Whether you are sipping a genuine glass of Chianti in our gazebo overlooking the Tuscan panorama at sunset, or taking a leisurely swim in our swimming pool, we have the perfect setting for your Italian vacation. Our working farm, dating back to the late 1800's, which includes grape vineyards and olive trees, is 9 km/5.5 miles from the center of Florence or 15 km/9 miles from the Florence Airport, in the Tuscan hill town of Impruneta. The town is a breath of fresh air compared to the often hectic pace of Florence. Here you will still find lovely Renaissance churches, museums and art, but also golf, tennis, mountain biking, horseback riding or a short excursion to Siena (60 km/37 miles) or the world famous wineries of Chianti. Among the amenities that await you here at Podere Le Cave, are our newly renovated rooms, swimming pool with garden deck and hammock, outdoor gazebo, outdoor dining table under a canopy and a viewing terrace. Impruneta is located in the green valley between Florence and Greve in Chianti, famous worldwide for the handworked pottery and the local production of wine and olive oil. Likewise, there are many other interesting sights in Impruneta and surrounding villages. Throughout the year there are festivals and cultural activities that make the short journey from Florence worthwhile. For our golfing guests, located 10 minutes from Podere Le Cave is Golf Ugolino. The oldest course in Tuscany and one of the oldest in Italy, Golf Ugolino is a natural course built in 1934 in the Chianti hills and it exploits at best the natural characteristics of the Tuscan landscape: the cypress trees and olive trees, the slopes that curve and follow the magnificent scenery, the small greens which are often very well-defended. The course is a par 72, 6,278 yard (5,741 meters) designed by British architects Blandford and Gannon and was the site of the 1983 Italian Open, won by Bernard Langer in a play-off against Seve Ballesteros. Impruneta offers you the possibility in partaking in a leisurely game of tennis, enjoying an adventurous horseback ride through the Tuscan countryside or a cultural experience of one of the nearby Tuscan wineries such as Castello di Monterinaldi or Castello Banfi.
