farmhome - exterior The farm home Tenuta di Canonica is situated on the summit of a hill overlooking the town of Todi, amidst an enchanting countryside, between forests, olive groves and fruit orchards, allowing you to enjoy an incomparable view of the Tiber Valley, Lake Corbara and Todi. The property is composed of three adjacent structures, built in different eras: the most ancient building is from the Roman time, during the Medieval period the lookout tower was added and, at the beginning of the 20th century, the structure with the splendid portico. The farm home opens its doors with the welcome of a private residence in a warm family atmosphere and features many amenities such as a large park, an outdoor swimming pool, a small meeting room and restaurant.

The property is an ideal starting point for discovering the marvels of the splendid Ubrian region where an evocative, enchanting, almost mystical atmosphere seems to pervade the air. The marvellous cities of Todi, Assisi, Gubbio, Spoleto, and Perugia can be easily reached by car.
double room The structure offers 2 types of accommodations: apartments for 4 people as well as single, double, triple rooms and junior suites for 2,3 or 4 guests. The rooms are located in the ancient stone structure and feature private bathroom with hairdryer. The apartments, located in the dependence, can host up to 4 people and are composed by a double room, living room with sofa-bed for 2 people and kitchenette. The accomodations overlook the unspoilt Umbrian landscape and are equipped with fan, colour TV, direct dial telephone, Internet plug and heating.
The breakfast buffet is served from 8.30 a.m. until 10 a.m. in the breakfast room.
This unbelievably beautiful, romantic Farm Home was the highlight of our week in Italy for relaxation and good food and beauty. It is a very old farmhouse (roman well inside!) that has been tastefully added onto off the back. In early June we were able to do laps in the outdoor pool and eat our breakfast on the patio. At the end of the lane where the bed and breakfast is situated is a well marked walking path/road/ area where we walked all one morning with views and lovely poppies and flowering trees along the way. Another day we spent in nearby Todi. We visited Orvieto and Civita de Bagneregio before arriving there. Deruta and Assisi are relatively nearby, too. It was hard to say goodbye after our 3 nights there. Our room was spacious with gorgeous colors, antiques and views. The reception staff, Violetta or Francesa, spoke good English and were very helpful. Breakfast, which was included in the cost, was buffet-style with cereal, eggs, coffee or tea, hot and cold milk, pastries, toast, yogurt and you could ask for anything that was missing. We had dinner there one night (sign up for it by 5 p.m. each day) that was a set 35 euro menu (not including wine) and was absolutely delicious. The setting is convivial to talking with your fellow guests and we moved with another couple to the spacious living room after dinner to finish our wine. There were other couples there as well as several families. But it was very quiet. There are some pets around including a dog and a parrot that seem to like people. The only 2 drawbacks are that you would need a car to get there because it is off the beaten path (we had a rental car) and the signage and directions could use improvement, especially if you are trying to find it like we were in the dark! The written directions could be more detailed, too. We usually stay in 2-3 star hotels and this was a very special treat- well worth the extra cost. I have already recommended it to others. By car The structure is easily reachable by the motorway A1, exit Orte. Take the statale E45, then exit at Todi/Orvieto. Then take the statale SS448 until you reach the crossroads for Prodo-Titignano, turn right until you reach the crossroads for Cordigliano. Turn left and procced straight on for 1 km. By train The closest railway station is in Orvieto about 15 km away.
The structure has an outdoor private parking for about 15 cars.Bike rentals area also available.
The garden, due to its excellent position, gives guests the opportunity to relax, admiring the beautiful Umbrian landscape.
