Far reaching views These chalet style holiday cottages have extensive views over the open farmland. The properties have been decorated in cottage style to provide well furnished, semi-detached, single-storey dwellings. Situated a short walk from the centre of the pretty village of Sherston in North Wiltshire, this is an ideal base for visiting the many historic towns of the area and the pretty Cotswold villages. Local attractions include the Westonbirt Arboretum, a wonderful collection of trees from around the world, with 17 miles of trails to wander along and enjoy the nature and wildlife. Lacock is a pretty 13th century village retaining many limewashed half timbered stone houses and is a favourite with TV and film directors. Here also is the fascinating Fox Talbot Museum of Photography. Castle Combe is often called the prettiest village in England, and is a popular attraction with its cobbled streets, 14th century market cross with old water pump, historic pubs and cafes, and also famous for its leading motor racing circuit. The historic Elizabethan house, Chavenage has regularly featured in several recent BBC dramas such as Lark Rise to Candleford, Tess of the D'Urbevilles and Dracula, and has rooms and features dating back to the Cromwellian era. Longleat House and Safari Park is an enjoyable day out for all the family, and the Roman Spa City of Bath with its magnificent abbey, Georgian crescents, pump rooms, museums, shops and galleries is within easy reach.
