A finely reconstructed, 18th century Umbrian country house, La Carraia stands in a hectare of land just outside historic Orvieto. Retaining all of its architectural integrity, thick wood beams and brick floors feature throughout, whilst antique and country furnishings are found in the large living room and separate dining room, which has a locally cut basaltine fireplace. There is even a bar in the living room, which leads out to the covered veranda and garden area, ideal for dining al-fresco. Each bedroom has its own bath or shower room, two of which features a Jacuzzi bath and a hydro-massage shower. A small custodial family live in an apartment attached to the house, ensuring security and standards, but do not encroach on guests privacy. Orvieto is nearby with its stunning cathedral and many restaurants. Its local station also has direct rail services to Rome and Florence, whilst the sites and towns of Umbria and northern Lazio await discovery. Ground floor: Living/dining room with bar area. Kitchen.
