17th century character cottage This charming semi-detached holiday cottage, formerly a monk's retreat, dates back to 1640 and is full of delightful beams, stone floors and is prettily furnished. Situated above Lake Coniston amongst the woods, through which there is a short path down to the lake, the property is right in the heart of the Lakes National Park. It is situated 2 miles from Coniston, 5 miles from Ambleside, a mile from Tarn Howes, and with Grizedale Forest behind you. Windermere is a short ferry trip across the lake, and there is fabulous fell walking in the immediate area. Shop, pub and restaurant 2 miles. Lounge/diner, kitchen, bathroom with shower over bath, toilet and basin, 2 bedrooms; 1 double, 1 twin. Oil central heating, open fire in lounge (initial supply of fuel provided), all other fuel and power included in rent, bed linen included in rent, colour TV, DVD player, stereo/CD player, dishwasher, microwave, lawned garden, patio, garden furniture, off-road parking for 2 cars.
