Superb views/Nature trail The ideal place to spend a relaxing holiday in a Devon country cottage. Set in an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty with superb views over the gardens, farmland and Alphin Brook Valley towards Dartmoor. W41437 offers cosy accommodation and is furnished to a good quality standard. The other three cottages boast original beams and are part of Hayne Barton - a Grade II listed farm dating from 1086 (the Domesday Book) with 16 acres of gardens, fields, streams and woodland. The Drashing Barn (W806) is a 600-year-old detached barn made of Cob. The lounge has low beams. Outside there is a walled garden. W807 is an old victorian piggery which has been tastefully converted into a detached character cottage, and constructed with the less abled bodied guest in mind. W808 is a detached 200-year-old granary. It has been charmingly renovated with romance in mind. This holiday cottage has the original arches used for aeration of the grain. The bedroom opens out to the rose garden. Set in 16 acres of woods, streams, orchards and fields incorporating a nature trail, there are lots of wildlife including badgers, deer, horses, Jacob sheep and other animals on the farm. For the ornithologists owls, buzzards and other species of birds can be sighted. The beautiful and romantic city of Exeter is only 4 miles away with its shopping precincts, magnificent decorated cathedral and restaurants. Dartmoor and south coast are easily accessible.
