Close to the River Nore amid peaceful countryside, this very attractive, restored 18th-century house is set on a farm with deer, sheep and horses, and was the winner of an Agri-tourism Award. There is fishing at the farm (220 yards), lovely walks by the river and an excellent craft trail of 10 local workshops to explore, while children will love the young deer fawn in summer or the lambs in spring. Just ½ mile away the medieval town of Kilkenny offers a historic castle, design centre, and good restaurants. Golf at Mount Juliet, home to the Irish Open, is just 15 minutes' drive.
