Driving down the hill into Invermoriston is a joy - the road is lined with mature trees creating an avenue of natural beauty. Invermoriston is a tiny village but a place of great beauty. Here the river Moriston crashes over waterfalls towards Loch Ness. This is a superb place just to wander and take in the sights and sounds. Pleasure trips on Loch Ness, fishing, forest walks, horse riding and golf are all available locally. The city of Inverness is just 27 miles providing all the facilities of a city, while 25 miles south lies Fort William where climbing, skiing and water sports are available. For the less energetic, bird watching and "Nessie" spotting prove popular in this year-round holiday area.
