We stayed at a hotel in Lucern that was twice as expensive, but we liked this one better. The staff was very friendly (English not a problem) and the location was great (we walked with heavy bags less than 10 minutes from Interlaken West). The rooms were small, but clean and had everything you needed. If you are looking for a no-frills base for exploring around Interlaken, I would heartily recommend.

By far the best Hotel we stayed at in Europe, staff very friendly just like being at home. It was like staying in a 5 star hotel. Room was huge, balcony very big and it faced the street. The restuarant served the best food in town.Interlaken is a town to see!

Great location on central mall. Staff were very helpful (e.g. looking up weather forecasts for us). Except for Manager who was fairly gruff, but luckily spent most of his time having coffee/beer with friends in the cafe, and left client liaison to his helpful wife and staff! Very good restaurant

We got what we bargained for with the Toscana: A pleasant hotel in the heart of Interlaken, convenient to both train stations. We needed a room for four adults, and the room itself was the right size, with four beds and a modest bathroom, including a shower. It was clean but a little tired; the carpet and decor were a little spartan, and a little old. The reception area, the staff, and breakfast, however, were all quite good -- clean and spacious (reception); friendly and helpful (staff); and generous and accommodating (breakfast -- the hotel arranged to serve it early one morning so that we could eat before catching an early train).

Very nice and clean hotel, rooms quite spacious based on European standards. Will definitely recommend this hotel to anyone travelling to Interlaken, staff there very friendly. Hotel's Italian restaurant serves very good food too. But please note that if you're arriving by train, Interlaken West Train station is very much nearer than Interlaken OST(East) so please take note as Interlaken has 2 train stations, the West station is situated withing the hustle and bustle of the city, and the East station is about 5-10 mins away by Bus.

The hotel is very well located, close to the West station and restaurants. Unfortunately, the access street was being repared and was hard to find the hotel. Reception was excellent, explained all the attractions and services for us. Note: he speaks English, Portuguese, Spanish, Italian and French besides Swiss German! Overall, very good! We would definitely stay there again.

Comfortable, clean place, traditional chalet style, in good position very close to centre of Interlaken and between the two train stations. If you have luggage I would suggest the bus or taxi from the station as it's a bit of a walk. By Swiss standards, it's good value for money.

Interlaken was a wonderful opportunity to visit many beautiful areas like Jungfrau Joch, Schilthorn, Lake Thun. Hotel centrally located close to bus, shoppping and not too far from trainsation. The only negative that I found that although the hotel has "push button" telephones, the actual service is rotary, and I therefore couldn't use the Swiss telephone card I had purchased. People were kind and accommodating.

Staff sooo friendly and helpful upon check in- they seemed excited to see you and happy to have you! Location was perfect- right in the heart of Interlaken and a 5 minute walk from Interlaken West train station. At night, there was a huge band/orchestra playing for the hotels restaurant that has seats outside- it was magical. Rooms were really spacious and this had the most western bathroom we had in Europe- lots of room, very new, very clean! Room was very quiet in the evenings despite the window being open. We would stay here again for sure!

The hotel is located in the center of Interlaken within easy walking distance to both train stations and all of the area's activities and locations. The hotel room was clean and nice and the morning breakfast good. The hotel common area is a bit limited so there was no real place to sit and relax but that wasn't what we were looking for in the hotel anyway. The hotel restaurant was good and the people helpful and pleasant.

The positive features were location, nice balcony, nice breakfast, comfortable beds and good-sized bathroom. The negatives were the old, stained carpet in the room (not what one should get when paying 200 CHF per night!) and the average service. Only one of the three folks at the desk showed any enthusiasm about assisting us. Although we enjoyed our stay, we will look at other properties for our next visit to the area.

The hotel is not terribly attractive, but the location is good, and we had Internet access in our room, which was unusual in our trip. It is said that breakfast is not included in the price but actually it is. We have to go out early the next morning and the old lady at the reception desk kindly packed sandwishes, bottles of orange juice and chocolates for us that night. The man at the reception desk also kindly ran outside under the rain to check the bus timetable for us. We will stay here again if we go to Interlaken.

It was all we hoped it would be. Great location; closer to Interlaken West station than Ost; we were three adults in a triple and the room was very spacious and the bathroom was excellent. Out the rear door is a large open park that is quite beautiful, and where the paragliders land from their mountain flights. We recommend the Hotel Toscana.

Hard-working woman Heidi seems to do it all, check in, check out, preparing breakfast which was pretty good, good coffee, croissants, ham, muesli and yogurt. Quiet location. COnvenient to restaurants. She provided free bus passes as do most tourist hotels there I suppose. All in all, really nice. Oh, the unique key situation where you insert your heavy room key in the board and take out the smaller front door key and reverse that when you come in.

We were pleasantly surprised when we saw our room at the Toscana, it was very spacious and we even had a balcony with a georgeous view. The staff were extreemly helpful, especially Michael. It is in a great location, close everything. The only tip i can give people is to make sure they get off at Interlarken West train station if they are going to stay at this hotel, we made the mistake of getting off at Interlarken Ost. We have fallen in love with Interlarken and if we get back there some day i will definatly be staying at the hotel Toscana!

The hotel is in a very good location and the staff are very helpful and friendly. We had 2 rooms and both rooms had twin beds which was a little unusual to us. The breakfast was included and was very nice but we were not told at time of booking or arrival so it would be very easy to miss out and go and eat somewhere else. There was no air conditioning and the only vetilation was the veranda door and this had no roof over it and so if it was raining could not be left open. We had a very expensive and disappointing trip up the Jungfrau and felt that the people at the accommodation should be telling guests not to buy their tickets to the top at the train station but from the village three quarters of the way up where you change trains to go to the top so that you can assess the weather before buying the expensive part of the journey and seeing nothing because it is a whiteout. This left a bad taste about Switzerland as no one explains this to the tourists.

The hotel is well located. We were able to walk to shops, restaurants and bus stop - also only 20 min walk to train station (5 mins on bus). Travelling with small children, being close to everything makes life easier! As we were 4 in one room it was slightly cramped with 2 foldout beds added to room for children - but nothing that was of major concern. A good breakfast was provided by hotel each day and staff were very helpful when we asked about various sightseeing expeditions we wanted to go on. Good value for money hotel.

The room was big and clean. But I had to reject the first room assigned because you could look in through the balcony from the lift lobby. They run a skeleton service on Sunday, the day I departed. I could not leave my bag till my train departure and ended paying 5 Swiss francs for 2 hrs locker storage. I suppose it was ok but I would not rave about it.

Wonderful Hotel. Fantastic view of an open park immediately behind hotel, all the while surrounded in lovely snow-capped mountains. A little bit of a walk from train station, but what a wonderful view along the way. Avoid the "Hooters" in Interlaken, although they had a very interesting (almost) automated liquor bar, the food was over-priced and tasted nasty. (Hotel did not give me the recommendation, it was my own fault)

Excellent room for a family with children, it's a spacious room (by European standards!!!). The summers in Europe realy need a fan in the rooms..

The best thing about Toscana was the host who was very kind and helpful and the location of the hotel which is in the heart of the small town and right in the middle of the shopping area and very close to the information center. The Interlaken West station is very much walkable which takes about 5-6 minutes ( without heavy luggage ). Though 170 Sfr was little on the higher side but we liked this hotel.

Very quiet, spacious, comfortable, nice view from balcony. Excellent location in Interlaken. Courteous staff. Only drawbacks were 1) Lots of guests smoking during breakfast and 2) The telephones are rotaray, not touch-tone. Our calling card would not work with a rotary phone, and we had to walk to a pay phone.

First time to Interlaken, so perhaps the standoffish personalities is common. Few rooms with a view other than an alley or next to the laundry facility. The feather beds smelled bad and were questionably clean. Both of us had bites on our skin after each night sleeping (bugs in feather bed???). The restaurant was extremely overpriced and the food and service was terrible. The fondue had so much alcohol in it the cheese could not be tasted and the serving of bread was sparse for 41.00 CHF. The lobby is outdated and spider webs covered the natural rock fountain by the front desk. This should have been our first indication to turn around and leave. The bathroom towels appeared to have been used previously (long hairs on them) as did the bathroom and minibar glassware. No screens on the windows and with easy access to the room we did not feel comfortable leaving the windows open to air out the room even when we were there. Would not recommend this hotel to anyone, even those on limited budgets because it was expensive yet dirty.

Good hotel. Would not have any problems staying there again. We had been to a couple of other hotels in the area before, with more stars, but our stay at Toscana was pretty good. The rooms are very clean and quiet. It's near the West station, within easy walking distance. Ideal for trips to the Jungfrau and near all the shopping. Since everything in Switzerland tends to be somewhat pricey, the hotel's price is acceptable. Would not mind staying there again.
