minor details, everything was perfect and we would book again!!!
Cosa si può volere di più a meno di 100 euro a notte fra fontana di trevi ed il corso? L'ubicazione è assolutamente strategica, centralissima, ideale in particolare in inverno e con la pioggia. Attenzione a chi arriva in auto: è in zona a traffico limitato!
We where not satisfied with our stay. We can't do anything because we paid the room for 3 nights right away without seeing it first. We where place in a small room on the last floor of the building. No elevators BREAKFAST IS TERRIBLE. We where served with hard toast, sweet bread in a plastic and a small juice the first day. We ended up not having our breakfast for the rest of our stay
2.4
I would strongly recommend never to use this facility. We booked our honeymoon stay 7 months in advance to our arrival and on our arrival we noticed that the lady was acting weird. She mentioned that there was a mix up and would have to put us in a room overnight and change us the following day. The next morning she proceeded to advise that we could not have the room booked and paid for. (We had booked double room with private bathroom). When she showed us the room we could have it was a room without a bathroom and tiny. She advised that the bathroom we could use was down the hall but stilled charged us for a double room and private bathroom. She was extremely unhelpful and althought we understand that mistake can happened she made no attempt to do right by us by charging us for what we actually received (room without bathroom). In addition to this there was no lift and we had to carry our bags up 4 flights of stairs.
Concern due to the lack of any fire escapes or warnings. No interest shown by employee. Also had to pay in cash on arrival. This was not clearly explained during the booking procedure. A credit card detial was given during booking, this should have been sufficient
The Rooms were a little small but very nice and clean. The Host was very friendly and helpful.
Jenna the host of the B&B was so friendly and helpful. The only bad experience we had was trying to find the B&B upon arrival in Rome. The map was confusing and needs to be more detailed. We spent at least 30 minutes trying to locate it. Other than that, everything was great and the location was easy walking distance to all major sites.
The room was tiny for 90 Euros a night, but the location was superb and the place was clean, friendly and easy going. If you planning on doing lots of stuff around Rome and not being in your hotel room too much - it's perfect!
9.1
The host was great ! The location is the best !!!
The room (double with shared bath) was extremely small with sloping roof, more like half a walk in closet. The breakfast room was very small. This place does not give value for money, otherwise ok. Bathroom was clean, we didn't have to queue to get access to it, and of course the location was great.
We did not expect a room in the roof space, with only room to stand up in along one side of the area, up NINE flights of stairs. Basic fire safety facilities such as fire doors, smoke alarms, signed exit routes were non existant. The room for eating breakfast (What there was of it - very frugal) sat only four people. This in a B&B with I think 9 or 10 rooms. All right for two nights, I would not have wanted to stay there any longer.
5.5
6.6
The breakfast was poor and toilet/bathroom very small.the room itself was ok.
7.8
We are fom Germany and stayed three nights in the B+B 3 Coins Trevi Fountain. The Room (double with private bath): It was very clean, air conditioned and silent. The Location: Really great. Youn can reach everything by feet and see all the amazing attractions of rome on your own. But the rooms are up in the third floor, so you must be able to rise many steps (no elevator). The breakfast: Very poor (some very sweet croisants which were packed in plastic and bad coffee) The employees: Kind, but a little bit too familiar athmosphere. Differences between the advertising page and reality: Photos and discriptions on venere.com are still up to date. All in all: We would book again. It`s okay for a city-trip. You can rest and sleep very well and reach everything by feet. But not more else. Uwe
The Location was excellent, very near to the Trevi Fountain where you can reach all important sights walking. The room we had was small but spacious enough for a few days stay in Rome. We were extremely happy with our choice and would return to this location again. Note: the B&B has no elevator, which might be a problem for people with big luggage. Nevertheless the emploee gave us a help, so this is no big minus.
Great location size of room was patheticaly small it was the smallest we encountered in Europe & UK
The hotel is 3 floors up but it's only along the street from the Trevi fountain which makes the climb worth while. It's a bit more like a B&B than a hotel but thats not a critisism. The rooms were just as they are in the photo's, they were spotless and had everything you'll need for your stay. The staff were very pleasant and helpful. The location is excellent, all the major tourist spots are a short walk away.
5.7
location location location . .. . was GREAT!!! it made up for the size of the room . . . also, they told me that they did not take credit cards and I was very upset so she ended up taking it.
5.4
I found the room itself clean and pleasent, however i didn't feel that it was value for money. The noise levels were terrible as there was building work going on on a building opposite our room.
Fifth floor with no elevator... A/C didn't work - thank god it wasn't too hot. Breakfast offered was very limited.
Good place to stay if looking for combination of budget and location. Only negative thing was that we arrived Sunday evening and no-one there to let us in.
the atmosfer was wonderful, nice and clean, the welcoming was great..Carlo,Joseph and particulary Leonardo with his charm absolutely brilliant...Thanks a lot!!!!!!!!!
5.8
Website advertises that they accept all major credit cards. Once we arrived, however, we were forced to pay in cash. Manager refused to accept credit card payment for even one night. Also, there were no phones in any of the rooms. There was one phone in the common area, which the manager refused to let us use. One member of our party had to make a return trip to the airport to pick up his bags because the hotel attendant refused to help him arrange delivery to the hotel. This would be a decent pensione if not for the absolutely appalling service. It's really unfortunate.
For these three days the space of the room was absolutely ok. For a longer stay I would have tried to get a bigger and brighter room.
Very central, clean and comparred to others low priced with typical italien service. Rooms are nice only the two rooms with sharred bath are diminutive garrets where you have to strike your had. Staying only for some nights it is quite reasonable to go there. Although you have a booking it´s advisible to call one day before arrival to guarantee free available rooms. Reklamations are not accepted and are dealt with arrogance.
3 coins was an excellent choice. It was on the cutest street just 1/2 block from Trevi Fountain. It was so quiet at night that we slept like babies. We could walk to many other sights from there and to restaurants too. I would recommend this place. We paid for a shared bath room but I think we had our own bath-we just had to go out into the hall for it. Our room and bath were quite small but the other rooms that we saw were bigger. There is a hike up to the third floor with no lift so you have to be able to do the steps with luggage. We would stay there again if we get back to Rome.

Out of all the rooms we reserved on our 3-week trip to Europe, this was THE disappointment. It was supposed to be a B&B but there was a bed but no breakfast. The owners were obviously AWOL and had left it to a very nice but incompetent maid or two to run. They asked for prepayment up front so we were stuck there. While the place was technically clean, they ran out of toilet paper and towels the 2nd day and another guest was handed a towel and told "I think this is clean." We got put on the fifth floor (no lift), where the roofs made us bump our heads, and the mosquitos ate us alive. The location was good but overall it soured our experience in Rome. Whatever you do, stay somewhere else.
From the street front the property is not easy to locate, and it is often difficult to gain access if you do not already have your key, during our stay we found a drenched new guest on the doorstep who had been trying to get a response from the intercom for 15 minutes in the pouring rain. The size of our room was OK but by all accounts it was the exception as all the other guests we spoke to had incredibly tiny rooms. The bathroom in our room was clean but had a permanent bad smell which was not pleasant. The kitchen was ridiculously tiny with a table that uncomfortably accommodated 4 people - for a B & B with at least 20 guests not really adequate. The breakfast itself was certainly nothing to write home about. Generally my impression was that while overall it was OK, considering the price it wasn't really value for money, and just to leave a bad taste in my mouth when we asked on the day of our departure if we could leave our bags there for a few hours (2 weekend packs) they said no. This is the first place I have stayed anywhere in the world where this has happened, it took us 2 hours to go to the Termini and check our luggage in to the left luggage (queue of 45 minutes) and left me feeling really annoyed at Hotel 3 Coins for being so unhelpful.

If you like to spend 90,- Euros a day to become depressive in a dark broom-cupboard called "double-room"; if you want to bang your head every time you try to stand upright in this so-called "double" (maybe you get a cheaper room in a hospital then); if you love to drown in a pool of quicksand, called "mattress"; if you're keen on seeing, how they tried to make one bed out of two (just to give the simple camp-bed a "better look"); if you like to have christmas-decoration in your room in october (they'll know, why); if you love to start your day by starring at shocked or deeply disappointed eyes of strangers (which means: other guests), who just can't believe, that "Breakfast" means a tiny little kitchen with four chairs around one table for presumably 20 guests, who have to find their dry "croissants" (HAHAHAHAHA!) themselves somewhere in some cupboard; if you like to find yourself outside a closed door at the day of your arrival, dragging your baggage around the streets of Rome, trying to find a phone to call the "reception" of "3 coins" (don't worry, there's none); if you love to get offered another room than you have booked for a "special price" with only 30,- Euros more than you've originally booked (because they simply have "forgotten" your internet-booking, you did one month before); if you love to get called from your so-called "hosts", that it's too "expensive, to call a taxi for you" at the day of your departure (there's no phone at the place), but you should "look around the corner for a taxi by yourself, get your luggage, grab a cab, ride to Termini-Station and then call us, and then we'll give you an adress, where you can get your passports back from us" (NEVER ever leave your passports in their hands!) - to cut a long story short: if you love to have an unforgettable stay in Rome: book at "3 coins"! Their address - Via di Cruciferi - has been chosen carefully.
THis place was fine if you were in their biggest room (where they put us because they messed up the booking). However, other rooms were small, some no more than dog box, with only small overhead skylight, no windows. If you're willing to pay for one of the more expensive rooms, the position is fantastic.
Although our room was a bit tiny, this place is in an awesome location - very central to sights & transportation. Bathroom was clean and breakfast was sufficient (coffee & brioche). Lots of stairs (narrow ones) which was fine for us with backpacks, but a lot of big luggage would have been a pain.

The '3 Coins' is a clean and well furnished B&B located right in the heart of the main attractions. It really is a 'coin throw' from the Trevi fountain! Although the web map is accurate, it is not easy to find at street level as the sign is simply a small brass plate next to a fairly bland external door and the stairs up to the rooms are not for the faint hearted, elderly or disabled. Please remember this is a B&B and not a hotel and therefore there is no staff as such. The twin / double rooms are small but clean, well equiped with air conditioning etc. and for the position offer good value for money when compared with more 'up market' accomodation in the area. The owner, Marco, is extremely helpful and I am sure would do everything he can to make your stay a pleasant one.

I would not recommend the three coins trevi fountain bed and breakfast. The rooms are very small (ours had a sloping ceiling and there was only a small portion of the room in which a 5'3" woman could stand up straight). You have to carry your luggage up three long flights of stairs just to get to the bed and breakfast. It is difficult to find anyone working in the bed and breakfast to check in or ask questions. However, I will acknowledge that the leak in the ceiling that caused rain to fall on us while we were in bed was quickly addressed when we were moved to another room. While the location is convenient, the accomodations are not worth the (relatively cheap) price.
excellent location, great to have an airconditioner, but small rooms, very poor breakfast facilities/location and poor breakfast.
The breakfasts could be a bit more complex. Olga was an excellent host. The location was awesome - trevi fountain is the best 24 hours a day! Could set up an internet connection for guests.

VERY DIRTY!!! The breakfast was very poor - it was better to bring your own bread!

My partner and I spent a lovely 2 nights at the 3 coins trevi in our very very tiny double bedroom which had an excellent (but very small) ensuite shower room. The climb up the stairs with cases may not be so easy for some but the location is just so central. The fountain is a 2 min stroll from the front door and we visited a fantastic restuarant just left from the fountian Le Chianti which was excellent value for money and the deserts were incredible, well worth the wait for a table. The breakfast really wasn't worth bothering with far better to sit in a cafe whilst planning the days route! We would recommend 3 Coins Trevi purly for its location, the rooms was small and clean, the breakfast non exsistent but it felt romantic to us. Great place to stay for a 2 night visit.
The location is excellent for exploring Rome. It is situated right next to the Trevi Fountain and makes an ideal central base to walk to all the attractions. The room was very small, with just enough walking space around the bed, but it was very clean, as was the bathroom. We only stayed for a long weekend and only really needed the room to sleep in, if we were staying longer I would look for a bigger room. But I believe there are bigger rooms.
3 Coins(B&B) was located in a great location. However, the service level provided was not all that great. First, when we arrived, the method of payment was very inconveient. They wanted cash rather than to accept our payment in forms of credit as stated online when we made the reservation. Second, the minute we checked into our room, the clerk was no where to be seem until the day we were checking out. Third, they never came to clean to room or to provide clean towels and sheets. Therefore, we couldn't seek any assistance. The only advantage beside the location is that we had the ability to leave and return whenever we pleased. We are not sure if we would stay here again.
By car From any point of the Grande Raccordo Anulare, reachable by all highways, follow the indications to Roma centro. It is forbidden to enter the area where the B&B is located by car, so guests can park their car close to the Termini train station and reach the B&B by taxi or take the underground line A and get off at Barberini.
