Built in 1898, Springburn enjoys an interesting history - George Bernard Shaw stayed here. The holiday cottage has since been lovingly renovated to a high standard and is situated within the grounds of the owners' home with its sitting-out area. With wonderful views, it is just 100 yards from Loch Fyne's beach. Located on the edge of Loch Lomond and the Trossachs, Scotland's first National Park, this property makes an ideal base for exploring this diverse area of southern Argyll. Explore the beautiful Kyles of Bute from Tighnabruiach, which has a sailing school for visitors to try their skills. From Colintraive take the short ferry to the Isle of Bute and visit Mount Stuart, a magnificent Gothic house belonging to the Marquis of Bute. From Portavadie cross to Tarbert and explore the Mull of Kintyre and Campbeltown. There is excellent golf there at Machrihanish, or stroll along the deserted beach. Travel to the Loch Fyne Oyster Bar and enjoy a great fishy meal. Explore Inverary with its imposing castle and jail museum. Further north, Oban is a busy harbour town with good shops and restaurants, and day trips can be enjoyed to Mull and Iona. Excellent walking, fishing, golf and gardens to explore.
