There is a wildlife and visitor centre as well as a concert theatre at the heart of the forest. Windermere, England's largest lake, offers such watersports as sailing, windsurfing and water skiing. Idyllic walks and picnic spots are in abundance. Shop 0.5 mile, pub with food 0.25 mile.
