A little further afield, Murcia city is well worth a visit - the region's capital and a university town, it has an impressive Gothic cathedral, many Baroque churches and a lovely garden near to the River Segura, called the 'Glorieta de España' - a pleasant place to relax between sightseeing and shopping expeditions.
