Set within 68 acres of countryside, which is a haven for nature and birdlife, Clear Water Fisheries is one of the North West’s premier carp and coarse fishing venues. This spacious, contemporary, wooden-clad lodge overlooks one of Clear Water’s six lakes and has its own private patio and decked balcony. The ground floor has a bright and airy open plan living area, with a contemporary kitchen and breakfast bar, and a living area with seating cleverly positioned to take in the lake views. There is also a separate utility room, a downstairs toilet and a shower room. On the first floor are two double bedrooms, one with a Juliet balcony and an en-suite shower room. Both are accessed via the bunk bedroom making this property particularly appealing for larger families. The patio area is equipped with a gas barbecue, a large table and chairs, perfect for al fresco dining. The lodge also has the advantage of being next door to the licensed bistro which serves breakfast, lunch, dinner and afternoon tea - very convenient for when you want to take a break from self catering! Clear Water Fisheries is located in the village of Borwick, which is just 2 miles from Carnforth. The town is known for its railway station which was chosen by director David Lean to feature in the 1945 film ‘Brief Encounter’. Today you can watch the film in the award-winning Visitor Centre there. Carnforth has regular rail services into Lancaster, as well as operating a service to Carlisle, which stops at several places of interest along the way including Arnside and Silverdale, Cartmel and Grange-over-Sands. The town of Carnforth has a good selection of independent shops, bars, cafés and restaurants. Apart from fishing, which is available on-site, there are plenty of other activities on offer within easy reach. The area is great for walking and cycling, and just 2 miles away you will find Warton Crag Nature Reserve which is great for hiking, climbing and abseiling. Nature lovers and birdwatchers will also enjoy a visit to RSPB Leighton Moss, 5 miles. Just a couple of miles from the M6, Clear Water is very accessible and as such makes an ideal touring base. Places of interest to visit include Morecambe Bay, 9 miles, Lancaster, 10 miles, Kendal, 17 miles and Cartmel, 19 miles. The Lake District is within a ½-hour drive, Blackpool and the Fylde Coast are a 45-minute drive, and in an hour you can reach Lancashire’s beautiful Ribble Valley, as well as the Yorkshire Dales.
