We stayed at the Grand Hotel Cadenabbia for three nights. The terrace room was spacious and well appointed, renovated in period style but not to a high standard. The dining room on the 5th floor has a good view of the lake but only offers a fixed price 4 course dinner at night. A la carte is not offered but would make dining in more attractive for guests who do not want a large meal.

hôtel très bruyant, parties communes sales, plus de petit déjeuner si vous arrivez un quart d'heure avant l'heure limite !c'est un "hôtel usine" aux prestations médiocres ... pourtant le prix est élevé : très mauvais rapport qualité/prix

The Hotel is superb. Extremely good location and beautiful surroundings.I can give for rating 10 if only the staff wasn't so unfriendly, unfriendly, unfriendly.

We like hotel overall, but pool area will need quick reforming. Poolside wooden parts/pool terrace was dangerous slippery. Pool shower was almost broken and very dirty, because sewer was broken/clogged.

The Grand in the name is historical. It's more a middle class hotel. The price was ok (with lake view). Breakfast is ok, but seams to be a very quick "fast food" - service. Don't pay for the evening lunch. It's realy expensive (35,-€) without quality. Go to the next restaurants and pay a half for a double good dinner in quite (spring time) and friendly atmosphere. Overall it was ok, but have not such great expectations. have nice holidays, Arne

great stay...upgrade to lakefront room. breakfast was pretty good....

We enjoyed our stay at the Cadenabia and found the hotel as advertised. One recommendation would be to ask for a room far away from the lifts, which 'bing bong' every time the door opens, particularly on Floor 5 where the bar is located (very annoying at midnightand/or 6:30am!). That said we had a lake room with balcony which was lovely - superb view, and found the hotel overall good value for money.
Hotel is well appointed, with pleasant rooms. Beds on rather the hard side. We were upgraded to a lake view room, which was a pleasant surprise, but were put next to the Sun Deck, where we could hear the late night revellers very well. Noise from the street was however, minimal. We were not that impressed with the breakfast - we really felt that it was sub-standard for a hotel of this quality. The coffee was dreadful and the scrambled eggs tasted as if they were prepared from powdered egg. There was a good choice of cheese, cold meats, breads etc.

Great hotel, well located on the west bank of Lake Como. Great views of Bellagio from the terraces. Easy parking next to the hotel. Wonderful breakfast on the top floor overlooking the lake. Caters mostly to tour groups, but not a problem. Quiet area with great restaurants within walking distance. Ferry to Bellagio a 5 minute walk from the hotel - extremely convinient location.

Enjoyed our stay here. Ferry to Bellagio is close and regularly available. If you are not a smoker, be sure to get a non-smoking room - if they have them. Our terrace room had pillows that reaked of smoke. Area is lovely, breakfast very enjoyable, panaromic restaurant offered a beautiful view. If you are taking train to Como or Lugano and then the bus to Cadenabbia, be sure to know the bus schedule and plan accordingly. We had a late train, missed the last bus, and had a 60 Euro cab ride from Como.

Apparently they are making works and there are sites with construction equipments . The access to the swimingpool is bad and ugly and it is not accessible to discapacitados in wheelchair.we have a very confortable room and bathroom for discapacitados in wheelchair . Restaurante with a wonderful View
We would have no hesitation in returning to this hotel, though it's not perhaps the place for small children given the hotel's position right on the road. Be prepared for lots of bus tour guests too,as this seems to be a favourite stopping off point, - not surprisingly given its proximity to the ferry to Bellaggio. The views from the terrace at breakfast are the most wonderful way to start the day. Everything in the hotel was clean, fresh, and well presented. It was welcoming too, with an up-market decor and lots of beautiful fresh flowers. Any queries were always politely and efficiently dealt with and everything in the rooms was well thought out and in good excellent condition. We have very pleasant memories.

Beautiful facility, beautiful location overlooking Lake Como.

This is a grand old lakeside hotel that was probably quite run down until recently and has been refurbished to a good if slightly anodyne standard. Work is still continuing in some areas but did not prove intrusive. We had two lovely lake-view rooms. The road runs in front of the hotel, but the rooms are double-glazed and traffic noise was not a problem at night. Breakfast was a good continental standard. Dinner, which is a set menu, was served on a spectacular roof terrace overlooking the lake. The food though was not so special and we thought it only average value. Overall we'd be happy to go back (but eat dinner elsewhere) - the location really makes this hotel special.

This hotel was very nice overall. Rooms were clean and quiet with private balconies. We had a hard time finding it at first because there is not a sign on the outside of the hotel. Just be aware that this hotel is the first one you come to when entering the town. Also, I do not recommend eating at the hotel. The staff is very slow and food was not good. It took over two hours for our meal. Another thing--if you arrive after 2 pm, don't expect to find a meal in town. Nothing is open from 2 to 4:30. Easy access to the ferry and public areas. Parking was first come, first serve, though we did not have a hard time.

Hotel was great. The tunnel was under construction and traffic was routed in front of hotel which was more that usual during the day. The view was fantastic and service was great. The location was good for boat taxi and we had a great stay. I would recommend.
We upgraded for a reasonable fee per night to a room overlooking the lake. The view was stunning. The room was spacious and an interesting mix of old world architecture paired with more contemporary furnishings. Bathrooms completely up to date. Only ate breakfast at the hotel as our days were filled with sight seeing. For reasonable priced local dinner there is a small local restaurant between hotel and ferry dock that served great local fare - try the local fish. Upscale dining with great wine and food was available across the lake in Bellagio. Expect to pay $$$$. Just a 15 minute boat ride away.

We were on a month long vacation in Europe. We started in Rome, Florence, and Venice then came to Lake Como. It was a very nice relaxing couple of days before continuing on to Paris and London. We will definately be back to Lake Como and would love to stay at the Grand Cadenabbia again!

How hard it is to be positive about H. Cadenabbia. The kids got terrific pictures of the bugs in the room, but hesitated to take pictures of the construction crew (they didn't think the workers would appreciate photographs of them at 7a.m.). Our group of 11 made the best of it, but compared to so many other wonderful experiences from our 3 weeks in Italy the H. Cadenabbia ranked the worst... Mike M.
My family was there on vacation and we loved it there. The housekeepers need to read the clean/do not disturd signs better. Almost an embarassing moment for all of us!
Big hotel on the main road along the shore. Lots of traffic, but roadside rooms quite well sound-proofed. Suoerb location, beatiful views of the Lake Como. To be a great hotel after ready with the renovations.

This is a dreadful hotel, we checked in after a 4 hour drive and were immediately disappointed with the overall "tired" appearance of the hotel, as we went inside it looks like an institution. I went to the room which was a good size but also very old and tired....after a walk to the pool through derelict pathways, we decided this was not even worth a one night stop let alone the 3 nights booked and we returned to the reception and cancelled the booking and left. Thoe whole area on the west side of lake como looks very untidy and since we had stayed at lake garda before opted for a further 2.5 hour drive to somewhere worth staying. This is NOT a 4 star hotel... it needs closing down and complete refurbishment. DO NOT BOOK THIS HOTEL. Venere can I suggest you delete from you listing, it is not like the pictures on the website.
Had a wonderful view/room with a stone terrace. Traffic is noisy at times but the doors/windows block most of it out at night. Can't beat the view/price - great food in the dining room with reasonable prices. Had two firm beds instead of a king- not alot of storage space for clothing - but room for suitcases. Pool is difficult to get to - but well kept. Would stay again in a heartbeat!

The Grand Hotel Cadenabbia (Bellevue) definitely met our expectations. What made the room special was the veranda, and the staff was very accomodating. This was also the most comfortable bed of our stay in Europe.
7.4
Hotel was in work but it was not mentionned and the TV was too small. Neithertheless, the journey was excellent!
By car From Milan, take highway Milano-Laghi and exit at Como nord. Take road SS in the Menaggio-Colico direction, past Como for 30 km until reaching the hotel. By train Como railway station is 30 km from the hotel and connected to the area by bus. By airplane The Milano Malpensa airport is connected to the area by a bus leaving twice a day.
Exquisite cocktails are served at the cosy lounge bar.
