The historic old market town of Bury St. Edmunds for the abbey ruins, museums, theatre, sports and swimming facilities is only 7 miles. Sudbury, the birthplace of Thomas Gainsborough, Stowmarket and Diss are within easy reach as is Newmarket for the races, whilst peaceful Flatford and Dedham - much associated with the painter Constable - lie close by. The surrounding countryside is ideal for walking, cycling and bird watching, and horse riding is available 2 miles away. Each holiday cottage overlooks a pretty enclosed courtyard with furniture and barbecue area ideal for sitting outside enjoying a glass of wine on a balmy summer's evening.
