Discover this beautiful part of Carmarthenshire from Hen Ysgol, once part of the village school, this spacious, semi-detached, single-storey property is perched on the edge of the rural charming hamlet of Llansaint which boasts a village pub serving fresh local produce and a range of local ales. Llansaint is near to the historic town of Kidwelly which is host to farm produce shops, craft shops and cafés. If you want a trip back in time, uncover the history of the mighty and imposing Norman Kidwelly Castle, built near the River Gwendraeth and one of many castles built locally to protect the rivers at Laugharne, Llansteffan and Loughor. For those more active guests, take a trip to Pembrey Country Park with 8 miles of golden sandy beach, 550 acres of woodlands, dry ski slope and the longest toboggan run in Wales.
Hen Ysgol really has been transformed into a wonderful light and airy property, and has been thoughtfully furnished throughout with a spacious open plan kitchen, dining and living room. In the evening enjoy a barbecue alfresco where you can take in the sea air and those coastal views from your private courtyard and then retire to the living area and put your feet up after a busy day of sightseeing.
A plethora of local walks are available and travelling further west, you will find the village of Ferryside nestled on the banks of the River Towy estuary. There are fantastic walks with amazing bird and wildlife and exceptional views, all within a 5-minute drive away. Travelling further along the coast, the village of Llansteffan and the township of Laugharne are not to be missed. Laugharne, famous for Dylan Thomas’ Boathouse and where you can view Dylan’s writing shed on the banks of the River Taff estuary. For a lovely lunch specialising in local organic produce try The Corran restaurant located on the salt flats near to Pendine where the land speed record was made in the famous car, Babs. You can still visit the restored car and see the museum of speed near Pendine Sands. Beach 5 miles. Shop 2 miles, pub and restaurant 500 yards.
