Good touring base Set in rolling countryside, between Barnstaple and the Cavalier town of Great Torrington, these pretty single storey semi-detached barn conversions offer the ideal holiday location from which to explore this popular area. North Devon's stunning coast is just a short drive and boasts a dramatic and scenic coastal path. The ancient port of Bideford, still a working quay offers boat trips out to Lundy Island and the pretty coastal villages of Instow and Appledore have a good section of pretty shops, galleries and restaurants specialising in locally caught seafood. The splendid surfing beach at Westward Ho is a popular family resort and is bordered by the Royal North Devon Golf Club and the Northam Nature Reserve. Great Torrington, famous for its 1646 Cavalier and Roundhead battle, is only 3.5 miles away and has a good selection of shops, cafes and restaurants along with an indoor swimming pool and superb theatre. A great location that has something for everyone. Golf, fishing and riding are all available locally, whilst the nearby Tarka Trail leads walkers and cyclists through suburb scenery and the wild beauty of Exmoor is a must for nature lovers. Dartington Crystal Works, Rosemoor RHS Gardens and the Quince Honey Farm are all close by and for family fun the `Milky Way' and `The Big Sheep' adventure parks are not to be missed.
