In a delightful rural setting, close to the Quair Water, with only the sounds of the river and birds, this 18th-century bothy is completely away from it all, yet only 30 miles from Edinburgh. Set adjacent to the original miller's house (now the owner's home), the bothy is all open-plan, following the plan of the old stable block. It is rustic, yet comfortable with direct access to the pretty garden. There is a menu of circular and linear walks from the doorstep. Golfing, 3 miles, fishing on the river Tweed, Glentress Forest (4 miles) with mountain biking, walking (all abilities), riding within 4 miles. Nesting ospreys (in season) can be observed via CCTV. Traquair House, ½ mile, is the oldest inhabited house in Scotland. Peebles, 6 miles, has excellent shops, restaurants, theatre. Innerleithen 1½ miles has good local shops. Step to entrance hall.
