There was a decided Twin Peaks flavor to the place. It was eerily deserted, possibly because it's in the middle of nowhere. It's about a 30 min. drive to Siena. Stay there instead. Nothing in the hotel is new, but it was clean enough for a night.

We were at this hotel for a very short time - shorter than planned because of car trouble on the way there - we didn't get to enjoy the pool which was the reason we booked it. We have to commend the young lady who was working the night we came in who stayed until nearly 2:00 in the morning to let us in. (we had 2 rental cars break down on us in the course of the day) She was understandably upset but very nice to us under the circumstances. The rooms were roomy and the area beautiful.

The rooms were very spacious and the views magnificent. The swimming pool was a welcome extra. Overall The Mirella Hotel was excellent value for money

By car From North on A1 highway, take the exit Firenze Certosa and follow the indications to Siena then to Grosseto for about 16 km. Exit at Fontazzi and proceed uphill for 4 km until you reach the hotel. From South on A1 highway, take the exit Val di Chiana and follow the indications to Siena then to Grosseto for about 16 km. Exit at Fontazzi and proceed uphill for 4 km until you reach the hotel.
