The properties provide a super base for walking and trekking - there is a country footpath directly from the property - cycling, horse riding and bird watching. With excellent road links to the historical towns of Bury St Edmunds, Diss and Stowmarket, all within half an hour's drive. Other places not to be missed include the very popular Stonham Barns, where you will find birds of prey, the picturesque village of Lavenham with its Guildhall, beautiful Ickworth House (NT), Thetford Forest with its cycle route and Peddars Way footpath and the ever popular Norfolk Broads. Other family attractions in the surrounding area are Bressingham Gardens and Steam Centre, Baylham Rare Breeds Farm and Kersey Pottery. Stowmarket has a challenging 18-hole golf course which the English Golf Union has designated as a 'Centre of Excellence'. Stowmarket also boasts Suffolk's only open air museum - the Museum of East Anglian Life, featuring a glimpse of the past and an enjoyable day out for the family. Southwold, Aldeburgh and the RSPB reserve at Minsmere on the unspoilt Suffolk Heritage Coast are easily accessible. Shop and pub with food 0.5 miles, restaurant 1 mile.
