Set in the village of Wanlockhead, high in the Lowther Hills it is surrounded by excellent walking country, where birdlife and tranquility can be enjoyed. The cottage is full of character and charm and includes a stone open fireplace and beamed ceilings. Wanlockhead, the highest village in Scotland is on the Southern Upland Way and is home to the award winning Scottish Lead Mining Museum. You can still pan for gold in the mountain burns. Good golfing and fishing nearby, and central for touring this lovely area. Shop 1.5 miles, pub serving food 200 yards, restaurant 6.5 miles. Lounge/kitchen/diner, bathroom with toilet and basin, 2 bedrooms: 1 double, 1 twin. Storage heating, open fire in lounge (intial supply of fuel provided), all other fuel and power included in rent, bed linen and towels included in rent, colour TV, video, freezer, microwave, garden, garden furniture, off road parking for 2 cars.
