Perched on a hillside overlooking Loch Ness, this lovely detached property close to the shore of the loch, is set amidst a working farm and enjoys surrounding, natural unspoilt woodland. Benefiting from ¼ acre of superb enclosed gardens, the cottage is beautifully presented offering quality furnishings and fabrics, making the ideal base for exploring the area. Enjoying a gentle blend of modern day comforts with more characteristic features, the cottage enjoys an oil-fired Rayburn for cooking and heating and an open fire in the living room for those cosy winter evenings. Dormer windows in the bedrooms ensure full advantage is taken of the beautiful mountain and hillside scenery as well as glorious views over Loch Ness. Within easy reach there are many places of interest to visit. The small village of Fort Augustus,¼mile, offers several places of interest including the former Benedictine Abbey set on the edge of Loch Ness, the Clansmen Centre and the Caledonian Canal Heritage Centre. There are also good restaurants and a lively village pub. Fort William, gateway to Ben Nevis is easily accessed and offers excellent climbing and scenic walks. The Nevis Range Ski Range boasts Scotland's only cable-car system. The one-and-a-half mile gondola ride gives an easy approach to some high-level walking, or just enjoy the spectacular views from the terrace of the restaurant at the top. In July and August the Nevis Range's dry ski slope is open, or ride the mountain bike course from the top gondola station. The western isles of Skye, Mull and Iona are all within easy reach. Visit Dunvegan Castle, Talisker Distillery and take a boat trip to the islands of Eigg and Rhum. Locally there are many distilleries and castle tours to enjoy as well as sailing, canoeing, skiing and cycling. Fishing by arrangement. Inverness,20miles.
