Sleeps: 6
Bedrooms: 3

Enjoying direct views across the Sound of Mull to Ardnamurchan Point, An Dobhran stands in an acre of secluded grounds bordered by its own river, direct to the sea. Very comfortably furnished, this architect designed cottage stands within an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. Ideal for nature lovers and hill walkers, the whole peninsula retains a diverse geology, flora and fauna. An abundance of local wildlife includes frequent sightings of otters, pine martens, seals, deer and a large range of birds including eagles. For an interesting day trip, Fort William is within easy driving distance and boasts the splendid West Highland Museum, its collections covering virtually every aspect of Highland life. Excursions from the town include the popular trip to Mallaig on the Jacobite Steam Train, taking in some of the region's most spectacular scenery. Just north of Fort William is Scotland's only cable-car system which rises to 2000ft and offers spectacular views, as well as a dry-ski slope in July and August. Several cruises also leave from the town pier every day, offering the chance to spot the marine life of Loch Linne, including seals, otters and seabirds. There is easy access to Tobermory on the Island of Mull twice weekly from the local pier at Drimnin or via car from Lochaline, 12miles. Tobermory is easily the most attractive fishing port on the west coast of Scotland, home to the TV programme 'Balamory', its clusters of brightly coloured houses and boats sheltering in a bay backed by a steep bluff. Day trips include ferry trips to the Treshnish Islands for Fingal's Cave and large puffin and seal colonies, sea-fishing, diving (with tuition) and some sailing available locally.
