Bustling market town This delightful, semi-detached single storey holiday property is situated on the edge of the Lakeland town of Cockermouth. It has a enclosed rear garden which is ideal for relaxing on warm summer evenings. Cockermouth is a bustling market town with small shops, museums, art centre and eating places and is best known as the birthplace of William Wordsworth. It makes an ideal location for exploring the northern and western Lake District as well as the Solway Coast. Nearby Carlisle has several attractions, including Carlisle Castle; a great medieval fortress that has watched over Carlisle for over nine centuries. Carlisle is the northern end of the 72 mile Settle-Carlisle Railway. Steam trains may often be seen at Carlisle station on special charter trips. Carlisle Great Fair, established in 1353, is held in late August each year. Shop, pub and restaurant 0.5 mile.
