Embraced in history, this original home is part of a rare and ancient hilltop medieval borghetto, overlooking the valley of Spoleto. Ivy-covered grey and mustard stone is just part of the rustic flavour of this individual house which has a lovely shaded terrace and is accessed through a fascinating courtyard with antique marbles and farm items. The house has been restored with full respect for it's medieval origins and has a strong character. Inside, fireplaces and ballustraded galleried bedrooms marry with antiques, paintings, heirlooms and objets trouvÚs. There is even a free-standing ancient column in the large living room which contains sofas, a grand piano and a XIV century wooden pala depicting the Madonna del Rosario. The windows offer varying views over historic Spoleto, located down the hill, and the kitchen, in keeping with the rest of the house, has antique pots, pans and brass. The house is an excellent base for exploring the Umbria regionand its historic towns, besides beautiful Spoleto with its famous Festival of Two Worlds and day trips to Rome and Florence.
