It provides a peaceful but central location from which to explore the historical town, dominated by its castle which is often described as 'The Windsor of the North', cobbled market place and numerous shops including the old station which houses one of Britain's largest second hand book shops. The coast is only a few miles away, where you can enjoy the lovely long sandy beaches and beautiful unspoilt countryside. Shop and pub 100 yards.
